Their sushi is just like their welcome - wholesome, comforting and very Jspanese. Simply Sushi is a wonderful place to go for fresh, delicious sushi and with their sushi train (who doesn't love a train) you get to view before you buy. You also get to watch their sushi maker create the foods right in front of you - so you know it's going to be fresh! Their menu has different coloured plates that correspond with the plates that pass by you on the train. Each plate has a different cost attached to it (I'm not ashamed to say i usually err toward the cheaper plates) but you know everything is oishii (delicious). If you don't see anything you want on the train you can order and they also have a super speedy take away option if you don't have time to linger. I would recommend the spicy tuna or the inari but stop on by and decide what your favorite sushi is!

Order fresh off the menu and you'll be impressed…read more The more I broaden my horizons beyond the reliable and consistent quality of Sushi Train the more I learn what fuels my sushi train fire. First Test - The Sashimi Fresh, plump and shiny. The raw tuna and salmon had strong fishy flavours and were not chewy or dry. Second Test - The Sushi Roll I had both the Prawn Tempura and Tiger Salmon Roll. The presentation was delicate and the rolls were mini structures topped with rowe and decorative garnishes (not just a slice of lemon or plastic fake leaf). The rice was moist (made fresh) and I enjoyed the combination and balance of flavours in each roll (ie. I didn't taste all mayo or only cucumber etc). Third Test - The Price At $3.50 and $4.50 per plate you can't complain. It compares well with good (and even some ordinary) sushi trains around Adelaide. For $4.50 I received 4 large sliced sushi rolls on a plate and normally you're lucky if you get 2 or 3. Fourth Test - The Atmosphere Efficient and attentive service, quiet atmosphere and comfy seats. The only challenge is that the booths do sit a bit low to be able to see the sushi train. But why would you pick off of that when you can order fresh off the menu every time? Bonus points: They are licensed. I repeat you can drink a good Asahi, Sake or wine while dining here. The verdict? I have gotten on board the train at Simply Sushi and I won't look back.

Ah Sushi Train Unley how I want to love you more but my heart has fallen from your sister (store)…read moreas she has been more honorable to me than you. Unfortunately despite choo-choo choosing this place as my preferred sushi hang out when I'm in the neighbourhood, I can't quite go past the lower standard of performance this sushi train has compared to my Gouger St favourite. Yes I do play favourites children. The go-withouts that have made me reach my star rating: - They don't do clam sushi and that is my partner's favourite - I went in one Saturday night at peak service period and they only had raw salmon available. Things get a bit boring when you have salmon sashimi, salmon nori, salmon sushi rolls... you get where I'm going - The service is a bit slower here than most I won't give up on you though Sushi Train as you are the master of consistently fresh sushi across Adelaide and I love that in a franchise. I just wish you were a little more like your sister...

We probably waited about 15-20 minutes before we got our spot. Plenty of options available on the train but the staff were attentive in asking if we wanted to order off the menu. When we did order off the menu food was quick to come out, except once we had to remind them... The chefs even kept asking if we wanted to order more. This is a cheap night out and a really tasty dinner.

And Dozo is less expensive and better value. Try a 'Don' (meat on rice in a bowl) it's only $8.50 and doesn't take long, less than 5min. Dozo is located at the entrance to the food court, on the Myer side. This is an advantageous spot, as there's a pool of seating here which is a little removed from the food court chaos. There are fried goodies ready to go (think corner store dim sims, etc.), sushi and a few cooked dishes. The made to order Dons are delicious... sweet and sticky teriyaki. The chicken comes with crispy skin. There are weird pickle things (that stain the rice and probably your insides) and cold, creamy mashed potato on the side. As for the sushi... There's an excellent selection of above average sushi. And with a high turnover, the pin on the fresh-o-meter is well in the green. The majority of the rolls are either veg, chicken or beef. Less than a handful are raw fish. Even though they play it safe with the selection, it's still the best sushi in the mall in my opinion. Dear Dozo, get some bento boxes please!

All of these come with avocado and soy sauce. I'll admit, I didn't like sushi straight away, but after you get use to it it's amazing. So give it a go, at least a few times. Dozo is located in the food court in Marion Shopping Centre and there are plenty of table and chairs to sit at. So take a break from shopping and grab some sushi, or some of the other foods they offer (spring rolls!!! :))

Tucked into a very awesome front looking yacht side of the walkers, Tomiko Japanese Steak House is definitely a sure spot to be at. With only 2 Teppanyaki Grill seating up to 8/9 people, you'll sure need to booking in advance. They have both a indoor and outdoor seating, elegantly decorated with transparent window sill to keep the cold night air out but promises to keep the view of the yacht decks and local river view displayed during your dine in. We did a walk-in and was seated immediately outdoors for a dinner setting, seating up to 6 people in our party. Unfortunately, we didn't book the Teppanyaki so we just opt to be outside. I did not see a heater unit as the weather in the summer is generally warm and cool, except for bizarre weather coming thru these days. They have a very generous selection of bottle beers, beer on tap, and unique cocktails, spirits and definitely a whole sleuth of wine selection from White to Reds. We ordered the Seafood Platter that came as pictured and it paired perfectly with my pint of fresh Sapporo Beer on tap and a glass of Cab Sauv from the hills of Adelaide. A few of our friends that were with us enjoyed their mains as much as we did. Customer service is top notch making sure you are happy and satisfied with your selection. The price is a bit on the high side as our dish alone was above the 100's. So if you're looking for something more affordable, you may want to reconsider other options. In the other hand, they have a great selection of shareable items that can possible give you the ideal meal or dinner. Recommending this establishment for those wanting to experience something different. Next time, we're going for the fresh cooking experience that is Teppanyaki.

Damn good sushi…read more This place is conveniently right next door to a laundry I sometimes (frequently) use when I'm either too lazy to hang my washing out, the weather is too crappy, or I just feel like I need an excuse for some good sushi. Cherry Blossom is only a small sushi outlet, however if you get there at the right time of day (11.30-12 til 2pm) they have a sensational array of cold rolls, sushi platters and the spiciest tuna rolls I've experienced in Adelaide. All the ingredients are fresh and tasty, and the guys running the place are friendly and always seem happy to be there, even if you are just popping in for a $2 roll whilst your laundry dries. 4/5 Stars for these champions of sushi, however it's worth noting that if I could add a half star for the presence of L.A Cola and the other smaller soft drink and water brands, rather than the plethora of pepsi or coke usually offered, I very definitely would.

It's my own fault really, I've been here a few times and it's always been the same- word to the wise: if your sushi hand roll looks as if it's been sitting out all day, it probably has. The taste is never super fresh but also kinda flavourless, which really detracts from the smugness you should feel for choosing Japanese over the burger you really want. If you're really in the mood for sushi, head round the corner to Simply Sushi on Jetty Road.
