I saw Dr. Chand in their Morristown, NJ location on 8/26/24 which included annual blood work. They…read moresuggested I used their blood lab across the hall. SH asked me to sign a Waiver for certain blood tests that may not be covered. I asked before signing if there was a problem w/payment from Medicare would the doctor do what was necessary to collect this $ on my behalf and I was assured by the office staff they would. I received an EOB from Medicare stating I was responsible for 6 blood test. A Lipid panel, Vitamin D, and 4 tests to check Iron and B-12. These blood tests were medically necessary as I have been suffering from Vertigo and it was suggest by a Neurologist to check my B12 and iron levels. I called Medicare and was told SH sent the bill in wrong. I called SH and asked for a letter of medical necessity be sent to Medicare as I have never seen a bill for Lipid (Cholesterol) testing. They agreed the claim was incorrectly filed and they resent claim. I received an invoice from SH in the meantime. I have had these tests done at Quest in the past and never saw a bill, even when I signed a Waiver. I called Medicare again and they said they can't just send claim in again I would have to file an appeal, so I did. SH sent in a the first letter of medical necessity which only covered the Vitamin D and B12. Medicare did pay the Vitamin D test but not the others. I received another invoice from SH and called again, spoke with Megan in the Morristown office. She said she would help get this straighten out. I explained that Medicare said to have the doctor call Medicare Plan "B" to find out how to resolve this. She asked me for the phone number and I told her Medicare wouldn't give it to me. They sent in a second letter of Medical necessity addressing the Lipid panel and the 3 iron tests, Medicare only paid the Lipid tests. I am still responsible for $181 for the other 4 tests. Their billing dept has no clue on how to bill these tests and because I signed a Waiver, which they shared with Medicare, neither one feels the need to get these bills paid because SH knows they will get paid by me and Medicare knows I signed a Waiver. On 1/15/25 I called both Medicare and SH, I waited on hold for over 20 minutes for Megan and then someone picked up the phone, put me back on hold and the next thing I hear is a survey and I hung up. Medicare referred to the Waiver I signed. I then called SH billing dept. and was on hold for another 30 minutes only to be told they can't do anything since I signed the Waiver. I asked for a supervisor at SH told me there is nothing I can do. Medicare said I can file another appeal but SH won't do it. I pay over $650 a month for health insurance with Medicare and am 70 years old. I don't think this is fair. I will never use SH blood lab again and will never sign another Waiver. I and going to an attorney and have already filed a complaint with the BBB. I think it's disgraceful. Don't ever sign those Waivers because that gives Medicare and SH a way out. Better yet, don't use Summit Health blood labs!!!

It used to exist on the landing page for the business. It has disappeared making it almost impossible to reach anyone who can assist and forward you to the necessary people. Second, two departments, including patient relations, could not assist me with information that was missing on my patient portal. They kept on suggesting that my history was present, but they failed to understand, including speaking to a supervisor, that I was seeking information about family history such as family member and condition not my own history. I was told to email tech support because they could not be reached by phone. Email, when the information was needed immediately? Summit appears to be no longer be focused on health care.

I know i've offered reviews before here about Dr. Paul Zukoff as a model of what a general…read morepractitioner should be. Brilliant, easy self confidence, keeps focused at the task at hand, gets 99% right, departs every consult with a warm smile and handshake, leaving you both to think "we've got this!" He's also ferried me through some of the hardest parts of my life and as I age, it's deeply comforting to know he's there. I'm largely alone in terms of folks that care about my health and well being. Mortal lottery. When i first started seeing him twenty years ago I believe, he had a marketing video on his office site. It said "if I do my job right, we'll grow old well together." It's working. And I also want to add a brief deeply negative comment. Not about him and his staff, who I dearly love as a patient but about this Amber Kahn so called doctor. I just read a scathing review here on the New Providence Internal Medicine Yelp site and i could tell you several stories of my own from a few entirely shockingly bad interactions with this - person with issues. I won't out of respect for Dr. Zukoff. But I will say this: recently I noticed there were less staff at Dr. Z's office and asked why. This was a staff I had once ordered pizza for because they made me so happy and i was worried there had been layoffs. Turns out Kahn hit the road. What a blessing. So from now on - don't associate her with this practice and frankly? I never did. Night and day it was -in one medical office, one of the finest doctors in New Jersey and one of the very worst - separated by a few walls and an oceaniac chasm of skill, competence, empathy, integrity and gifted talent. They shared space but not a true practice link. Dr. Paul Zukoff: so great I'm buying my "without insurance" superintendent from my nearby apartment complex from Albania a consult visit to check his insulin levels and advise him because i know Dr. Zukoff will nail the diagnosis and get it right - and put him at ease. Update. 5/20/26. Likely dismissed all Second May day where all staff and hasn't announced - all mysteriously gone. May 8 no doctor or nurses or staff and what appeared to be a temp just told me to go to Urgent Care.Today after 20 years, he tells me causally he's retiring by year's end and some other "female" doctor will take over - then walks out. What a cold slap in the face. Oh well, I'm alive and I'll move on. Wonder how much I projected in my accolades. Felt like meat.

This post is for notification purposes and not intended to convince anyone not to patronize her establishment. However, I will not be returning. I scheduled and confirmed my annual appointment around my busy work schedule, without an issue. The day of my appointment, a work meeting ran later than planned and I ended up running late for my appointment. Respectful of Dr.'s time, I called into to let them know I was running late and to make sure it was still fine for me to come to the office. I let the receptionist LISA know I had a 12:30 PM l, was running 15-20 mins late and called to let the office know. Lisa, got rude over the phone and said that I needed to provide 24H notice of rescheduling/cancellation or I must pay a fee. I said the fee is no problem. I told LISA i had no intention on canceling and asked how would I have known I'd be 15-20 min late, 24H ago when I'm calling her TODAY? Lisa continued to be rude, stated I couldn't see the doctor because it was past the 15 min Grace Period. I asked if the Dr. had any open appointment slots later that day, to reschedule. LISA replied that the Dr. was booked for the remainder of the day. I said well let's reschedule for sometime next week, is the Dr available Monday by any chance? Lisa nastily said No and refused to reschedule my appointment over the phone. I'm not going to lie, Lisa hit a nerve and hung up on her, expeditiously. Then I decided to go to the Dr's office anyway, to reschedule and to pay the missed visit cancellation fee. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Lisa and she informed the Dr I arrived. The doctor said she was about to see a patient and asked that I return in 30 minutes. I said ok, and waited in my care for the duration of the 30 minutes. When I returned to the office I was asked to sit in the waiting area. The doctor came out and told me she couldn't see me that day. I said no problem, I don't mind rescheduling. She said no, you may not reschedule. I then asked, if she was implying that she would no longer treat me as my PCP, she said YES. She said that I treated her receptionist badly, based on her receptionist speaking to the doctor during the 30 minute wait. When LISA told me not to come to the office due to my lateness and refused to reschedule, I came in person anyway to find out why. Fearing disciplinary action, she LIED and told the doctor I was rude over the phone, which was untrue, LISA was the one who was rude, and unprofessional. As a patient, I felt the Dr. Kewalramani should have asked my side of the story. I found her taking the receptionists version of the narrative disappointing, appalling, and cold, considering that I am the patient seeking services from her medical office. Please be aware of the receptionist LISA and let the Dr. know if she treats you unfairly.
