I picked through and tossed a bunch out this morning but still have a nice bouquet left for a smaller vase. Very disappointed. I needed to get a corsage same day. I was aware that it was last minute but they did not mind telling me how last-minute it was. I had just been to Whole Foods and they said it would only take 30 minutes, but their person was not in until the next day. It is an unusual circumstance, and I was going to be out of town the following day, so I was trying to prepare everything before I left. As not to stress our mother-n-law. Just like every other working human, this item just got prioritized lower than others. regardless the guy seemed very annoyed. Not very accommodating and said to me, it's probably a better idea that I go to Whole Foods. I've been in there once before and I thought the woman was a little off and rude but I just figured everybody can have a bad day. Apparently they have bad days every day. I normally don't write reviews but I was absolutely appalled by the service I received that I had to share my experience. Though the arrangement I had ordered was beautifully made and a testament to their expertise in this craft, I was extremely disappointed by my experience with this florist. I ordered an arrangement for my grandmother's funeral and decided to pick it up rather than having it delivered because the funeral home was only several minutes away from their store location. When I arrived I was greeted by a woman who I notified that I had come to pick up a funeral standing spray (an arrangement that costs nearly $200). She immediately asked what car I drove and once I pointed it out through the window and she proceeded to scoff, shake her head, and tell me that I would have difficulty fitting it in. It is to note that I drive a decent sized sedan that when you fold down the back seats would have easily been able to fit this arrangement. I have been able to fit objects nearly 6ft long in my car with no issues. As she went to bring the arrangement from the back, she continued to shake her head and have an attitude. Once she brought the arrangement to me I was about to take it but she moved it away from me and said for me not to touch it and that an employee with "experience" would help me instead. Once we reached my car, the "experienced" employee shoved it inside my car with absolutely no care resulting in damages to the arrangement and immediately left with an attitude. Had I known that he would do this, I would have insisted to put it in my car on my own. An experienced employee???? He absolutely did not care about the arrangement nor placed any thought into how to intelligently put in into my car. It's also important to note that I had nearly 2 ft of extra space inside my car once the arrangement was forcefully and carelessly SHOVED into my car. I am left angry, confused, and frustrated with the disrespect I received as a customer. This arrangement is specifically ordered and made for funerals. I am sure that for a business that has been open for this long would have made arrangements for funerals plenty of times. They knew that I was bringing these flowers to a funeral service but proceeded to treat me with disrespect with disregard to whatever grief I was feeling. Whether I was an acquaintance, a friend, or a family member no one should be treated this way minutes before a funeral service. I would hope that a business specializing in providing flowers for all kinds of occasions that has been open for this long would be able to provide not only beautiful flowers but adequate service to all their customers. read more

The bouquet of tulips (8 for $20) I got here didn't do so well, they started to open up after I took them out of their enormous walk-in fridge, but then they closed back up and never opened again. It could have been the change of temperatures, but they looked fairly sad in 3 days. The two single stem giant white roses however were much nicer and lasted nearly twice as long. I also picked up some more roses for a friend's theatre performance. The next set of roses they had were much smaller and at $4 a stem, not that impressive. It seems like its a hit or miss. They were friendly, but "swamped" this time and it took quite a while to get some help. The owner was on the phone talking to a customer, so I guess everyone was working hard. This place is probably better for large orders, not the type of flower shop you stop by for you table arrangement. read more

My niece had a bouquet of lilies and eucalyptus delivered to my 99 year old mother -her grandmother-to honor what would have been her grandfathers 100 birthday. This lily arrangement has been just beautiful! It changes daily and five days in is fragrant and gorgeous. We couldn't be more pleased! I agree with the many other reviewers who complain about horrible, rude service by people who work here. I thought it might be a fluke bad day but this has happened on every occasion when I purchased arrangements here. On top of that, if you want flowers delivered in the morning, you must pay extra. Mine always ARRIVE AFTER 5 PM, and, at times, wilted and bruised - definitely a let-down when you've been expecting a delivery all day. It's definitely not worth it. We won't be ordering from 9thStreet Flowers again. Why reward such poor service?! read more

She told me that they only take specific orders from their website and to place order there. On the website the only selections available are $100 and up. Horrible experience with Ninth Street Flowers! My husband passed away on 4/28/21 and I wanted to order flowers for his memorial service which was being held on the Saturday before Mother's Day. We knew how busy florist would be, however there is no excuse for the rude, abrupt way I was spoken to during such a difficult time. I was first abruptly asked what I needed, I said I wanted flowers for my husbands memorial service. No condolences were offered, just asked when is it, and then told no it's Mother's Day weekend and we're all out of flowers. Extremely abrupt and rude. I just said ok and turned and left. So heartless. I called several other flower shops after that and every one of them first offered condolences, even if they were not able to accommodate me, they were respectful and kind. It's too bad because Ninth street does beautiful arrangements which is why they were my first choice. Unfortunately they missed the opportunity to be memorable in a positive way, instead I will always remember their cruelty. read more

Earlier, I posted a positive review before the flowers were even delivered. What a mistake! This florist turned out to be unprofessional and DISHONEST. I placed an out-of-state phone order. Two weeks later, I reviewed my CC statement and discovered that this florist OVERCHARGED me by nearly $20! It was made very clear what the amount would be when the order was placed. Yet, in a most dishonest fashion, they then billed my credit card for a much higher amount! Had I not checked my card, I would have never discovered this. I raised this issue with their customer service. It was never addressed. And NO, I didn't ask for a full refund - JUST the overcharged amount. The owner didn't even bother to call back; nor did the overcharge ever get refunded. I decided to surprise my girlfriend, who is a student at Duke, by flying down the weekend of our anniversary. I literally know NOTHING about flowers, but, what the heck kind of boyfriend doesnt show up with flowers for an anniversary?? Since I was unfamiliar with my surroundings, I wasn't really sure where to go, but happened to notice a nice little shop just across the street from her dorm. When I first walked in, I was greeted with a friendly southern hello by the girl at the register, (I'm from Boston, where you're lucky to even be acknowledged in public, nevermind a genuine greeting) and explained my situation. The owner, who was also there, immediately came from the back to help me pick out just the right arrangement. He was incredibly patient with my lack of knowledge, and made a variety of suggestions, with varying prices. I could tell that he wasn't trying to "sell me" to make a dollar, but was simply trying to provide good customer service. I ended up settling on a bouquet of locally grown lilies which my girlfriend absolutely loved, which set a great tone for the rest of the weekend, all thanks to the folks at Ninth Street Flowers. i was walking around 9th street and decided to just pop into the store. The window display caught my eye a bit! They store was great. They had a huge walk in cooler with a variety of flowers. The staff was incredibly knowledgable. They knew every type of flower, how to care for it, what it looked best with, etc. I spoke with Larry (the owner i think) and he was great! He gave me a little history lesson on the building and a little about 9th street. He was so nice and helpful! I am also very into the small business and helping out the local shops. I got married on October 6, 2012 and Ninth Street flowers did a fabulous job with my bouquet, and floral arrangements for the church and our reception site. Stephanie the floral designer was incredible and we even had people in the church taking pictures of the flowers. This is easily one of the best florists in the Triangle area. I've been ordering from here for a few years now and it is a go-to for flowers for my mother. They have beautiful, original arrangements and very prompt delivery. While the flowers are not cheap, this is the epitome of "you get what you pay for" (but in a good way!). The flowers last twice as long as anything from a grocery store, have a subtle fragrance and you can really see the craftsmanship and care in their work. The flowers i bought here are still fresh and sitting on my dining room table! i needed 3 small centerpieces for a long table at a dinner party i was throwing. Ordered a dozen white calla lilies. A beautiful arrangement with the exception of there being only 11. I called and was informed that they didn't have any more so I asked to be refunded the price of 1 stem. I figured the going price is about $7-$8. I was informed that the owner would call me so I left my number and the address where the refund could be mailed. Two weeks later I have not heard nor received anything. Well we had a terrible customer service experience. My boyfriend sent me flowers at my work and spent almost $90 for the bouquet. When I received the flowers they were some orchids without any other flowers just thrown into a vase, please note they were left with my secretary and I did not speak to the delivery driver at any point. My boyfriend contacted the company and they sent me a new bouquet of flowers, which were beautiful and were closer to what my boyfriend originally picked out, a mix of orchids and other flowers. The second time the delivery driver was here, the secretary at my work had told me to bring the old flowers down and I said okay, but then in the background I heard him say she can just keep them and the secretary repeated that to me. I went downstairs to pick up the 2nd bouquet and the delivery driver was no longer there, he had left them with the secretary. My boyfriend then received an email stating the delivery driver had told the owner that I said that there was nothing wrong with the first bouquet of flowers, which I never said because I never spoke with the delivery driver on either occasion when he came to my work to deliver both bouquets. Finally, the day following the initial two deliveries, unannounced the driver returned to pick up the first bouquet of flowers after yesterday when he communicated to the secretary that he had told me to keep them. I thought this was terrible customer service, to show up the following day. I appreciate that this company tried to make the situation right by sending a new bouquet (which were night and day from each other) but then there was obviously poor communication between the driver and owner because he never once spoke to me and then to show up unannounced to take back the first bouquet and showing up at my work for a third time is extremely unprofessional when he communicated to the secretary that I should just keep them. I would have given the first bouquet back yesterday if I knew that is what the driver wanted but that is not what he communicated at all. Now to try to correct a mistake on their part, they made this into a larger ordeal than necessary. We will not be going back to this florist. read more
