Wandering the freezing streets of the Opera District on New Years Eve, all we could think about was hot soup. After being shoo'ed away from Bien Bien (they were open for a private party only, apparently) and a disappointingly bland experience at the higher rated Happy Noodle earlier in the week, we stumbled upon Noodle King. A quick search on yelp, we were skeptical (but then we checked TripAdvisor where they are rated much higher) and decided to give it a shot. Boy were we happy we did! Noodle soup redemption! Their Duck Noodle Soup was SO SATISFYING and flavorful. Note: actual roasted duck flavor, not sugary sweet weird broth like other places. It was reminiscent of Sam Woo if you're familiar with the restaurants from California. We also ordered the vietnamese raviolis (Lol which was Bánh Cuón Thit) - I was a little disappointed that this dish was microwaved, I could tell because it was clear instead of opaque and we also heard the microwave beep LOL but it was still decently tasty for being in a non-asian dense area. If I had the duck soup only, I would have given them all 5 stars but took one off bc of that appetizer.
