Armine, the owner, personally did my treatment and she was amazing very professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and made me feel completely comfortable throughout the entire service. The space is located inside a nail salon, but don't let that stop you. The area is very clean, and the treatment is absolutely worth it! The staff is not rude but they are not particularly friendly either if that makes sense. You can tell they are more focused on getting the job done than creating much of an experience. Overall it works in a pinch if they have availability, but it would not be my first choice.

She is gentle, detailed and a true artist! I was lucky enough to sit next to her other client who had a beach themed set of nails that was so creative and fun! Desiree made me feel comfortable and right at home with her kindness and hospitality. She even made me a special tea with orange peels and honey. I love my pedi and my mani is totally unique and beautiful. She spent time doing nail art in cat eye paint and then put a chrome over it. The effect is very subtle and unusual in a good way. I'll definitely be back and will tell friends about this salon right next door to Sherman Oaks (fraction of the price) and Latina owned too! :)) This is exactly the type of small business I want to support. They're doing excellent work and it's family owned and operated, which feels warm and friendly, not stiff and corporate.

As…read moreof about sometime in April or early May, the owner of Guru Nail Bar, Lily, sold this location to a new owner, whose name is also Lily. The new owner, Lily, has renamed the shop to The Beauty Stop. So, if you've been here anytime since mid-April/early-May, you've been reviewing the new shop, The Beauty Stop, under new ownership, not Guru Nail Bar. The owner of Guru Nail Bar, Lily, has another location in Sherman Oaks called Beautevo on Ventura Blvd. Now, I've been to this location when it was Lily 1 and Guru Nail Bar, and then again once it was Lily 2 and The Beauty Stop. I had been going to Guru Nail Bar for my regular appts about every 2 weeks since Nov '23. I stopped in on a whim around Thanksgiving and got the best manicure I've ever had. So I decided to keep going there even though I live nowhere near it. I went as usual in early April and then I was out of town for several weeks. When I got back, I went in for my usual upkeep. It took me two visits to realize the place had been sold and was under new ownership but I knew the instant I walked in for that first appt in early May that something was radically different. The vibe had completely changed. There were new faces but that didn't faze me. It was the energy in the salon - it was a bit more frenetic. Whereas prior the space was calm and chill. I also noticed that while my nails always looked great, they weren't lasting as long. So, I hunted down Lily 1 and her other shop (I knew she had another location because she had referenced it on other occasions). It's Beautevo in Sherman Oaks. I went in for an appt last weekend and it was chill, and calm, and I got the best manicure, as usual. So, just know that if you're coming here to leave a review you're not doing it for Guru Nail Bar. It's for The Beauty Stop. As for my 5 star review, that's for when it was still Guru Nail Bar pre-transition. I'd give The Beauty Stop 4 stars.

All she cares about is money as she accepts anyone who walks in through those doors but yet doesn't give a rats ass about people who have actual appointments. Yet again, today I called for an appointment with Amy. Unfortunately again the owner answered. She gave me a time for 7:40. & she said Amy will be free. 7:10 came around, I called to see if Amy IS actually going to be available because I don't want to go & wait again for 40 minutes like the last time. But this time the owners sister answered the phone and she said wait let me confirm with Amy. She confirmed with Amy & she got back on the line with me saying 'no Amy can't take you at 7:40 because she's been busy all day today but you can come at 9pm'. I'm sorry, what? 9pm? Your boss sets up appointments for her employees at certain times yet last minute you want to change the time from 7:40 to 9pm? Never will I be stepping a foot in this salon again after the amount of disrespect I've received from the owner herself. I can go on & on about lot of other things I've encountered within the last 4yrs of being a customer here but I'd rather let the Better Business Bureau handle it moving forward. Amy, if you see this. I told them I need a pedicure and an eye brow wax. Right away they got the tub ready and my feet were already being soaked. This nail salon is lacking customer service in some ways. It's not that bad. I used to go to this salon quite often. Prices went up, they are talking in their own language right in front of you and you can sense that they are talking about you. That is unprofessional and rude. I have told that to them before. A lot of the old nail technicians are no longer there. I normally go here to do waxing and they do a FANTASTIC JOB!! Courtney is very good with everything that she does. My pedicure was done by Tracy and she did a great job. If you pay with cash, they don't charge you extra. For todays visit I paid $43.00 cash. Since my regular salon is closed on Tuesdays, I decided to give them another chance. It's a full salon and they specialize in Manicure, Manicure/Pedicure, Waxing, Nail fill-in, Nail polish change, and; removal of color and do nail repair. Manicure/Pedicure is $49.00. I think I will stick to my other salon when they are open. Place was somewhat clean, has a gender neutral restroom and has a parking lot that's shared with other businesses.
