While visiting family in Mexico City, my dad and I found ourselves craving something other than Mexican food. We stumbled upon this pasta spot on a whim, not expecting much--but it completely surprised us. Our dishes were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was warm, the service welcoming, and the entire experience was exactly what we didn't know we needed. Would definitely be back, hopefully sooner than later.

Stopped in before heading to cathedral. One of the best carbonara's I have ever had. The minestrone was light and yummy. The staff was great even though they were packed. They set expectations for the wait which I loved. Enjoyed a nice bottle of wine and relaxed.

Rodrigo fue nuestro mesero y la persona más amable. Definitivamente regresaremos. La comida estuvo deliciosa y el servicio, especialmente, fue increíble. ¡Gracias por una experiencia fantástica!

Close to our hotel in Centro Historico is a small alley Italian spot with friendly service and a large pasta menu. The moment we sat down on their outdoor seating, they brought water for our puppy and a bread basket with butter, oil, vinegar and parmesan cheese. My five-year-old daughter loved her spaghetti and my pasta with mushrooms in a cream sauce was tasty! They sell all types of water and Pepsi products.

Located in the historic center of CDMX, this Italian restaurant was a major surprise and hit with all of us. We picked it at random as we walked by and I have to say the food was so good, I checked in on Yelp and saved it for future stops the next time I'm in the city. I had the spinach ravioli with bolognese sauce. My favorite thought was the mushroom soup.

Nice place in centrol district if you craving pasta. Place is super lowkey and cozy. The pasta is decent, maybe on the oily side. Came here on two occasions. Pesto pasta was ok, a bit too oily. The seafood linguine is better. Had dry martini and negroni, both are great.

The bruschetta was good, but everything else was sadly just mediocre. I honestly could have replicated our dishes at home with a much better outcome. The staff is very friendly, so that's a plus. I wonder if there is an Italian chef? Their standards are usually very high.

It was- spaghetti carbonara, pulpo carpaccio, penne bolonesa and ravioli 4 queso

This place, it's a small, cozy and delicious find in Mexico centro- the food was amazing, delicious and the service was really good, considering it seems they were short staffed, be patient and expect a delicious surprise! Ps- food was soo good I forgot to take more pictures..

My friends and I spent 10 days in CDMX, and this ended up being our least favorite meal of the trip. None of the dishes were bad, but it really wasn't anything to write home about either. There wasn't a single item that felt memorable or worth going back for. On a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a solid 6.5. Given the incredible food scene in CDMX and the price point here, this is a place I'd likely skip in the future.

Not flashy for the sake of it, just really thoughtful cooking where the ingredients actually get to speak. The seasoning was dialed in across the board, which is usually where places like this can miss, but they didn't. Everything tasted clean, balanced, and precise. Technique was clearly there, but never forced. Nothing felt overworked or trying too hard to impress. It's the kind of meal where you realize halfway through that you're just enjoying everything without overanalyzing it. Wine list deserves a callout too. Really well curated, with options that pair naturally with the food instead of overpowering it. This is one of those spots that doesn't try to wow you with intensity. It wins you over with restraint and execution. And when it's done this well, that's more impressive. Would absolutely go back.

We also got the gnocchi with Gouda and the de fungi pasta! Both were sooooooo good!!! It looks so simple but it's packs the flavor!! Also got the octopus risotto with the side salad. I conducted my search, finding a few places online trying to locate a good spot in a city I've never visited. Gardela stood out immediately because of their communication, kindness, and dedication to making this event extra special for him and his friends. They truly created and planned the perfect event for the group and I truly could not be more grateful. Onto the food (their honest reviews)! They said it was a 11/10 dining experience overall. The food was incredible and amazing and these are some food critics traveling from major foodie cities. They planned a beautiful menu with Chicken Tortilla Soup, a variety of Empanadas, Picaña Steak and Skirt Steak, and Peasant Salad and Fries as sides. They said the soup was super delicious and flavorful. They said the steak was absolutely phenomenal and tender, it was very high quality meat. Also the salad really stood out as it was super fresh and crisp. Then they plated a beautiful dessert assortment as well as well as special happy birthday and bachelor messages to make the celebration extra special. The cocktails were also super delicious as well. They left the meal with their hearts and bellies very full. From everything, from the planning, to the the presentation of food, the service, and food quality, the team at Gardela went above and beyond. I really could not have picked a better place and now I am jealous because I need to go try some of the steaks because they had my mouth watering! Overall, I would highly recommend going to this restaurant. They said they were seated in a private room too so it made the experience even more special. My sincerest thank you to the entire team at Gardela for making this event unforgettable!

The first night we focused on the steaks and they were absolutely delicious. Great quality meat, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The next night we came back and tried the pizza, which had a very authentic South American flavor and was just as enjoyable in a completely different way. The brisket tacos were also really good! Service was very good throughout, friendly, attentive, and professional without being overbearing. The wine list is extensive and impressive, with lots of excellent options from Argentina and Chile that pair perfectly with the food. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. Reservations are highly recommended because the restaurant gets busy. Another plus is the location, it is within walking distance of many hotels, including the Four Points by Sheraton. Excellent spot and absolutely worth repeating, clearly proven by the fact that we did.
