Ordered from here via DoorDash while on vacation with my family. Food was fresh. I got a General Tso combo meal with chicken fried rice. Solid choice in the area. I enjoyed it! read more

No 1 Chinese Kitchen - General Tso combination - Chinese Near Me - Rio Grande, New Jersey

I order from this place all the time, however today coworkers and I ordered and the wonton soup broth had no flavor and the fried rice didn't have much flavor. I don't know if someone else is cooking but I was very disappointed. read more

Have almost always stayed in Wildwood so there is a Chinese restaurant I've always gone too in North Wildwood which is very good. Stayed in Villas this year and was looking for something closer and found #1 Chinese Kitchen. Was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good. We got the chicken with broccoli combos (1 with pork fried rice and 1 with shrimp fried rice) and 1 order of pork fried rice as well. The combo came with egg rolls as well. The chicken with broccoli was on par with North Jersey. The egg rolls were very good. Shrimp fried rice had large shrimp and was tasty. Will be returning here in the future for sure. It's cash only, the service was pleasant and food was done in 15 minutes. Located in a strip mall so plenty of parking. read more

The food was really good they have good service pretty friendly and the prices are pretty good read more

Food is good and prices are very reasonable. They only accept cash which is impediment at times.

Been a customer for years now after multiple disappointments in Chinese food around the lower Cape May County area. This is by far the best Chinese takeout around. Most importantly They have kept the high quality of their ingredients while many other restaurants backslide in quality after a few years. Great food, good prices and a pleasure to deal with. read more

Great food for the price! I got the shrimp lo mein lunch special and crab rangoons and loved it

Surprise! Not bad Chinese food in Rio Grande. We had four of the dinner meals, which came with entree, fried rice, and egg roll. No complaints from any of us. Place looks clean, and well run. read more

Food is awful. Not the same as it used to be. Greasy and dried up. I think there may be new owners or they are using something that does not tasted good. read more

I've tried many Chinese food places in this area (including one everyone raves about in wildwood). There is no comparison- this place has delicious food at very reasonable prices. We ordered the chicken egg foo young, beef lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, fried dumplings, shrimp toast and crab Rangoon's. $63- large portions. Excellent value for the money and very tasty. read more

Cash only business which is fine with me. Received mountains of delicious Chinese food that made our tummies happy! I'm pretty selective with my Chinese restaurants but really liked this one, read more

Been coming here for years. The best Chinese restaurant (takeout) in the area. Never disappointed. Fast service and reasonably priced.

I was staying in Wildwoods but I was skeptical of the food closer to the beach. No 1 chinese kitchen was only a short drive away. Food was great quality and was reasonably priced. My family of 4 spent around $50 and we had enough for leftovers the next day. I especially loved the Singapore noodles read more

This is a standard old style Chinese American joint. Decent food made to order. Big portions!

We were pleasantly surprised to find this local gem. We were craving some good Asian food and this place offered very good food at a decent price. The portions were generous and fresh tasting. It is tucked into the corner of one of our local strip malls and so happy we discovered it! Staff was friendly and efficient. Food was ready for pickup quickly as well ! read more

My place to go when I'm Down Da Shore. Although I had a menu from last year and the prices have gone up considerably, as has EVERYTHING ELSE the past few years. I ordered a variety of items, too many to mention. It is cash ONLY. They have an ATM. There are no longer free items with your order. Latest menu attached. read more

Wasn't the best take out food but again Im spoiled from living in Northern New Jersey where we have the best near us. I called in my order, was 15 minutes late getting there and still waited around 25 minutes for my order. Food was Ok. Gluten free option is steamed chicken, shrimp with mixed veggies no sauce. Plain white rice. read more

This is my family's favorite Chinese food in the area. Their General Tso's is a little different than others I've had because it's smaller pieces and stays crispy so it's much better! Their dumplings are thick and very flavorful. The only thing I don't like is they are pick up and cash only. read more

Based on some suggestions, I gave No 1 a try - I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special along with an egg roll. The KPC was layered over a decent amount of yellow (fried not) rice. Lots of Chinese veggies along with peanuts on top. Had the right amount of spice/heat level for my tastes. Egg Roll was one of the better ones I had in a while as it had nice amount of filling in each bite - Also very reasonable! Will return and try something else next time. read more

Mediocre place. They lost my wife's order and started making it once I came back 20mins to pick it up. No word of explanation, just slid the order across the counter like "F-you very much, come again. read more

Hardly any chicken in the chicken chow mein. The dish consisted of mainly rice. Very disappointing.

My family and I have been ordering Lo Mein here for years and it's always amazing. The food is cooked fast, and the prices are great.

No. 1 Chinese Kitchen is the best Chinese place I have ever went to! They have a variety of the best Chinese food, and the food smells so good, I was practically dying to have some! 10/10, epic! read more

Stop here for first time nothing special like any other Chinese food spots had chicken and broccoli stemmed with black beans sauce

Smells better then it tastes. I ordered chow mein and I did not get chow mein. The wonton soup taste like straight up soy sauce. Very very disappointed. The lady didn't even give me the exact change back. How are these people still in business? Go to Asian palace it's better read more

Greasy Americanized Chinese food! Lunch specials come with a can of soda and run around 5 or 6 bucks. Chicken wings here are fried and addicting....beware of your arteries! If you get it w/ veggie fried rice on the side, it's under $5.00 Hot & sour soup here is good too....quick for to go orders! Very consistent cooking...run by real Chinese folks. Limited seating, this place caters to take out mostly. read more

This is my favorite Chinese takeout in this area. The pork fried rice is something we order every time as well as the dumplings and the egg rolls. The house lo mein is very good too. Definitely try the garlic chicken wings the flavor is amazing. The staff is always friendly and the price is affordable. They also give you free food if you spend a certain amount. read more

We go to cape May every summer and are always on the lookout for good takeout. No 1 did not disappoint. First of all we got enough food to feed 9 people and is was just under $100 which I thought was very reasonable. The hot and sour soup was one of the best we ever had. They also had crab Rangoon which is not always available in other restaurants. I had the sesame chicken and it was excellent. Please note it's cash only but there is an atm in the nail salon right next door. We will go back. read more

This is one of my favorite places to grab Chinese food in town! The food is consistently good!

Take-out only, but it's worth it to go pick it up yourself. I've never been disappointed with the food here. The two women who I usually see working there are very nice. I love the chicken mai fun and hot and sour soup. read more

The 3 stars are earned because of food otherwise, there is nothing more to this place....it has a few tables in a very small very brightly lit flourescent room where you can either call in to the abrupt person answering the phone or go in & feel the unfriendly nature at the counter. Once you get passed this, the place looks sloppy as you can see right into the kitchen which is right there at the counter. The food all arrives in nice & tight to go containers whether eating in or taking out...very helpful, can't leak & won't spill. Then you see & taste the food....the portions are HUGE, the value is pretty good & THE TASTE is very darn good for the most part. I do think that it could use a little more flavor in most dishes but the dishes taste individually well done & presented well. I LOVE that the food FILLS the container & is still visually nice to look at when you are ready to eat. The cooks get the entrees & apps well executed to their customers, US ....in that the individual pieces of ingredients in each dish are never overcooked or overdone like most places. I am not sure i would ever sit in there & eat, actually pretty sure I would not. It feels generally unsafe to even be in there. But if you are just popping in to pick up, easy & fast. I also do not think i would bring any kids in there, even to just pick up the food with you. Their menu is normal Chinese but with a few other items as well like wings, etc. It is worth going into for food but it would be nice if they could act a little friendlier like they are happy for the business, clean up their look ALOT so it is welcoming & presentable, and just be attentive to the whole package. read more

No 1 Chinese Kitchen - A bit on the side of scary but the food is good. - Chinese Near Me - Rio Grande, New Jersey

Well, It is not the worst place or the best place. For starters the fried chicken, pork fried rice, are very greasy (taste is good but heart attack is likely). Next, the Curry chicken or Curry Shrimp. (LOTS of vegetables and no poultry?) The Lo Mein is average. Sweet and Sour chicken and the Beef n broccoli is good. Overall it is very American Chinese food. read more

I got a call from this number while at work this morning. I answered and the man said he has my order ready (chicken & broccoli, ribs, etc). When I told him he must have the wrong number, he started screaming and cursing at me saying "THIS IS THE NUMBER YOU GAVE ME! LIAR!" and using profanity. So unprofessional, rude, and disgusting. Therefor, they will NOT be getting my business, ever. read more

What the heck happened!?!? This was our go to place for Chinese for about 15 years and tonight our dinner was so bad that it wound up uneaten in the trash. The last few times We ate here our food was nowhere as good as it used to be. One of the two woman who ran the place is still there so I assume it is still run by the same family. There was also no crowd waiting in line like there used to always be. read more
