Maybe if they lease out a few of the offices to help defray the ever rising tariffs, but I kid of course. I remember when the township library was housed here, but as the collection of books expanded, a larger building was needed. A cynical person might say that this was also another ploy to increase taxes. You can also come here to get a passport or visa, pay your sewer bill( that somehow is not part of that already too high property tax bill) get building permits, and find out why your dbag neighbors are complaining about the length of your lawn. I imagine the mayor has a sweet office here as well, where she can come to get away from the stress of all those ribbon cuttings and photo ops. Now that I'm reflecting on all of this, I'm probably being generous with the third star.

I had to obtain the paperwork to renew my passport while on business in Hamilton Square, and found…read morethe Mercer County Connection to be exceptionally organized. The employee that I worked with (Caucasian female, brunette, late 40s, attractive) was incredibly thorough in going over the renewal process to the point of it being slightly overwhelming. Nonetheless, I was able to complete the application renewal process in a matter of minutes, as well as obtain my passport photo at a cost of $15. I'm not sure if the cost of the two pictures (one was an extra) is on the high end of things when it comes to passport pictures, but I wanted to get everything done quickly so that I could send my passport + renewal application directly to Philadelphia for processing. What's convenient about the the Mercer County Connection is that they'll provide you with a USPS envelope + labeling (especially to expedite shipping), as well as the location itself being adjacent to the Acme Save-On grocery store where you can purchase the $170.00 money order for $0.99. I didn't have a checkbook handy at the time, so this location came in handy at the absolute right time. For those that didn't want to pay the $15 for the passport photo, you can go across the street to the CVS Pharmacy or WalGreen's (I forget which one) to see if its cheaper. And of course, the post office is about 1.5 miles down the road in a small strip mall adjacent to Applebee's on Rte. 33. Altogether, I have much to thank the Mercer County Connection for. I greatly appreciate their organization in helping me mail out an expedited passport package to the US State department.

I have never needed the physical card and of course could not find it. You cannot do this on line. Therefore you need to go to the office. (Darn). We were warmly greeted by a very sweet security guard lady. She directed us to a computer to sign in so we could get a number to be called when it is our turn. We were given a clip board with form to fill out. There were approximately 30 seats in the waiting room. All but 4 were taken. We wormed our way to two empty seats...it was a tight squeeze getting past a few people...they had to get up to let us get to the seat. First impression we were thinking we would be there about 5 hours...but surprisingly from start to finish....maybe 30 minutes total...Amazing! Your number is called over a speaker and also a large screen displays it as well. The place is very clean, comfortable and even bathrooms were spotless. The people were professional and friendly. We could not believe just how easy this all was. Now we wait less than 2 weeks for our SS cards to arrive in the mail. Once our social security cards arrive our next step for real ID is we take it to DMV for more Government fun. Such an ordeal.

In a state like NJ more and more strip malls and larger malls seem to be gobbling up all available real estate. And then installing every conceivable chain store that can pay the rent. In this town I can thankfully state that there are NO chains that I can see. Even the drugstore is an independent, that strangely even serves as a liquor store. There are about 10 diverse restaurants, several of which are 4 star or better spots. There is also a quality cupcake bakery and a seasonal ice cream shop. A few artsy stores and a few unique clothing shops round out the retail offerings. I urge passing by commuters to exit 295 or 206 and head into town while these businesses are still here. Or if you prefer to support big corporations, continue on your way. You will eventually be inundated with them. 4.25 enjoy it while you got it Yelps
How the Mercer County Courthouse (civil) is rated depends on what side of the bar you find…read moreyourself. If you are a plaintiff seeking justice for a wrong done to you, you will likely find a fair level of compensation for pain and suffering or breach of contract, and feel some satisfaction with your experience in the building. However, as a defendant it is more likely you will dread what this institution has done to you. All matters of social interactions that go sideways can find themselves being evaluated and judged here, although those that cross the criminal line will be heard and disposed of at the criminal courthouse a few blocks away. The four story hall of justice was originally designed for both civil and criminal cases and although less than 20 years old, legal conflicts have risen so fast that not only a second new building was needed just for the bad boys, and a third (the currently being renovated old courthouse annex) for the county prosecutor staff. The taxpayers can't be happy about that. There aren't enough judges to hear the cases that don't settle, so the wait for your day in court is often years after the events that began the long course to an uncertain outcome. It is frustrating and unpleasant, yet it is the system chosen to resolve conflicts with confrontations minimized. Oh, and the elevators are as slow as the slog to justice.

I have been going here since , the ,original Cherry Hill library , the town I live in.was torn down to build this huge multi million monstrosity! Fyi. If u live in my town in Camden county, it wasn't needed. My town was given millions from the state and this money should of been shared by Cherry Hill to the other county libraries but they did not. Imho, seems very selfish . This is a fact . So my hometown is no longer a part of the county library system. Which is pretty sad , I have never set foot in this building. And its like minutes from my home but i dont like greed and the fact that the original library was great. It was not needed. I am afraid that if I say too much my review will be pulled but everything I am saying is truthful and confirmed by other library staff and mgt. So if u live in my town it costs to use any library in Camden County . But I luv the way I am treated , it's cozy, friendly and a warm environment. I don't like that monstrosity in Cherry Hill. Having lived in half a dozen other states let me tell ya: NJ has some great libraries. We all bitch and moan about taxes, isn't it great to know there's a tangible community asset provided in return for said monies? We're in some dystopian times, so it's refreshing (even comforting) to be reminded that one of society's great equalizers remains available for all to access. As far as COVID logistics: books can be reserved online and "contactless" pickup can also be scheduled there. As an older millennial, I went hybrid by reserving my book online and once an email informed me it was available, I called and spoke to an actual living, friendly human who proceeded to reserve a 15 minute time slot for my pick up. The librarian assigned me the number "2." To pick up, simply head to the rear of the building where you'll encounter a table under the portico. Here, you'll find your requested book (with your name affixed) next to the number 1, 2, or 3. Its location will correspond with the number provided by either the website or the friendly librarian via telephone during the final step of the reservation process. Upon leaving, a librarian came out and actually thanked ME. This felt a bit strange for a multitude of reasons. Rather than an entitled "hey, I'm a taxpayer," I thanked her in return. After all without free and fair dissemination of knowledge and truth, where would we be? That is something I hope to never find out.
