It was my first time in, and I still felt the same way as when I'm welcomed into the home of my friends. After talking to the staff, you learn that they work there because they truly love the animals. I don't mean they take good care of the animals, I mean they truly love ALL of the animals. While I was there, one staff memeber was cleaning/transferring a spider home and the spider bit him. His reply was "so cute!". I purchased a bunch of crickets (150) and the staff bagged them in 5 separate bags. This gives them room to move around and breathe. It keeps them alive longer, but also shows the level of care the staff has for ALL the animals, even feeder crickets. I've purchased crickets for over a decade and this is the first place Ive ever been to that didn't just dump all of them into a single bag. Finally, the last thing that really stood out, was the placements all the animal habitats. They are housed in a way that the animals can't see into neighboring habitats. Reptiles don't like to see other reptiles. It causes a lot of stress due to predator/pray relations, as well as territorial issues. It's nice that Wild Things cares more about the animals, than the bottom dollar. Clean. Good staff. Caring staff. Competitive prices. What more can you ask for? Wild Things is about 45 min out of my way there, and 45 min back. There are closer places, but Wild Things is worth the drive because I truly feel they love scaled family as much as I do.
