I bought a groupon for the Haute Mama Boudoir segment of her business. Thank goodness I did not pay full price!
First of all, the room was a typical bed and breakfast room which for 1 outfit was ok but for the other outfit I had, it did not fit the style. She shot this outfit in the corner with half the window drapes. It looked really strange. I guess this was the best she was going to get since she did not prepare/plan/ask what I would be wearing. Or think of something creative.
I brought some photo ideas and I am glad I did. I felt as she expected me to already know what positions I would want to do. I understand asking if I have any preferences and suggestions but she professionally should know what would work best with your body. The one pose, she handed me the picture, in a flinging motion, saying - "I cannot even see what position she is in, so that's up to you to get in that pose". Other than what I brought, she did what she called her "route shots". I guess I am just a route customer, nothing special.
As she did make it very clear that she does not position the expressions on your face, do not expect much of any part of your body with special little adjustments that make a picture amazing and flattering. Before taking the picture, I would ask if my positioning was ok and every time she would say in a condescending tone- "you're in the same position as the photo". I am not skinny mini like the model photos I brought in, I know this, but I have had professional photos done before where she would adjust me with tricks of the trade that can flatter my body with no problem. Not in this case. At one point I accidently pulled the comforter and sheets down with my stiletto by accident. I tried to fix it but she kept pushing for the next shot.
Afterwards, when I went to change, I looked in the mirror and noticed my mascara and eye liner had ran. Then I looked down to start taking my garter straps off and they must of unhooked because they were not attached!!! I came out from changing and asked, was my make up smeared the whole time? She said again condescending - "I thought you were going for that look". WHAT????
I set the appointment for the picture viewing. We did it online through a website I can see her navigating, also we were on the phone together. Which was a good way to do it since her main location is far away from her second location. I felt rushed on the phone. She talked so fast and pushed for an answer. The appointment was a total of 6min. I was not happy with any of them but the groupon included 2 so I chose 2. She said they will be mailed out in a couple days. I waited 9 days and emailed asking if they were sent yet. 3 days later, someone else reply. He said it would be an additional 7-10days from his email. I can only assume they forgot to send the photos from the original appointment.
If you have low expectations and willing to pay a high price, then this is the place for you. If you are expecting more, grab your camera and shoot the pictures yourself. Guaranteed you'll do better! read more
