If I could, I would rate Dr Laura at Zero. She was my obstetrician for a very short period of time,…read morebut thankfully I made a switch because there is no way I would have let this woman to perform a c-section on me! She is dishonest, incompetent, unprofessional & uncaring doctor. Insurance: Lied that my ins will not cover the ultrasound. Made me pay $275 out of the pocket knowing I'm under government assistance. As I found out later - my ins does cover it, she just didn't want to wait long for the claim to go through. Since I was on government assistance - I had to borrow money from my mother to cover the ultrasound. For my 2nd ultrasound I told her I can't pay out of the pocket and she referred me to the hospital to schedule ultrasound there instead. If it was an option the first time ?! Why didn't she say so? Why be so shady ?! I'm still trying to obtain docs for my 1st ultrasound, so I can get money back from my ins. Company. Months later, I'm still waiting for my paperwork. Dr. Laura's office is coming up with excuses why they can't give it to me. "Printer is broken" - was the last excuse. I hope she doesn't double bill! Made me pay and then submitting the claim to my ins company ! I'll get to the bottom of this. My visits summaries: I Asked office multiple times to provide me with summaries of my visits. Nope. I was informed that they don't do that. What? Again - I consider that shady. And everything they do at the office is paper base. No emails, no patient portals, no electronic systems for appointments. Probably she reports less patience & less money made to IRS to save moneys. That's not the fact, but my guess for sure. Corona I asked her to wear mask when she came into the room to meet me for an appointment. I was there with my 15 months old baby and I was wearing mask. She told me that she doesn't have mask and she is not going to wear it and additionally told me that I can leave my 15 months old baby outside of the room if I don't feel comfortable with her being without mask Service Never once asked me how I'm feeling, what I'm eating, if I feel baby at all. Nothing ! But she sure asked me about my finances and what I'm doing for a living and if the father of the baby financially supports me. Follow-up When corona quarantine started I called the office multiple times just to see if they are open. It always went straight to the voice mail. I left messages to get back to me when they can. I figured they are not operating, so I wasn't expecting a phone call at that time. Additionally, I paged the doc two times, but never heard back. As expecting mother I had questions about my delivery, hospital and corona virus. Two months later with not hearing anything from anyone, I randomly called the office again - only to find out they were always operating and were not closed for quarantine. When I came to see her she actually remarked that I was absent for a long time & that I need prenatal care ! Oh really ??? I felt like saying - I wasn't in because you and your staff are returning phone calls. But I just let it go, because I knew that was the last time I want to see her.

To be honest, the doctor and staff were always very nice, but can't give them more than 1 star…read morebecause of all the mistakes and issues we had. The biggest issue was she knew we were moving out of state and needed a glucose test before moving. The doctor pushed back the planned appointment until the day before we were leaving, then failed to call when the courier never picked up the blood sample from her office. We had to put off our out of state move, and take off more time from work so we could go back in to get tested again. This was just one of several other issues we had. Never seen a doctor make so many mistakes...unprofessional.

'Tis the season to be jolly AND also to get the flu ! Jolly I am not YET, but the flu has struck…read morethis wee little yelper. I have been sick now for well over 2 weeks first with the flu and now a very stubborn upper respiratory infection. Seeing that the end of the year is approaching and my sick self was also due for my annual "end of the year checkup" with Dr. Loiacono. That's exactly what brought me in today. I love everything about this office and the staff! Upon walking in you are greeted by the wonderful ladies behind the desk. Larolla and Jackie are the sweetest. They truly make you feel welcome. They take the time to get to know all of the patients. There's never a ridiculous long wait here. The nurses are just fabulous! Dr. Loiacono never makes you feel rushed during your time with him. He's truly a gem! I had routine lab work done (note: all lab work is done here in the office), I was also fasting for 11 hours so Doc could run a full cholesterol check as well and I also got my flu shot. Dr. Loiacono, as always, said that my lab results would be ready the next day and they were. The following day I received a phone call from Dee the nurse with my results. Charting here at this office is all done the old fashioned way... all hand written, yellow files that are flowing very organized in filing cabinets behind the receptionist desk. Now I can only review on Dr. Loiacono because I've only built my patient/doctor relationship with him and I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about him and how much he has done for me. All 3 docs here do work together. So if for instance- if Dr. Loiacono were to be away for example and I needed medical assistance then obviously one of his other associates would cover for him. I've heard great things as well about the other docs here. You won't find a digital blood pressure cuff here. They have the old school blood pressure cuff pumps attached to the wall in each exam room. You also won't find computers in the exam rooms nor Dr. Loiacono looking at the screen the entire time you are talking to him. Your time with the doctors her means just that. Here at West Suburban Family Practice Associates you as a patient come first and that's the way it should be. That's the way it should be everywhere else but unfortunately that's not always the case. The doctors here are not walking out the door while you are still talking or asking questions. You matter! This office truly is a rarity and one of a kind. Very few doctors offices's still exist just like this- Meaning where they do everything by hand and they don't have the high tech computer systems and equipment. In fact doctors of small business such as this one, choose to pay the state federal government an extra stipend per month to maintain the practice to be kept just like this!!! Which isn't cheap on their end and no you as a patient are not charged more for that choice on your end as well. In theory why fix something if it isn't broken, right? All of those hospital CEOs that changed and forced doctors to do things a "their way", have no medical training whatsoever. Their just businessmen/women making huge decisions that effect the lives of patients everywhere. So I applaud doctors like Dr. Loiacono and his practice for not giving in. If you are looking for a fantastic family doctor/medical physician for either you and your family and even your little one too go here!! They're great with children as well! *They accept a ton of different insurances. I'd recommend calling first of course to make sure you are in their network.*

I have to say, in this new generation you would expect to see advanced equipment at doctors offices…read morethroughout the world. Well not here, this office gives you the feeling of how things used to be. I love that feeling, as you walk into the office you can smell the old office. The front door squeaks as soon as you open it. Nevertheless the office itself is inside a small colonial building which right away makes you wonder how the inside would be. As I opened the door to what would my new permanent doctors office I was greeted by a wonderful receptionist. I gave her my name and she asked me to fill out some paperwork. I was shocked to find out that it was like the old days where I was a kid and my dad had to fill out paperwork. My last doctor had a tablet where I filled everything up. Not this doctors office. They do it the old way or as they say the good way. Where the receptionist sits there are files on files of patients informations alphabetically in order. I was there to see Dr. L, he's a wonderful family doctor and I am sure going to be back. I told him I would become his patient. He also writes everything down on actual paper and listens well to you. Not like other offices where they are typing away and staring at a computer. So for now my fellow yelpers be sure to check this Drs office if you are ever in need of a good office.
