Terrible! Asked just for clean up cuticles and shape my natural nails. I explained I have cancer and they are brittle and very slow to grow. I had grown them out for over a year to a lovely length and wanted to keep length. She picked up clippers and chopped off my whole little nail. What could I do now my nail is a nub.... no gradual cut back which I had not asked for... she proceeded to clip all my nails to stubs ... then left them with sharp edges plus used a extremely rough energy board all over my nails. They are totally destroyed and I'm shaking and crying as it took me so long to grow them out to a beautiful length. Now they are destroyed... I have stubs with sharp edges. read more

Just got these done yesterday and very annoyed about the gap between my nails and my cuticles. I spoke up and asked for the paint to be done closer (which I know is possible), and I was assured they would but this was final result. Overall fairly neat which is why I am giving three stars, but I'm still disappointed to have spent almost $100 for this kind of work. Also as you can see no care was given to at least trying to file my nails evenly. They were short when I arrived which is why I say "try". Used to like it here much better under old management when I used to get painted by the owner who did a very good job every time. Now that she's gone I've tried it twice but will likely not be returning. Place looks cleaner and more organized/better decorated now but that's it. read more

Wow!! SUPER EXPENSIVE! I knew North County was relatively expensive but this was crazy. For a basic short of acrylic nails was almost $50... I believe the total was $46 or $47! No designs, nothing. Just glue on acrylic tips. Cut extra short. I could've got these same nails for less than $25 in Lemon Grove or City Heights. The language barrier was difficult and it took multiple employees to get what kind of nails I wanted even though it was nothing fancy or really unique. I was an evening walk-in and feel they stuck me with the trainee. She was leaving way too much space between the cuticle and acrylic powder. It looked like I needed a fill already! I spoke up and she fixed it. Friendly staff but I was taken aback by the price. I still left a tip but doubt I will return. I can't justify paying that much for basic nails when I could drive an extra 15-20 minutes and save money. The quality of work doesn't justify this price. Now that I'm home and able to get a really good look, the quality is seriously lacking. The nails are filed crooked/on the diagonal direction and there's all kinds of white dried up powder still stuck under and on the sides of my nails. Never again! Crazy gaps between my real nails and acrylic tips. Something with the way she glued them on ... they're like going up at an angle and not making full contact my nail bed. Gotta be careful of fungus now. read more

Came early to see if they could get me in. Ivy did a great job in my manicure and made my nails look excellent. Her hand massage was fantastic. Did the deluxe spa pedicure and had such a relaxing massage. Cu did my toes and got them looking incredible. Such a nice job. Really pleased quart such a quiet environment, calm music and overall relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend. I am a regular customer at the formerly PQNails. I was there only 2.5 weeks ago and decided to drop-in for brow chin lip waxing which is on my six week routine. So this was just a touch up before travelling with very hair removal. Normal cost is $32. But they wanted to up-charge me to $42 for the same service. WTHeck!!! That's a 23% increase!!! I've come here 3-4 times for gel manis and pedis. I really liked it here because they slightly do a better job than salons nearby. Today, I went to get my gel removed and they asked me 3 times if I wanted a pedicure. I said no, just remove the gel. I've gotten my gel removed here before. One visit they charged me $7, the next visit was $10 and today they charged me $12! This is all within 3-4 months of each other. I questioned why it was $12 and the woman was trying to explain that if I had gotten a pedicure, then the removal fee would be cheaper. This is such BS. I felt like because I didn't get a pedicure like they wanted me to, it would've been cheaper. When I got in my car, I called all the other salons nearby just because I was curious how much they charged. They all confirmed their gel removals are only $10. I feel like Q Nails did me dirty and charged me $2 extra dollars just because I didn't get a pedicure. Word of advice, don't let them hustle you and throw a random price at you. I appreciate how they take their time and my pedicures/manicures always last. It's a calm environment, the feet and hand massages are great, and their prices are fair. I typically get dip or gel and anytime I show them a desired nail design, they make it happen. I've been going to this nail shop for a year now and every time I go they do an amazing job and they never disappoint. Kim does my nails and she's great at it. From time to time someone else will do my nails, but they still do a pretty good job. Pricing is not bad. Especially for the service that they provide. The shop and ambiance is good, the room temp. Is never uncomfortable always good. The AC is on on hot days and not too hot during cold weather. They always ask or give you a bottle of water, which comes in handy from time to time. I ended up getting the SNS powder dip service and my nails look incredible! Shoutout to Maya who took so much time and care into ensuring my nails looked perfect. She ultimately topped the SNS dip with a gel top coat. I can't decide I'm going to like it though because gel tends to peel off my nails relatively quickly but hopefully since this wasn't on my direct nail but rather over the powder, it'll help last longer! I diligently searched yelp for the best nail salon for dip/SNS/powder nails and decided on Q nails based on their reviews saying they have a great color selection. Boy were the reviews right! Such a great color selection for dip! I got my nails done by Ivy and she was amazing. I have never felt more cared for. She actually cares about how your nails turn out and doesn't just rush through her work. This was my first time getting dip nails and also my first time getting my nails shaped anything other than the usual square. I am blown away with how great they turned out and catch myself just starring at my nails! Ivy pays close attention to detail! Great experience! I was visiting my family in San Diego (I moved to OC). I decided to treat myself, so I headed over here since it was close by. The lady who did my nails was very sweet. She cut my cuticle a little too close and started bleeding ever so slightly. She IMMEDIATELY sprayed disinfected it and applied an ointment on time. It stopped bleeding, but she felt so bad that she gave me a complimentary nail art on each ring finger. I thought it was sweet of her, plus she was very remorseful. She took ownership of her mistake and wanted to make up for it. I've been cut several times before (and way worse) at other nail salons and those nail technicians just pretended it didn't happen, or they would say "sorry" and just paint over the bleeding. *ALWAYS schedule an appointment* cause you'll get priority! I had an appointment at 5:30 for a mani/pedi, came a little early and got seated right away. Natalie did my pedi and she is the sweetest gal ever! Her and I had a good conversation and she was very gentle and thorough in her work. I wish I got the name for the girl who did my nails cause she did an AMAZING job! I'm coming here again for sure! A really big plus for me was that all the tools and nail files were sterilized or new. I noticed that with every client that came in a new sterilized pack of tools were opened. I also noticed the tools go into a sterilization box. This location provides mini Kirkland water bottles, such a nice thing to do! The owner here is constantly cleaning and near closing time he takes Clorox or Lysol wipes to clean all the seats, handles, basically anything that's commonly touched!
