The meats on display were great but didn't have the usual ribs, wings, chicken breasts, etc however a friendly hello from the butchers, I asked whether he had anything... Before I knew it the guy was chopping up chickens for us, had wings marinated and bagged up, burgers stacked, fresh sausages; was so glad I asked. Proper shop local experience here! The shop also stocks fruit and vegetables as well as household items plus basics like milk and bread... Oh an disposable BBQ, perfect I'll take 2 :-) Really great find as I was driving past, wasn't on Yelp but hoping my business add efforts will help other tourists and non locals find this great local butcher. There's a lot of folk who have to past through Athlone to get to their holiday home / river cruise so, folks if you need supplies, hook up with this place.

Stopped by on my recent trip to kilkenny and discovered they still supply there own beef from there…read more nearby farm,purchased a couple of well marbled filets and 2 14ounce T_bones which would beat any steak house,

The displays offer everything from some already prepped meat options like marinated, skewered, rolled and/or stuffed... Plus a great selection of herbs. spices and sauces. The meat was all super in quality, great cuts across the beef, pork and poultry! Of course what makes this place 5 star is the super range, having tried 2 butchers, we got 3rd time lucky with this place as they had stock of beef brisket.. The other two places didn't even know what we were asking for this, this place... oh they knew, they do a lot of their butchering on site so whatever random piece of the animal takes your fancy, they got it! Prepared what we needed and gave us some great tips
