I had one of the worst medical experiences I have ever had at AZ Oral Facial and Implant Surgery…read more Upon arrival to the office, the staff directed me to a room to have a CBCT scan which I was not informed of previously or consulted with for consent. After the appointment was done, the staff directed me to an office where they demanded I pay $300 for the scan because they had determined after the fact that neither my medical insurance nor dental insurance would cover it. At no point before the scan was I told that a prior authorization for the scan had failed or that this was the amount out of pocket that I would pay. Upon complaint, I found the staff extremely hard to work with and disrespectful. Be extremely careful of this office as they are essentially scamming patients out of money by not disclosing any costs or insurance limitations beforehand.

Staff seemed friendly I mean I don't think they were rude about it, it's just it is what it is and I get that. They also seem like they enjoy each others company as I sat I could hear their voices and friendly chatter so to like where you are on a regular basis is good for cheerful patient approaches. Why does Yelp only give you the option of 5 stars? This practice deserves so many more! Starting with walking in the door, the waiting room is decorated so tastefully, it's very clean, and everyone in the front office is REALLY nice. The exam and procedure rooms are actually serene, with beautiful decor and windows to look out. And then the surgery team--I don't even know where to start. I am the most anxious (adult :-) patient they have probably ever encountered, but they were so kind and considerate it's INCREDIBLE! Dental implants require 2 procedures, and they were equally thoughtful and patient both times. I have to give a special shoutout to Sam and Dr. Ray. It was your medical expertise and the confidence it gave me, plus the above-and-beyond support you provided from start to finish, that helped me through everything that was difficult for me. I am so happy that Canyon State was recommended to me!

I tried to get an estimate for an implant crown, where the implant was done by the Periodontist who…read morereferred me to this office among 3 others, because East Valley Periodontist does not do the crowns, only the implants. When I first called this office, they refused to give me a quote or estimate for the specific billing codes because they said that I had to make an appoint with the dentist to see my situation. They would not even tell me if the cost would be above $1500 which was the price for crown and abutment that I was trying to match, by an oral surgeon who refuses to do the crown because I got the implant done by someone other than himself. So when I arrived for the appointment, it turns out that the Endodontist office did not send the X-rays because it was not time yet for my followup appointment, but Every Smile dental office gave me print out of the "treatment plan" and cost anyhow, when before they said they couldn't. And this is without their dentist examining my mouth. Why could they do this, when before they told me they would not give me an estimate unless I came into the office to see the dentist. Now I told them I wasted my time going there, when they gave me their answer anyhow when I didn't have to SHOW UP IN THEIR OFFICE. Cost is 2 x the oral surgeon's price of $1500, plus a discount cos I am a senior, I get their plan discount free, cost is $2300. Boy, I was NOT SMILING when I walked out their door! The reception was nice, though, so 2 stars instead of 1.
