As you enter the restaurant you are greeted with 'Irrasshaimase'? The Japanese greeting for 'welcome to our store' or 'come on in'. Their sushi is just like their welcome - wholesome, comforting and very Jspanese. Simply Sushi is a wonderful place to go for fresh, delicious sushi and with their sushi train (who doesn't love a train) you get to view before you buy. You also get to watch their sushi maker create the foods right in front of you - so you know it's going to be fresh! Their menu has different coloured plates that correspond with the plates that pass by you on the train. Each plate has a different cost attached to it (I'm not ashamed to say i usually err toward the cheaper plates) but you know everything is oishii (delicious). If you don't see anything you want on the train you can order and they also have a super speedy take away option if you don't have time to linger. I would recommend the spicy tuna or the inari but stop on by and decide what your favorite sushi is! read more

Order fresh off the menu and you'll be impressed. The more I broaden my horizons beyond the reliable and consistent quality of Sushi Train the more I learn what fuels my sushi train fire. First Test - The Sashimi Fresh, plump and shiny. The raw tuna and salmon had strong fishy flavours and were not chewy or dry. Second Test - The Sushi Roll I had both the Prawn Tempura and Tiger Salmon Roll. The presentation was delicate and the rolls were mini structures topped with rowe and decorative garnishes (not just a slice of lemon or plastic fake leaf). The rice was moist (made fresh) and I enjoyed the combination and balance of flavours in each roll (ie. I didn't taste all mayo or only cucumber etc). Third Test - The Price At $3.50 and $4.50 per plate you can't complain. It compares well with good (and even some ordinary) sushi trains around Adelaide. For $4.50 I received 4 large sliced sushi rolls on a plate and normally you're lucky if you get 2 or 3. Fourth Test - The Atmosphere Efficient and attentive service, quiet atmosphere and comfy seats. The only challenge is that the booths do sit a bit low to be able to see the sushi train. But why would you pick off of that when you can order fresh off the menu every time? I love sushi and this is one of my favourite sushi bars because the food is always very fresh. The train is well stocked but not overstocked so you don't get sushi that has been going around for too long. Like most sushi trains, the chefs prepare the food in front of you which is great for entertainment, as well as reassurance. Surprisingly enough, it was owned by a Chinese lady but now has been taken over by a lovely Korean guy, whose name I have been told but it is tricky to remember. I think this restaurant serves one of the best and freshest salmon ngiri. If you are reading this review you probably love sushi too and already know that this means fresh salmon on a hand shaped bed of rice. Out the back there is a full kitchen so you can order an array of hot, cooked food as well, if you so desire. Also, towards the back of the restaurant are some tables with bench seats if you don't want to sit up to the train. Great for a healthy quick hunger fix. read more

Wide enough variety to please all, this place is perfect for a quick week night dinner after a walk along the beach. The sushi is fresh but to ensure you get the best, order off the menu. They are quick and offer a main menu selection for those who may not like sushi. The miso soup is better then most and if you ever get to try their udon noodle soup (an occasional special) you won't be disappointed. read more

I have been coming here for years now and it is seriously some of the yummiest and freshest sushi I have ever tried!!! My personal favourites would be the reverse pumpkin rolls, the miso soup and the plain old tuna hasomaki. I think that the owners must have changed hands because there are some new faces around and a few adjustments to the menu, however the service is still splendid and the sushi is always just what I needed. I've spent more money at Simply Sushi than I'd care to remember - there's something just so delicious about that Salmon sashimi that I can't stay away! It's always a treat to visit; the staff here are wonderful and always welcome us warmly into the restaurant. Definitely try the hot green tea - one of the best Green teas I've ever drunk - kind of meaty and moorish and definitely perfect for a cold Winter night. My fiancé's favourite is the Abalone Gunken (I think it's a Gunken!)- I haven't been brave enough to try it, but he swears it's the best. I'm always down for the salmon sashimi, which just melts in your mouth. Karaage, okonomiyaki and reverse pumpkin rolls are all delicious as well. Great range of sushi and drinks, heaps of seating and always a relaxed atmosphere. Great for a casual night out. We usually end up around the $50-$60 mark for two of us with drinks - not too bad! read more

Simply sushi is a good name for this place. It had great sushi but it didn't really do it for me like Sushi Train at Unley. Also the sushi train was a bit high up for the seats, so it was hard to see what was available without standing up, in front of your friends. The staff were very friendly though. Menus are extensive and included bento boxes and Udon noodle dishes in addition the sushi and sashimi plates. Everything is carefully prepared and well presented. Simply, the best take on Sushi Train that I have stumbled across, and it is located at Glenelg as well. I like it. My first impressions was that this place looked nice, and exhibited a restaurant like demeanour. Therefore an enjoyable escape for when enjoying sushi. This sushi train of such circulates around a deformed rectangular shaped table. There are also a few separate tables around the place, and the option to directly order from the menu, and not just select from the revolving table. In such case, the service is fast and efficient. Taste wise, expect sushi fusion here that is of a fairly high standard. The sauce placed upon the pumpkin role in particular, tasted ridiculously good. Its residue then went on to make all the sushi I had taste even better. There is also some high in taste chicken options that leave you more than satisfied. Yum-my. Following the trend of other sushi stores of its kind, Simply sushi offers different prices depending on the colour of the plate. Therefore expect prices ranging from $2.50 to $7.50 a sushi plate, and expect to continue on your merry way post demolishing a number of plates and paying more than intentionally desired. If you need something that isn't on the menu, just ask and they will give it a go, also if something isn't on the conveyor, again just ask and it will be on your plate in just a few minutes. Simply Sushi is simply fantastic. One of the more authentic feeling Japanese places in Adelaide. Dining here it gives clean and sophisticated ambiance with more a classical interior design and a customary train that doles out delicious sushi. I have to recommend the Duck Avocado Nigiri and the Spicy Fish Maki. Well seasoned and masterfully crafted by the sage chefs that pump out dishes minute after minute. Beside the Sushi menu they have a Hot menu with Bento Boxes made to order and a vartiety of other classic Japanese Cuisine. The service is professional, quick to help with any Sushi related problems. Leaving this place they give a loud farewell (that actually startled me). Next time I'll go in and yell "OHAYOO" just for good measure. read more
