Have almost always stayed in Wildwood so there is a Chinese restaurant I've always gone too in North Wildwood which is very good. Stayed in Villas this year and was looking for something closer and found #1 Chinese Kitchen. Was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good. We got the chicken with broccoli combos (1 with pork fried rice and 1 with shrimp fried rice) and 1 order of pork fried rice as well. The combo came with egg rolls as well. The chicken with broccoli was on par with North Jersey. The egg rolls were very good. Shrimp fried rice had large shrimp and was tasty. Will be returning here in the future for sure. Been a customer for years now after multiple disappointments in Chinese food around the lower Cape May County area. This is by far the best Chinese takeout around. Based on some suggestions, I gave No 1 a try - I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special along with an egg roll. The KPC was layered over a decent amount of yellow (fried not) rice. Lots of Chinese veggies along with peanuts on top. Had the right amount of spice/heat level for my tastes. We go to cape May every summer and are always on the lookout for good takeout. No 1 did not disappoint. First of all we got enough food to feed 9 people and is was just under $100 which I thought was very reasonable. The hot and sour soup was one of the best we ever had. They also had crab Rangoon which is not always available in other restaurants. I had the sesame chicken and it was excellent. This is my favorite Chinese takeout in this area. The pork fried rice is something we order every time as well as the dumplings and the egg rolls. The house lo mein is very good too. Well, It is not the worst place or the best place. For starters the fried chicken, pork fried rice, are very greasy (taste is good but heart attack is likely). Next, the Curry chicken or Curry Shrimp. (LOTS of vegetables and no poultry?) The Lo Mein is average. Sweet and Sour chicken and the Beef n broccoli is good. The 3 stars are earned because of food otherwise, there is nothing more to this place....it has a few tables in a very small very brightly lit flourescent room where you can either call in to the abrupt person answering the phone or go in & feel the unfriendly nature at the counter. Once you get passed this, the place looks sloppy as you can see right into the kitchen which is right there at the counter. The food all arrives in nice & tight to go containers whether eating in or taking out...very helpful, can't leak & won't spill. Then you see & taste the food....the portions are HUGE, the value is pretty good & THE TASTE is very darn good for the most part. I do think that it could use a little more flavor in most dishes but the dishes taste individually well done & presented well. I LOVE that the food FILLS the container & is still visually nice to look at when you are ready to eat. The cooks get the entrees & apps well executed to their customers, US ....in that the individual pieces of ingredients in each dish are never overcooked or overdone like most places. I am not sure i would ever sit in there & eat, actually pretty sure I would not. It feels generally unsafe to even be in there. But if you are just popping in to pick up, easy & fast. I also do not think i would bring any kids in there, even to just pick up the food with you. Their menu is normal Chinese but with a few other items as well like wings, etc. It is worth going into for food but it would be nice if they could act a little friendlier like they are happy for the business, clean up their look ALOT so it is welcoming & presentable, and just be attentive to the whole package. read more

I lived in Cape May County until I was 30 and after I moved there is no other little Chinese hole in the wall place that I crave more than this place. Yes, it's greasy, and get ready to have your arteries checked after eating there, but it's a treat to be enjoyed once in a while. I was recently visiting family in Cape May and my mouth was watering just thinking about their Shrimp with Broccoli. In the all the years since I've moved away, I haven't been able to imitate the sauce they use for the Chicken, Shrimp, and Beef with Broccoli, no matter how many recipes I used. Since I was there recently, it tasted exactly like I remembered, and I couldn't have been happier. This place has been there for a long time and they even know some of the customers by name.
