I was so grateful to be able to replace my massage therapist. I found Howard with White Ginger Healing right in HILO through my mom who is a Breast Cancer Survivor!! Howard is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist with several years experience in Oncology Massage...it is downright amazing that I can talk to him about my chemo drugs and he knows of the side-effects and techniques to help me handle them. He knows the pathology of different cancers from a trained medical point of view, and he is a treasure chest of information on how to improve my lifestyle in general to help combat side-effects of treatments. Before I was diagnosed I was half-way through my Masters in Chinese Medicine. I was so pleased to discover that Howard uses acupressure points that correspond to the meridians that may need a boost - like for a weakened immune system, or a release - like for high toxicity in your liver. For all that I do to destroy cancer cells in my body, the one thing I must do on a weekly basis is give back to my body through massage. When I came in she took the time to understand my injuries and listened really intently to what it was that I was looking for and needed. She then went about her massage and was able to find all of my pain spots that needed working without me saying anything. She is obviously very skilled and experienced. It was not only a therapeutic massage but it was very relaxing. I had a 90 minute massage and did not get extra flared up the next day as with some therapists that work you too much and then the next day you pay the price! It takes a master therapist to understand the balance. I have definitely found the perfect fit for me and I couldn't be happier!

I checked it out got a day pass and used all their amenities before and after my massage. I loved the extreme hot and cold temperatures they kept. They have a nice and hot jacuzzi, infrared sauna, steam sauna with eucalyptus with temp of 110. Nice and hot just the way I like it. Cold plunge tubs are 45 just cold enough to benefit a real cold plunge. It was great. My massage therapist Habib was amazing he used a technique called body tempering to soothe my aches and pains from chronic tendiopathy. He uses a steel bar bell. If you don't mind a little pain and like getting your facia scraped and rolled out then this technique is just for you. One of the best spa and bathing experiences I ever had . I have been to many spas and bath houses around the world. It was really great. Tips bring your own towel or it will cost you 5 bucks. If you do get a massage come prior and stay after your massage and soak in the tubs and you can shower after.
