We enjoyed fresh extravagant breakfasts & wonderful staff. Our private guide picked us up at 9:00 in the morning and took us to the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage which has saved over 60 orphan infant calves that would've otherwise perished. Once they're grown, they're relocated. The Karen Blixen Home and Museum was once a farm owned by the Danish author. The movie out of Africa was based on her autobiography by the same title. We sat in her beautiful coffee plantation for a Babette's Feast buffet lunch. Our tour of Karen's house was interesting. Our visit to the giraffe center with 125 endangered Rothschild giraffes was memorable. This is an environmental education center where we were able to feed fully grown giraffes from a raised platform. We heard a presentation about the care for these giraffes and we're given pellets to hand feed them. We had plenty of time to explore and purchased beautiful crafts and bead work done by locals. We moved onto our first safari in Tarangire Park. We spent over eight hours in our land cruiser surrounded by herds of elephants, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, baboons, monkeys, lions ... the birds, the baobab tree of life, the chandelier cactus... Accommodations have been luxurious and absolutely beautiful. We wake up to hot cappuccino in the morning, our laundry is done, gourmet meals are served with wines, and the grounds are lush yet exotic. I hate to go home!

We had an outstanding all-day tour with Everglades Day Safari and couldn't recommend it more…read more Thanks to the owner, Pete, we were able to squeeze it in on our last day in the Miami area, even though our group didn't meet the minimum number of guests. Our guide, Marc, was energetic, extremely knowledgeable, and very considerate of our individual interests, which made the experience feel personal rather than scripted. Pickup was easy and convenient at a location near the Miami airport, and the clean, comfortable van made the drive across southern Florida along the Tamiami Trail enjoyable. The airboat ride was a highlight--we got up close and personal with alligators sunning themselves despite the chilly weather, which was unforgettable. The day ended with a phenomenal boat ride with an excellent captain on the west coast through and around the mangrove islands, where we saw dolphins, white pelicans, cormorants, and an impressive variety of other waterfowl. Overall, this was a highly educational and entertaining day from start to finish. A perfect way to experience the Everglades and Florida's unique ecosystems.

You can't beat the price and included shuttle to and from the airport. Brightline is too damn high to begin with, extra $10 for the shuttle which doesn't run late so you have to uber to the train station. Nah son...tri-rail it is! Even with their some of dirty looking clientele I'm wrong for that but I ain't wrong.

I've really been all over the world and I can say without hesitation that Wilton Manors is one of…read moremy favorite of all cities because of its incredible diversity, sense of community, open acceptance, easy going life style, and particularly for me, because it's loaded with gay bars. Matter of fact, of all the gay bars in the city and there are a lot of them, there is only one straight bar, Red's, but about as gay friendly as any straight bar can get. So, it's really nice to know how it came to be and how it evolved which is where Wilton Manors Historical Society comes into play. The history of Wilton Manors isn't very lengthy, actually not much to it, but enough to hold ones interest. The Society will explain it all from its beginnings back in the 1890's with early settler William Collier and its first significant 345 acre plat by E. J. Willingham in 1925 right on down to the present day. The Society has all sorts of books, records and early day pictures of Wilton Manors and the all-volunteer offices and members are more than will to share the stories behind each and every one of them. As the Society meets or sets up at different places it's wise to phone in or check their web site for current information. As a membership society, $25/year and may be paid online by clicking "join/donate" on the main web page. The one thing about the history of Wilton Manors that sets it apart and makes unique, unlike any other city, is that present day Wilton Manors came into being, developed around and because of a gay bar, Georgies Alibi, though I haven't heard the Society go into that facet with any detail. As they really provide such a wonderful as well as valuable service to the community, or as they put it "Yesterday's history is today's reality," Five Stars.

They have special events throughout the year, including an orchid show and Christmas holiday wonderland. Guided and self guided house tours are available,$30-40, we opted for the grounds tour only, $15. The gardens are well shaded so even on a warm day our visit was comfortable.
