When I settled on celebrating a recent huge accomplishment in my life with a boudoir shoot, I checked with Yelp and started following some Instagram accounts. I was most drawn to the photos coming out of Nine23 Boudoir. Ashley, the owner, is very down to earth and approachable. As I sat in the chair to get my hair and make up done by Andi, Ashley struck up a conversation with me. When Andi finished and I looked like a goddess from the neck up, Ashley helped me pick a couple of suitable clothing options I had brought with me. Once I was dressed, then we spent the next couple of hours taking photos and various rooms of her studio. Ashley talked me through each pose and even showed me by contorting her own body into the pose she wanted me to mimic. I appreciated her thoroughness and her patience. Then, to get just the perfect shot, she would either crouch down or jump up on a piece of furniture or stand behind a prop. She was moving around more than I was. When we were done with the photographing, she sent me out to find myself some lunch. When I came back an hour later, she was ready to show me the proofs. They were all so amazing! I kept thinking to myself, who is that gorgeous woman in these photos? I wanted to order all of them! To help me stay within budget, she presented my photos to me in smaller groups to help me make informed choices. Yes, these are emotional choices for sure. But Ashley helped me look at them in a very specific way so I will get great representation in the album I'm ordering. I cannot wait to see my final product. I am so proud of it. I planned to do this shoot because I didn't have professional pictures done with any of my other pregnancies. I didn't want to do the same pregnancy photos where I have a flower wreath on my head, wearing a lace dress, and lounging in a bath of 2% milk. My personality is far too bold for that, so I scheduled a shoot with Ashley's studio. I cannot have been more happy with what she and Marissa did. I was worried that they may not be able to do my hair and makeup because I am a mocha-skinned Black woman, but I looked divine. I loved almost all 120 photos, and it hurt to cut down my options! I. Look I am 100% terrible at writing reviews so I never do. But for Ashley I must! I booked my session well in advance and it just so happened to coincide along a really low point in my life and I was going to cancel up until the last day. However, I went through with it and have 0 regrets. Ashley was amazing, I felt special and like one of the girls and the experience was amazing. Ashley spent time explaining poses why it would look good and she backs it all up with your ordering session. She never rushes you and lets you take your time. Yes the products cost $, but for what you get it is 1000% worth it. Why would you want to pay good money for an okay product? With Ashley you will pay for what you get and so much more! If I could give this company a 6 star review I would. I was nervous when I got there but they made me feel so comfortable. It was an uplifting experience. After having two kids and well... lots of tacos and margaritas it's easy to be self-conscious about my body. After my session, I felt incredible and I'm so pleased with the results. Hey ladies...just had my reveal today and I have to say...I am blown away by how many images I loved!!! Typically, I'll take 20 selfies and keep 1. So, for no fault to Ashley, I'd anticipated going for the smallest package, thinking I wouldn't like many images. BUT it was impossible....I simply could not narrow it down that much. We got rid of several that I had to tell myself.... I'll have the digital copy... it'll be okay...but it was still painful to do, as I truly loved so many of them!! If you're at all worried about your reveal, I hope this eases your mind somewhat....you'll look amazing! read more

Unprofessional; con-artist. She will waste you're time, steal your money, and blame you for a bad picture. She says she wants to get to know you to make your session YOU, then when she doesn't listen to you, she will say that it doesn't matter as much as her artistic vision - I'm not paying you to fulfill your artistic vision!!! I'm paying you because you said you could make my vision come to life. Even at "the reveal" she bragged about the great communication I'd get with my products in transit. Nothing happened. Not a phone call, not an email, or a text. I had to call and email to ask where it was. I'm not the only one who got jerked around. Other clients saw my post here and contacted me to vent about their crappy service, unprofessionalism, and dishonesty with pricing. The one good thing that I can say with this whole ordeal is that the little black book was put together well (even though she put in one picture that I didn't mark). It was a good layout. read more

I did a session and bought a package from Ashley as an engagement gift for my fiance. We did a few outfits and several poses. I'm fairly modest generally, but Ashley really helped me feel sexy and beautiful (along with her hair & makeup assistant). The results were fabulous-- so many flattering shots that we love. Totally worth every penny, between the experience and the photos we got. Everything was handled with sensitivity and a real sense of fun. I cannot get over how AMAZING Nine23 is! Ashley's talent is unmatched and Heather is one of the best stylist I've ever been to. From the very beginning, Ashley sent out emails letting me know what to expect for my shoot, what to wear for my body type, and what to be prepared with day of. I never felt out of the loop or confused along the way. She even gave me her personal number to call with any questions or to shoot pictures of possible outfits! My first session was in 2018, my second in 2019, and my most recent was in June 2020. Ashley is worth every penny because I am worth investing in! I just did my session on Friday (it is now Monday morning) and I'm still on a high from the experience! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd do something like this, but I'm so glad I did. Heather (the stylist) is really sweet and did a beautiful job with my hair and makeup, making sure to take the time to get it just right when I wasn't totally digging my first look in the mirror. She patiently worked on my hair until I loved the way it looked. Ashley (the photographer) is so friendly and cheerful you can't help but feel comfortable with her. She treats you like an old friend right from the start. She knew the vision I wanted for my session and helped me achieve that, even though I was asking for two somewhat contradicting vibes. She helped me pick my outfits and while I was in hair and makeup she took the time to think about what poses she thought would look best with each outfit and wrote everything down. Seeing she had a clear plan and vision gave me confidence when it was time for the shoot. This is all she does, so she knows what she's doing to make sure you look your absolute best in every shot. She posed me down to the smallest detail. She took the time and care to make sure everything was just right in every shot, fixing my hair and giving me clear instructions when I needed to make adjustments to my position. When it was done she even sent me home with a bath bomb to help ease my sore and tired muscles (those poses are no joke!). It's only been a couple of days so I obviously haven't seen the results yet, but I got a quick peek at a couple of the photos on her camera as she was taking them and I already love what I saw. I go back for my reveal in less than two weeks and I'm sure it's going to be difficult to narrow down my favorites. I paid a session fee up front (which covers hair and makeup) and I'll pay for the final products when I order them at my reveal. I've already chosen my product(s) based on the price list she gave me, so I know exactly what to expect when it comes time to pay for my prints. Everything was clearly stated up front, and while the products aren't cheap, you absolutely get what you pay for, and it is worth every penny. Once I've received my final products I'll be sure to come back and update my review, but I really have no doubt I'm going to be very happy with everything in the end! read more
