Everyone REALLY raved about this place but truthfully I felt it wasn't that much different of a Neapolitan pizza experience than Punch (iykyk). Honestly I might like punch more... The pizza was definitely good but it didn't wow me the way I thought it would given this restaurant's prestige. The service was great and the inside is very nice but yeah. Truthfully I didn't think this was a super standout. Maybe I've had too much Neapolitan pizza... Worth eating at for sure especially if you haven't had Neapolitan before but yeah. Their cacio e pepe bucatini ball was my favorite part of the meal. Sooooooo yummy!!!! We managed to snag this reservation, no clue how. But 100% you need one so be sure to get one! Supposedly one of the best pizzas in Amsterdam and all of Netherlands, nNea is impossibly hard to get a reservation. Reservations are often booked up for a year so our best bet was either take-out or walk-in. I don't think take-out is available every day of the week so be sure to check before heading out! When we visited, the wait for walk-in was over an hour and there was no way we were going to do that. Take-out is actually its own building and entrance right next to the restaurant. They don't have the full menu as the sit-down side but you can get your pizzas so much faster. They even acknowledge the fact that people will eat in front of the store so they'll provide plates instead of the pizza boxes to save on waste. They'll also have scissors to help cut your pizzas into shareable portions. Each pizza is large enough for a single person but it's better to do family-style and order a bunch of different types to try more. Their style of pizza has a bit of a larger crust and I ended up not finishing those. I tried the Oyster Mushroom, which was my favorite with the mushroom and garlic flavors. The second one was the Salsiccia and Patate (I think?) and was our meat pizza. I couldn't really understand the cashier but they were out of something so the pizza I got wouldn't have been the complete thing. I'm not sure what was missing but overall, a tasty pizza too. If you can get a reservation, I highly recommend dining in to try more things. But if your wait is over 30-45 minutes, just do take-out because I don't think it's worth the wait. read more

Ok so a lot of my friends told me to come to nNea. Now I know I was trying to find new places to eat in Amsterdam, but for a guy who loves New York-style pizza, going for Neopolitan-style pizza isn't quite my thing. And I know it was recently ranked #48 on the Top 50 Pizza World ranking list and the best pizza in Amsterdam. But since my friends wanted to try it, sure, why not. If you came here, you probably didn't have a reservation. Well, I talked to them and they said their reservations are open a year in advance. Like...who even knows what they are doing a year in advance? They do keep 25% of their tables open for walk-ins, so thankfully we were able to secure a seat that way. Ordered the Partenope, which is dominated by octopus, and the Roasted Amatriciana, which was topped by guanciale. I suppose for Neopolitan-style pizza, this is pretty damn good. Really tasty ingredients and good crust that is light and airy that held the ingredients up well. They even give you scissors to cut the pizza since it comes out unsliced. Service was good. Even though we were walk ins, they didn't rush us out the door and made sure we had time to eat. I guess the line out the door is proof that nNea Pizza is doing something right. I wouldn't wait that long for it because I know what great pizza is. But in a city starved of elite pizza, I guess I can understand why it is so popular. read more

Walk, no RUN here! THIS WAS SO GOOD! A short walk from CityHub hostel, we put our name down for 2 people around 7PM and there was about a 30 minute wait. When I was researching places to eat in Amsterdam, this restaurant came up on several lists for some of the "best pizza in the world". - seriously, on its website it states "nNea has been awarded with 3 spicchi Gambero Rosso and named one of the top italian restaurants in the world. 50 Top Pizza, the guide to the best pizzerias in the world, has voted nNea no.1 in The Netherlands, no.9 in Europe and no.48 in the world." We got two pizzas - a classic margarita and another called Capefierr (Squeezed plum tomatoes, salsiccia a punta di coltello (made by us with local meat), fried padron peppers, mozzarella di bufala, parmigiano reggiano, basil). The ingredients were fresh and delicious (I'm Italian I know good mozzarella and sauce), only critique is the dough could've been cooked a bit longer. We ended up eating both pizzas! read more

Did not know until looking this place up just now that nNea ranks amongst the best pizzas in the world! We first tried our luck with walk-in, but after seeing how long the wait was, we decided to grab take out next door instead. They quoted us about 25 minutes for takeout but it ended up coming out much sooner. Overall, the pizzas were good but I can't imagine waiting more than 30 minutes to eat here. I think takeout is definitely the move if you can't get in on a reservation or with a short wait. They do have other menu items though that are only orderable in the sit-down restaurant, so maybe we missed out on some other delicious dishes! read more

The woodfired light airy thin crust is perfectly topped with the most outrageously tasty fresh sauce. The pies come with scissors so be prepared to cut those slices. Highly rated, supposed best pizza in Amsterdam, and 48th out of 50 of the world's best pizzas, nNea was a no brainer on our itinerary! One of our friends had gone before on a previous trip, and mentioned that reservations are extremely hard and to just hope to get on the waitlist early enough. Unfortunately it would have been over 1hr 30 minutes to sit down, but luckily for us, their next door take-out option was open! That took only 25 minutes in comparison, which is a steal considering the hype around the restaurant! There's a few bar stools inside the takeout shop, and 2-3 chairs outside. You can choose to 'dine-in' and they'll give you your pizza on a plate, but if you're actually taking to-go, they'll give you a box. We got the Provola & Pepe and it was AMAZING!!! Perfect amount of cheese/sauce, chewy but still crisp crust, and all together a solid pizza. We also shared a few slices amongst our friends that got other pizzas, and although I did like the Oyster Mushroom and Salsiccia, I still enjoyed our Provola the most! 1000% worth the stop, just be prepared and come early to avoid the long wait times! read more

I was a bit hesitant to go the full 5-stars due to the length of time to get a reservation at a decent hour (one month), but with the pizza being excellent and the vibe & service very friendly, I went ahead with that rating. I've lived nearby for over 3 years and never have eaten here due to covid restrictions and the difficulty getting a table. A couple of negatives are they told us we have until 9:30 pm but at 8:55 pm were telling us they needed the table at 9 (we were finished eating and drinking though). It's super busy in there, my friend was feeling a bit tired from the lack of fresh air indoors. The pizza was delicious. I am not the best pizza expert, but the starter was delicious too. I think it was slightly better than a competing Napolean style pizza place not too far away, mainly the crust was crispier and warmer. The prices are reasonable as well. Ranked #48 in the world's best 50 pizzas. I heard it's very difficult to get a reservation here so we walked in on Saturday at around 8pm. We had to wait an hour to get seated, so we went next door to chill and grab beers. We ordered the partenope and margherita pizzas and they were AMAZING. Definitely worth the hype and waiting in line for if you can't get reservations. The only downside is that their wine isn't the best and it took awhile for the pizzas to be ready. Recommend enjoying your pizza with a glass of refreshing beer! I'm definitely coming here again the next time we're back in Amsterdam!! read more

Food was great but we had waited so long just to be seated on a weeknight. Ended up ordering to go because we were tired of waiting.

We walked in when they opened since we were unable to secure a reservation in advance. They were able to accommodate us for 1.5 hours which was the perfect amount of time for our dinner. The staff was nice and very knowledgeable in terms of helping us with the wine selection. We found the restaurant to be very very hot and we sat in the back by an open door. We started with the Frittatina di pasta which the staff highly recommended. I really enjoyed the crispy outer texture meshing with the cheesy pasta insides, but I did feel that it was a dressed up version of fried mac and cheese bites. Not that it was bad but in my opinion I would skip it if you've had something similar. 6.75/10 The fun part were all the pizza options. Really creative pies are being offered, unfortunately we were only able to eat two of them. We ordered the 'nduja Tonnata with a yellow sauce, mozzarella di bufala, onions, 'nduja and tuna (!!!) finished with oregano, paprika and lemon. This was a super interesting pie as I had never had both 'nduja and tuna on the same pie before. I did feel the 'nduja over powered the fish, but in a good way. Out of the very interesting/non traditional pies they had I would say this would be the one to order. 8.5/10 Of he second pie we ordered was the Partenope, which is the octopus and stracciatella pie. I love both of these things separately and it photographs well together, but I don't think they mesh as well as I hoped. The crust/dough they're using is excellent, but I would probably order a traditional pie instead just to see how to matches up to more familiar tastes. If this was my local pizza place I would order it again, but if you're traveling and if this is your only opportunity to eat here I would skip. 6.5/10 Overall I think with better ordering this would have received 5 stars (our fault not theirs for what we like to eat) from my experience I would rate this 3.75/5 stars. read more

Simply remarkable, the pizza that ruins all other pizza. Get the oro di bufala and just enjoy. Remarkably fluffy crust dusted with cheese, a bright orange tomato sauce, a perfect balance of toppings, cutting each slice yourself just adds to the experience. Even the margherita pie was lovely, a more burnt crust, again bright colors, with a beautiful balance. Basically order everything and share, and you can't go wrong. read more

My mother was in town visiting me, and I was showing her around my neighborhood, when this large sign with the words in English about "Warming up for an Opening" in the shopfront window caught my eye. There was an email address, and I'm always up for foodie adventures, and this place being local to me, I decided to check it out. We made a reservation for 6-8pm on a Sunday, and on the appointed hour, presented ourselves to our lovely and bubbly server. After hanging our coats, we were seated behind the bar-stools, which looked out into the open kitchen. There was a lovely, big round pizza- oven and 2 chefs, one of whom was freshly making the pizza bases, while another handled the oven. The server explained how it was a limited menu, with the chefs trailing a limited selection of only 4 menu items, and it might be that what we ate, wouldn't end up on the final menu. We were also offered a complimentary selection of drink, and decided to go with a non-alcoholic elder-flower concoction. With this drink, it wasn't mixed very well, because I didn't really taste anything at all till I was half-way done with my drink. Foodwise, we ordered the following items: 1) Water (large) €3.50 - the water is co-branded with a charity, so loved that aspect of ordering the bottle 2) Burrata starter (€6.50) - HOLY DELICIOUSNESS! Absolutely recommend getting this as the Burrata cheese was AMAZING. Blistered cherry tomatoes and a beautiful basil oil as well as crisp toast was the perfect accompaniment to the cheese. 3) Nonno Vincenzo pizza (€12) - The server mentioned that this pizza was in honour of the chef's grandfather, and I loved the spicy salami! I hope they will have a Charcuterie Plate, cause when I came back next time, I'm for sure getting it! That SALAMI WAS SO GOOD! 4) Mortazza pizza (€14) - we were intrigued by the mention of the pistachio in this pizza and when it came, it was a white sauce base, so made a good contrast to the Nonno Vincenzo pizza which had a tomato base. This pizza was also milder in flavor, compared to the taste overload from Nonno Vincenzo, however I liked the contrast. Our total bill was €36 for two people, which I thought was pretty good price per person for Amsterdam. One thing about the table we sat at, was this it was also behind the bar stools which was a bit of an issue, in that it was a very narrow passageway and so folks as well as the server kept bumping into the back of my chair. Wow. Sooooo good. We sat at the bar and got to see the pizza being made. The only downside is so many looked delicious and we have to come back. There are a few starters that looked good. Nice wine list (the rose was good with the pizza and quite summery) by the glass and bottle. The pizza all have high quality ingredients and all look amazing. The crust has a perfect amount of char and chewiness. The toppings all worked together perfectly. We had the fried dough with ricotta for dessert. Also so good. The service was great. I moved to the Netherlands in early September and visited nNea today at the recommendation of a friend who said their frozen pizzas are amazing- and they are! I am really impressed. I got a margherita pizza. Chewy crust, delicious sauce and cheese, and they somehow managed to get basil to freeze nicely. I can't wait to return after this partial lockdown ends so I can try the rest of the menu. read more
