Due to the location there was lots of paperwork. "I"s to dot and "t"s to cross. Apparently there was a bit of communication between him and Nicole. Morning of departure: the hotel shuttle drops us prior to 5am check in. No signs just a couple people hanging out. Soon Nicole comes out and confirms we are in the right place. My dad acknowledges with her that they have been conversing over the last few days. There is much playful banter, but soon Nicole makes the announcement of what is needed and that it was time to check in. We made our way up as one big group. She got us all checked in while getting our luggage on the track and dealing with our"baggage" :-). She told us she would meet us at the terminal. Sure enough once she finished there she ended back up at the terminal. Here my dad was excitingly sharing details of our trip with her. She was so kind and chatted with him while we waited. When boarding was to start she made sure to help the wheel chair individual get down a flight of steps and into the shuttle waiting for us. That took time and once we finished there she helped us all board and jokingly apologized with me about our cancelled fishing trip that my dad had shared with her. We laughed together. She did everything but drive the shuttle to the plane. What a great face for this company. She made sure everything was done on her gigantic list. She knew everyone's names, pilots, drivers and everything. Once in the air the flight attendant was kind and was the only one for the plane. She was our attendant both ways and this was an excellent airline. I wish all my flights were as easy and stress free as this one.

The 1 bedroom I needed up with was just the right size. The place came with toiletries, a tv in the family room and bedroom, a nice sized bathroom, beach towels, beach chairs, and an umbrella! We met at the Westin Hotel and started at its eatery, the Lona Cocina Tequileria, where we had salsa (I was not a fan, too smokey and not tomatoey enough) and chips, a chicken taco (one of the best items on the tour), and a tasty margarita. Next, our tour guide Kat took us to the Takato in the Conrad Hotel where we were served delicious, melt-in-your-mouth sushi; angry chicken; and a Korean Zombie alcoholic drink that was so strong I had to trade it in for a mocktail. (Yes, I don't like my drinks too strong.) I was looking forward to the bao but the restaurant did not provide that on the menu for our group. Our tour guide was left apologizing for the missing item, though it wasn't her fault. At the Wild Thyme in the Atlantic Hotel we had coconut shrimp and conch fritters. We were limited to one each of the two items. The fruity alcoholic drink tasted somewhat like a pina colada (but I forgot the name). We topped off our tour with a trip to Archibalds Village Bakery, where we were given either a blueberry scone or a cream scone. I would have much preferred to choose my bakery item (like we did at Hollywood Donut on the Las Olas tour). Nevertheless, we had a fun few hours with a superb tour guide, and we were full enough from our tastings that all we had for dinner was some fresh fruit.

Ft Lauderdale Beach food tour was unique for "seasoned" foodies ... 3 of 4 stops served full-size alcoholic beverages. Food was eclectic and attempted to highlight what the chef might be "known" for ... Marta also presented just the right amount of information about the area and of course, the restaurant. Would highly recommend.
