Kaila and Mack were the best and very patient with us. They educated us on how to properly hold our first gun and had really good recommendations as to which guns we should try. Being from California, this experience was like no other and thrilling. I greatly recommend coming here if you're looking for fun and safe time shooting some guns!!! We will definitely be coming back next time we're in town and purchasing a membership!

I was very disappointed with my recent experience at Shoot Smart West Freeway…read more Since the range was remodeled, they have removed the flat shooting bench or countertop that used to be in each lane. That surface gave you a safe, convenient place to lay your firearm between loads while keeping it pointed downrange. The only surface available to us was a small Rubbermaid-style cart about three and a half feet tall. This made working with and sighting in long guns extremely awkward and nearly impossible. The range was also uncomfortably hot. An employee explained that the air conditioning was running on high, but the exhaust system that removes gun smoke and fumes also pulls the cooled air out almost as quickly as it enters. I understand the importance of proper ventilation, but the temperature made shooting very uncomfortable. The retail inventory was also ridiculously understocked. I was looking for tinted shooting glasses, magazines for several firearms, speed loaders, and a barrel-cooling fan so I could safely cool my rifle before returning it to its case. They had none of these items. When I asked about the lack of merchandise, an employee told me their inventory manager was not doing a very good job. On the positive side, all the employees were friendly and courteous. The gunsmith was especially helpful and was able to sight in the rifle I had been struggling with very quickly. Unfortunately, friendly employees and a capable gunsmith were not enough to overcome the poor range setup, excessive heat, and severely limited inventory. I will be trying a different shooting range the next time I go shooting.

Why would they build a school in the line of fire of a gun range? Everybody knows what will happen…read morenext. The gun range, which was there long before the school, will be forced to close. It'll be just like all the Race tracks we've lost due to housing developments complaining of noise. The news media is already making the range the bad guy.

Contrary to the opinion of "Ryan" this is the safest outdoor range I've been to. It's been there…read morefor 45 years and I've been going to it for more than 20. Everyone who works there is professional with safety as the literal top priority. I taught my kids to shoot there. In past ~5 years or so, builders have built homes about a mile away. Northwest ISD has built a school. Country acreage and fields still surround on all sides. Two bullets were found at the new school, and the assumption is that it was bullets from the public range which has tall berms and does not directly have line of aim to the school. This range's presence is not a safety issue. For folks are concerned about this, consider having NISD foot the bill to build bigger berms or indoor shooting range for Quail Creek. Why not? NISD is already spending our tax money like water.

I'm Christian too, but that's no way to run a business. I asked him to leave and he stood at my doorstep and continued to argue.
