The work was completed efficiently and with great attention to detail, and they left our home spotless. The price was very reasonable, especially the level of detail they provided. We hired R Core Electric to do two jobs in our home: install recessed lighting in 2 rooms and…read moreinstall an electrical sub-panel + charger for our electric vehicle in our garage. The job itself was fine. They completed the work and everything seems to be ok. So why the 1-star rating: My issue with R Core is that we specifically asked them to pull a permit for the job they were doing. They charged us for said permit and told us they did. An inspector never came out to confirm the work. I reached out to R Core several times asking when an inspector would come out and I got no response. Finally I went online and searched our address to see if a permit was pulled and there is NO record of a permit being pulled for this job. I reached out again to RCore several times requesting a refund for the permit charge and they never responded. I find this very shady and I'm very upset that they charged me to pull a permit and didn't actually pull it. And that they have not responded to any of my emails. I also tried calling Roman directly and he never returned my calls either. I will never do business with them again.

I have to give a shout out to Precision Today, particularly to the Grayslake office, formerly…read moreMiller Area Heating and Cooling. They did an absolutely fantastic job installing a new furnace and a/c unit in my house. Communication lapses do happen, that would have taken 1 star off the review if that was it. But quoting 3x the price for as far as I can see a very similar unit is still mind boggling. My quoting agent sold the known higher costs in general as the value of the 100% satisfaction guarantee, but from what I've read in other reviews, people are having a hard time getting covered repairs or replacements done at all. Again the person contacting me to try to resolve my concerns seemed very sincere, but I still would NOT consider using Precision Today as my HVAC hardware or service provider. Precision Today purchased Miller's Area Heating, which was highly recommended by two different friends. I requested a quote from Precision re: a replacement boiler for the radiant baseboard system in my house. After a good phone response the first day, I had no confirmation to set up the actual quote visit. After a mid-day call to them, they gave me a 3;30-5:00 window that day. At 5:55 I got a call saying the agent was on my doorstep. After reviewing my system, I was quoted $22,000, AFTER DISCOUNTS. My research indicated it should be about $4.000- $9,000 for a new boiler and install. I then read many Yelp reviews and saw reports similar to my experience; bad communication and very very high quotes and charges for relatively simple repairs/replacements. Also bad reports on following through with their lofty guarantees, which I mention because those are the reported reasoning behind their admittedly high prices. Very unfortunate.
