They seemed understaffed, and as a result, a little disorganized. We we standing right in front of the host stand, but it took 10 mins for them to take down our information. When they did, we watched them write down "blue coat" as their method for notifying us that our table was ready lol. Fortunately, no one else was wearing a blue coat, and we were seated after about 30 minutes. The restaurant is bright and spacious. It's a very pleasant place. The brunch menu is very reasonably priced. I split the kickstart and burger bowl with my husband. The kickstart was very basic, which was what we wanted. It had toast, bacon, poached eggs, tomatos and avocado puree. My only only qualm was that the avocado puree tasted a little stale - like it maybe wasn't made that day. I have a lot to say about the burger bowl, which was having a major identify crisis. I think it was trying to be a salad. There was a large slab of goat cheese on top of the burger, but the salad underneath it had large chunks of feta. Feta and goat don't go together. Pick one. The burger was thick and had potential. It would have been better if it wasn't well done, but we weren't asked how we wanted it cooked. I know a lot of places won't cook anything rarer than medium, but a well done burger is a travesty. The burger was served on a bed of mostly inedible greens - you know, the kind that look like artificial plants that your body would have some difficulty digesting. It was a greek salad with olives, feta, tomatoes, and onions, so you'd expect greek dressing to be an option, but it wasn't. You get either balsamic, tomato relish, or pesto. It was a strange meal, but not a bad one. When we were finished and ready to leave, it took us a while to chase down our server. They were very busy, so we understood. I'd come back for brunch, but I'm much more interested in trying their dinner tapas.

We were fortunate to experience Le Basement during our time in Dublin…read more It's located on the second floor of a restaurant in a small office sized room with a bar, sofa seats, and a few dining tables. When we came they had a band already playing. It was honestly like an American jam sess where people can come up and sing and perhaps play if the request is honored. My husband asked the guitarist if he could join and the guitarist was gracious enough to loan him his guitar and pick as we are foreigners and didn't pack his guitar for our trip. He was able to play for about three songs and it was amazing to see the two cultures mix and mingle on stage. You could tell that the vibe changed throwing him in the mix. I would imagine this magical mix occurs each time they invite any unique talent that visits Le Basement. The drinks were inexpensive, the environment was welcoming, and the music was soulful.

Located on Dame Lane…read morejust across from the popular 4 Dame Lane, Le Basement offers a unique evening experience for Dublin. Presented in a similar style to the famous Parisian Jazz clubs, you descend the stairs to a small and atmospheric room with soft lighting and comfortable leather seating. There is decent quality beer on tap and array of the usual alcohol options available with a decent looking menu if you fancy a bite to eat (although I did not). Most evenings around the weekend there is a live Jazz act and, on the night I was there, we had a delightful lady singer with a fantastic voice and a great support band. Table service is available and the staff are friendly and prompt. There is a cover charge ranging from €5 to €8 depending on who is playing. Le Basement is part of Le Cirk - a hotel/bar on Dame Street. If you are looking for a romantic spot to take your partner or just a place to appreciate some quality jazz tunes, then look no further. I highly recommend Le Basement.

The two owners were so wonderful, and both came to speak with us by the end of the dining experience. The food was unreal. Such good options with so many different styles of cuisine. Everything we ate was so impressive and tasty. I would recommend specifics, but I'd be listing out the 20 menu items we ordered. Their drinks were just as fabulous as the food. Great vibe in the place as well. Good lighting and fun environment right in the heart of Dublin. You seriously can not go wrong. DO YOURSELF A HUGE FAVOR AND MAKE A RESERVATION!

Vanessa (one of the owners) is there helping you out and welcoming you as if you're family. Lovely atmosphere, honestly. We ordered these tapas for a party of two: chicharrones, chorizo frito y morcilla, carrillada de cerdo (pork cheeks), bomba de la Barcelona, and patatas bravas. I can't pick a favorite (but the pork cheeks, and the chorizo are up there!), but every tapa was incredible and well executed. Take your time, be adventurous, and explore the menu. Portions are small enough that you can order many things to share. Paired the tapas with a wonderful Tempranillo, and a Cava Sangria. They did start us with a free sample of their tinto de verano as well, in true Spanish fashion. Definitely worth visiting while in Dublin!
