Tuna

A unique and upscale date night like no other, highly recommend reserving a tuna cutting experience. We loved the courses, drinks and left feeling like we couldn't eat another bite of food.

Elegant and Minimalist Sushi spot in San Antonio. Right behind the restaurant there is a parking garage, very convenient when you are in downtown. This review is going to be bitter-sweet, because I got horrible service at the bar but excellent service at the restaurant. The bar tender that helped us was very anal about certain things, never smiled and did not know how to speak to customers. But at the restaurant, the girls were amazing, they really make this place better. They are a little strict about the happy hour menu and where you can be seated. So if you are ordering from the Happy Hour Menu you cannot sit at the restaurant, you must to sit at the bar or by the sushi chef. Little weird rule. The food is outstanding and the cocktail excellently crafted. Perfect for a date, business dinner or a girl night out.

Second time eating at this sushi restaurant and really enjoyed it! It was a Friday evening, around 7:30 PM so walked it and it was about a 20 minute wait for 3 people. Not too bad! Service is always great here. Hosts and servers are very welcoming and kind. Tried the lemon special roll, which was so so good and yummy! Pretty small restaurant space with a few tables outdoors, but it was way too hot to sit outside. The menu is pretty extensive, with so many different rolls to choose from. Edamame is excellent too. WOuld come back soon!!

Downtown residence for 15 years and in hospitality for over 30 years. The food was incredible and the service at a different level! Cin went to the website and saw a vegetarian option when we were driving to the restaurant. We put in our order with Kayla (if I was not retired, I would of STOLEN HER AWAY FROM NINETEEN!) WOW. When Cin placed her order, we could tell something was wrong, but ROCK STAR Kayla said she never heard of that on the menu, but she would check with the chef. She came back to tell us that dish had been discontinued a while back, but she would talk with the GM and chef for a resolution. She came back with the GM to tell us they would honor Cins request, as they had everything to make the dish. The ship sails as the captain sails it. The GM was very nice, we chatted about downtown living for 5 minutes. Common man, what!!!! Then to boot, the entire meal a 10. Just a tad noisy, but that's a building issue. Little hard to hear each other.

First time going here and once you go in it's very open and welcoming. Staff is super friendly and attentive. It is very clean and nice lighting. Seated pretty quickly and given water immediately. Waiter came within 5 minutes he did very well checking in us and recommending things in the menu. They will make common sushi rolls if you aren't able to find anything you like or prefer. I definitely would go here again but definitely in the pricey side but worth it!

This is a very cool restaurant. There is an upstairs that opens to the extremely high ceilings. The dining room downstairs is quite large with a variety of seating options (tables, booths). The bar on your right when you first enter is gorgeous and they make delicious cocktails. One star off for noise as the very high ceilings make for a loud atmosphere. The sushi, while delicious, is a little bit small portion wise for the price you are paying. Overall I would recommend this restaurant as a good sushi spot in town

Went here for a friend's birthday dinner & it was great! Atmosphere was lovely, very modern. They have a great bar with lots of seating. They also have seating along the Susie bar. The servers were pleasant & friendly. The drinks & food came out timely & everything was delicious. The shrimp were cooked perfectly & had great seasoning, a little spicy. The sushi was so fresh. Would recommend for a sushi spot!

We went for restaurant week. Where as other spots in town offer full plates for the same cost. This place failed to deliver. And for $55 a person the plates were incredibly small and the flavors subpar. Similar to Sushi from HEB. Started off poor with water that tasted fresh from the tap. Had to ask for bottled water. Service was fine. And the ambience is of a nice restaurant here in San Antonio. But the food doesn't deliver. If you want overpriced "posh" food waste your money here. If you want real sushi for a fraction of the price - go to Koi Kawa. Photos attached.

This restaurant is amazing!! Visited for happy hour, and the food and deals were unbelievable. The service was also fantastic; the bartender answered many of our questions and recommended great options! The inside is very pretty, particularly the high ceilings! It is clean, simple, and elegant. I noticed there is an upstairs area too, perhaps for private parties or events. 100/10 recommend visiting for happy hour!

I've been here twice and the food was good but just a little too boujie for my taste. Flavors were a bit too elevated and of course you are dropping a pretty penny. Service has been good but things tend to take a long time to come out, even when the place isn't crowded. Their house ranch was super unique and niche. Cool to try but I won't get it again. There was something we wanted to try that they were also out of.

We came as guests to our friend's 40th birthday party and oh my goodness, what a fancy and great place to celebrate. There was a fairly large group of us so we were upstairs. So we could take in the ambiance. Our server took great care of us drinking our cocktails and multiple courses of food. Our drinks were tasty and refreshing. The food was flavorful and delicious. This is definitely a place that is great for a fancy night out on a date, with friends, or a solo escape.

I was craving sushi. Stopped by this restaurant on a Saturday evening. I did make reservations and I am glad I did because it was pretty full. They have valet parking , but there's a parking garage behind the restaurant that you can park at as well. I started off with the lychee Mojito. I felt like it was too sweet for me. For Appetizers, we had shishito peppers and brussels sprouts. The brussels sprouts were definitely the favorite. They had great flavor and the serving size was pretty big. For our main dishes, we shared the upscale roll, Lemon kani roll and the chef choice nigiri and a chutoro hand roll. By far, the upscale roll was our favorite. The flavors just exploded in your mouth. We had the fried banana cheesecake that came with ice cream and drizzle of strawberry. It was the perfect ending to a great meal. We were definitely happy when we left. Everyone we encounter was friendly. Our waiter was attentive

Very cool space. Cavernous yet elegant. And a little noisy. Nice happy hour specials but most of the dishes were on the sour side of the spectrum. Not quite balanced. The Hyaku Heater was a nice roll but honestly not very spicy. Overall we enjoyed our meal. Cudos for having Asahi NA.

We decided to get the steak and shrimp hibachi separately. I was scared that the portioning for the meat was going to suck, but they didn't disappoint. The portion sizes were great. I got full after eating about half of mine. The cook was hilarious and even roasted me a bit during the night haha. The steak was seasoned perfectly and tender. The rice was bomb and the veggies were great too. The restaurant looks like a typical hibachi restaurant with regular table seating as well as the seating in front of the grill. I still prefer other hibachi places that I've tried, but I would still come back here for a nice dinner!

I was told there was a $150 deposit that comes off your bill, no problem! I was then told there is $10 fee for every person that doesn't show. ??? Ya, no. When I called the day of the party to let them know our party of 25 was coming in, the lady who answered told me she would call her gm and call me right back. A few minutes later I received a call and she informed me "they could not accommodate us" and hung up. I found a different restaurant that was more than happy to take us, 6 hours before the start of the party, and they made all the money that Osaka decided to turn down. We have now found a place that welcomes everyone when you wouldn't.

This restaurant is located just in side the entrance of the tea garden. The tables have signs stating they are only for actively dining guests. I was the only patron and there were about 10 tables so I think they could be a bit more lax. You order via QR code on a website. As such, there's no change to ask for recommendations and such. I got the sesame salad with Krab salad ($14) and the yuzu limeade slushee ($8) with mango sinkers ($1 up charge, popping boba balls, non tapioca). The gentleman who brought out my food offered sauces and I requested soy sauce and some ice water for my dog. He also provided some recs of places to go throughout the city as I told him I was visiting. The salad was delicious and filling. I could have done without the wontons as they were super greasy but I enjoyed the garlic crisps. The yuzu limeade was AMAZING! Tangy, refreshing and the boba balls were fun and tasty. I took off one star because the restrooms were out of order. They had porta potties in the parking lot but they had no hand washing station. I asked the server about this and he offered hand wipes but turns out they'd run out. They're clearly going for a club-style omakase vibe with music, darker lighting, and a smoky atmosphere. It's cute that they tried to blend a nightlife feel with sushi. For me, it didn't quite land, but I can appreciate the attempt. Service was impeccable. The team was warm, attentive, and professional throughout the night. The food was decent for the price, but the flavor curation felt off. The soup tasted like bland water. The poke/nacho was okay but leaned too salty. The salad felt like a basic garden salad tossed in as an afterthought. The fish itself was fresh, which matters most for sushi. Where it struggled was in execution and timing. The nigiri was made all at once for the entire group instead of paced out. Sushi really should be eaten within a certain window, and by the time we got through everything the flavors started blending together. The seasoning also felt inconsistent. At one point the chef zested too much lime on several pieces which left a bitter note and pushed citrus onto dishes that didn't need it. It felt like the kitchen was vibing more with the music and DJ energy than carefully building flavor profiles. Overall, good fish and decent sushi, but the curation and taste balance are missing. The ambiance seems to be the main focus rather than the food itself. Still worth trying once. It's a fun concept and a good night out. I just don't think it's the place that will put San Antonio on the sushi map yet.

This location is conveniently located near the Quarry area and has plenty of parking all around. Sushi Zushi used to be a place where we would have date nights with my friends and now it feels a little old and rundown. The staff is always very nice, but they are always working too many tables at the same time and forget some of your stuff. Frankly I haven't had a smooth dine-in experience in years. The quality of the food is still there, however I feel like they are definitely overpriced. I understand the cost of goods has gone up, but it feels like they keep making their plates even smaller and more expensive every time I visit.
