The classes have helped immensely with strength, coordination and my weight loss program. Sansei even offer a weeks worth of free classes so you can come and try it out. Hope to see you there soon!

Sensei Ramon Veras and his team are extremely experienced, encouraging, and treat every student with respect. TKC teaches traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu karate which is very difficult to find. I feel fortunate that TKC and Sensei Ramon are so great at what they do and that they are so close to where I live. I trained in a different martial arts style some years ago but my experience at Traditional Karate Center has been so much better. Sensei Ramon truly puts quality first. He wants every student to really learn and understand what they are doing. Students advance only when they are ready and when they show proficiency in their skills. As a result, each time you advance a belt level a true sense of accomplishment is felt, because you met the high standards that were set. If you want to learn real Okinawan martial arts and truly apply what you are taught, you can't do better than Traditional Karate Center.

I really wish I could rate them better, and saddens me that they do business the way that they do…read more They are close to our house so they are at a very convenient location for our family. Here is where the problems lay though... 1) My child is involved in many extracurricular activities and all of them auto-bill by credit card with no issues. However, Sugar Land Gymnastics will charge you an extra 10.00 a month for using a credit card. Most businesses would be more than happy to have a guaranteed payment every month, but not Sugar Land Gymnastics. 2) Again, my child is involved in many extracurricular activities, and sometimes the schedule needs to be adjusted. If you need to change your child's schedule they will charge you 35.00 to do so. Nobody else does this, it does not cost them a dime and they are going to punish you because you are trying to juggle things around in order to keep doing business with them. Makes me think they don't really want my business. 3) If they decide to cancel a class which they have done many times, they will not pro-rate the fees like everyone else. Instead they will give you a token for a make-up class. The problem is my child is busy the other days of the week. And on top of that the make-up token expires in 30 days. I can't even tell you how many tokens have come and gone unspent. They cancelled class earlier this month for "Winter Games" and issued a token. I searched the entire winter break and one class was available and I signed up for it and just got notice back the make-up class request was denied. As much as I would like my child to continue gymnastics I think it's time to move on to a business that values our business...

My kids have been part of the Ganbaru family for a few months now, and they enjoy every class and love their Sensei. The class is well organized. All kids get to participate and learn. They use real Japanese Karate terminology. The instructors are knowledgeable and you can tell their love for the art. They teach traditional shotokan karate. I recommend this place 100%.

From the owner: Welcome to Ganshin Dojo, where we honor the tradition of Japanese Shōtōkan Karate-Dō. The name…read moreGanshin was inspired by Hanshi Luis Ganhao, who combined elements from previous dojo names like Ganbaru and Zanshin to form "GanShin," which best reflects the spirit that defines their essence. When separated into two kanji ideograms, "Gan" 頑 means stubborn, determined, strong-willed, and "Shin" 心 means heart, spirit. Together, they convey a powerful meaning for our karate-dō dojo: "a determined, firm, and resolute heart and spirit," embodying our philosophy of perseverance and discipline in the pursuit of mastery. At Ganshin Dojo, we are committed to preserving the authentic techniques and principles of Shōtōkan, guiding our students to not only develop physical power but also to build strength of character. Our motto, "mastery through practice, power with purpose, excellence in character," reflects our core belief that true karate is about more than just skill—it's about cultivating the mind, body, and spirit. Join us in this exciting journey to unlock your potential and become part of a tradition that inspires greatness!
