Gerald is not only incredibly skilled and knowledgeable but also one of the most interesting people you'll meet. If you have a chance, ask him about the photo clipping of the old Stapleton Airport and former President George H.W. Bush. You're in for a real treat. I came here for a simple battery replacement (quick service at fair prices) but he also offers restoration services as well.

As I was there in the shop talking to Gerald, his assistant popped off the back of the watch and it started running. I agreed to leave the watch with Gerald for cleaning; he said 1.5 to 2 months. After more than 2 months of no contact from Gerald including not returning 2 phone calls and 1 email, I went to retrieve my watch. Nothing had been done but Gerald promised he would get to it within 2 weeks. He called me 2/3 days later (2nd week of Nov) saying the watch looked good but was "sticky" and needed cleaning. I finally retrieved my watch on 1/8/26 after he finally cleaned it. However, he also had broken a spring related to returning the second hand on the watch's stopwatch function (he said it was "weak") and he had polished off the lower half of the numbers on the bezel destroying the tachymeter function. No offer of paying for repairs although he did not cash the check I gave him for the cleaning. I would definitely NOT give him any more business.

The gentleman whose name escapes me, told me that he would not recommend servicing the watch at this time and that it was running well within an acceptable tolerance. The watch had no service history from the seller I purchased it from, so I fully expected it to need servicing right off the bat. It was a pleasant surprise and I very much appreciated Cherry Creek Watch Co's transparency, they very easily could have taken advantage of me and taken my money. I will return when a service IS needed! Or maybe the next time I am searching for a special timepiece.

I was doing some spring cleaning and found an old Omega watch my dad had given me. I couldn't find any information about the watch online. I also tried contacting online watch stores, but none of them were helpful. I eventually brought my watch into a local area watch store, but they had, for some reason, forgotten about the appointment. They also wanted $150 for a watch evaluation. However, upon entering Cherry Creek Watch Company, I was immediately greeted. The horologists, Gyles and Nick, immediately got to work on evaluating my watch. They found the model name and value of my watch. They also took apart the watch and showed me the internals, as well as testing the timing of the watch. Moreover, they re-sized the watch for me. All this was done free of charge. I'm personally not a fan or collector of watches. However, the top-notch service provided to me demonstrates that Cherry Creek Watch Company is a business you can trust and depend on.

In the last few years, I have had two watches fixed expeditiously and at a reasonable cost. I have a handful of watches that I just wanted batteries put in, a Skaagen and Movado watch that I wanted batteries, cleaned also fully appraised because of their value, a couple expensive pocket watches, and some random jewelry that I received from my grandfather. My grandparents didn't buy cheap jewelry over the years. So I wanted someone to take a look and give me an idea of value for my lawyers and for insurance. I was talking to a lovely lady who told me the price of their services and asked if I could leave everything and they would take care of it and determine what was worth anything and what is just sentimental and would take care of the watches. Then Scott Rettmer stepped in and proceeded to make me feel like crap for wasting their time. Told me that he wouldn't buy any of my items and I was just wasting their time. I was floored. I was willing to spend my money for their services and was happy to be patient, and then Scott stepped in and lost a good customer. I have a friend who is a jeweler in Wray, CO and, despite them being 2 1/2 hours away, I will gladly take my business there where they care about their customers!
