The name suggests this restaurant doesn't take itself too seriously but the food produced here is something quite marvellous. Both the Lady-friend and I were left well-chuffed with our meals. The restaurant wasn't busy at the time (about 6:00pm), whether they haven't caught on yet in the local area or if Thai1 becomes busier a little later in the evening I can't say. Perhaps the lack of customers was the reason for the speedy service too. Whatever the reason, it was efficient and courteous. My something and rice and the Lady-friends noodle thingy were both tip-top. In my experience Thai food is either really good or really bad but credit where it's due, this was some damn fine Thai. I was hankering for something a little higher up the Scoville scale than usual and the meal I had - and I remember this part particularly well - nearly blew my face off. Then, displaying quite a sense of humour, a waitress places a small bowl of extra chilli sauce next to me. Just in case I felt the need to attempt full combustion. Food was top notch with all the old classics of Green Thai Curry, coconut rice, and Pad Thai turned out very well. The ingredients seemed fresh and well sourced. The spice level was just right i.e. not to hot to burn your lips but strong enough to get you glowing. The waitresses were charming and very pleasing on the eye. All in all a good night had by all. I called to check on the food and was told it would be there in 10 minutes, 30 mins later I called a number of times again they didn't answer, when I finally got through I was told that they were very busy and our food had just left. Right...45 mins later (bearing in mind we live 3 miles away) it arrived. Vege starter for two was soggy, fried and underwhelming. Worst of all my boyfriend's vegetarian rice dish was full of chicken and was disgusting. They left out the satay sauce from the chicken satay so really just dry chicken on a stick. I called to complain and asked for the manager, spoke to another staff member and was told he was too busy but would call tomorrow..when I will be demanding a full refund, if I ever hear from him. Their hot/spicy dishes actually are hot/spicy. Prices are reasonable and on par with other Chinese take away food in the area. Thoroughly recommend you try them out. Favourite dishes include Singapore Fried Rice and Fried Squid in Salt and Chilli. Very nice and the Singapore Fried Rice is quite hot with lots of chillies in it. Not for everyone I am sure, but for those that like real spice when it says it is spicy will be happy with this one. Although it is not mind blowing spicy though.

A sweet little shabby, affordable restaurant, brilliant considerate service and busy for a Tuesday night. Serving delicious food with plenty of veggie options, I'd happily recommend this place or take my family and friends on another occasion. After tasty starters, I ate the Gaeng Khiow Waan Pak (Veggie Green Curry) and requested extra spice with a side of Steamed Jasmine Rice, and my partner Dee had the Pad Mee (Thai egg noodles stir-fried with bean sprouts, carrots, leeks and spring onions). If you don't want to pay for a bottle of water make sure to specify that tap water is fine or a bottle is automatic. I ordered the vegetable tempura which consisted of broccoli, mushrooms, green and red peppers, carrots, zucchini, and baby corn. It was an interestingly good mix with a sweet chili sauce. For the main course I ordered the Sea Bass which was cooked perfectly. They brought out the whole fish but was easy to take apart. The sweet sauce that came with it was also really tasty along with some sticky rice. It's a great family resturaunt, make sure to have a reservation in the summer on the weekends. Weekdays seem fairly open to just walk in.

I feel like an absolute fucking bellend tbh, spending all my time in fucking yumyums (which has the world's stupidest name and is only fun coz they have those tables that sink into the floor but half the time they don't let you sit in them anyway) when this absolute solid gold TREASURE is one minute round the corner. Anyway, the window seat is right next to some cute fairy lights and flowers and shit. As per usual I embarrassed my dining partner - 2015 Elite Yelper, Luke Y - by announcing that if this was a tinder date he would definitely be getting laid. BE WARNED THOUGH - romantic as it is, that table is draughty as fuck whenever anyone goes out for a cigarette. The food is the most authentic Thai I've had outside of actual Thailand. We ordered like the fat fucks that we are, and had fish cakes, chicken satay, squid and some kind of stir fried pork. I also rate their masaman curry and kanom jeeb dumplings more highly than I can express in words, and their homemade ice creams are fleek af too plus they do cool flavours like coconut and pandan. Your whole experience here is going to be heightened immeasurably by the cuteness of the tiny Thai grandma that serves the food. I just want to kiss her all over her jolly little face. She brings you these little spearmint chewy sweets with your bill that instantly take on the exact texture of pre-chewed chewing gum when you eat them. Maybe they are chewing gum?
