Being a personal caregiver I've had the opportunity to meet many doctors and Dr. Thaker is something else. On the first visit, once in the exam room, I was briefed on what the rules were before the doctor were to see me. 1. Do not let the backing of the chair I'm sitting in, hit the wall as to not damage it. 2. Do not interrupt the doctor as he's speaking. 3. If I were to have any questions wait until he's finished speaking to ask them. Once he did come in he didn't make eye contact and proceeded to read the chart. I have never met such a rude doctor. The only positive thing about this office is their staff Tony and Imelda. Tony has been a pleasure to speak with everytime. He goes above and beyond to not only explain each and every detail but he also listens and answers any questions you may have and with a smile. Imelda is very pleasant and she's also the Spanish speaking interpreter. They are honestly the only reason why I was able to keep my appointments, otherwise I would have switched doctors. read more

My appointment was at 10 AM on Monday, 02/17/2025. My wife and I arrived at least 15 minutes early so I could fill out several forms since I was a new patient. After completing the forms, I waited for a long time, but several patients were still ahead of me. Even by 10:30 AM, they hadn't called my name. We had already been waiting for more than 30 minutes, so my wife and I both needed to use the restroom. I asked a man at the front desk if my wife and I could use the bathroom. He told me that only patients were allowed to use their restroom, while accompanying persons had to use a public restroom instead. He explained that because they treat many patients with chronic urinary issues, they need to keep their restroom available for them. I then asked him where my wife could go, since there were only clinics in the area and no grocery stores or shops nearby. He simply replied, "I don't know. You need to find somewhere else." This was very inhumane treatment toward both patients and their accompanying family members. I then approached another medical receptionist and asked if I could use the restroom. He opened the door for me, and I was able to go. However, my wife still wasn't allowed to use the bathroom, and I didn't feel that was right. In the end, I canceled my appointment after waiting for almost an hour and left the clinic. This is Unreasonable wait time, poor patient communication, and inhumane restroom policy that discriminates against accompanying family members. I want the clinic to improve its scheduling process, provide better communication about wait times, and implement a more humane restroom policy for patients and their family members. read more

I have been under the care for 3 months. The doctor prescribed a medication for me a month ago and still has not sent it to the pharmacy. I called their office for a week and never got through to anyone and never had my messages returned. Got my insurance company involved and they put them on hold for 20 minutes. This doctor provides substandard, inadequate care. My elderly father had to provide his own SPANISH interpretation through his children because the front desk stated that the alternative would be having this doctor eventually provide his notes to a third-party interpreter who would call at a random time and date since they couldn't provide that appointment information before hand (violating timely access to interpreters and adequate medical care). Then, we were scheduled for an 8:30-10:30AM call window. I called the office at 10:00AM and they reassured me that this doctor was going to call by 10:30AM because we were on his schedule and they claimed he was not in office to ask. We finally received a call from an assistant by 11:30AM claiming "there was an error in scheduling," he apologized, then said that we would be the first patients the doctor would call within the same time frame the following day. Again, the doctor called at 10:26AM, 4 minutes before the allotted time frame (waste of our time) and pursued to not even ask how we were doing and condensed an "evaluation" in less than 5 minutes. Knowing that his substandard office didn't provide interpretation, he did not pause nor allow any times for questions. By the end of the call, he alluded to a surgery and when I inquired the name of the surgery and the spelling he responded that it was not his job to spell things out for me, that I should check with my dad's PC who provided the referral or his front desk staff who actually have the time to spell things out for me - HA! He provided no details as to why the surgery was needed, what it would entail, or why he was even raising it! His office also had over 2 weeks to prepare the proper medical documentation for this evaluation, and they still were 1) missing a critical addendum from another hospital's evaluation and 2) had a mislabeled radiology report. Now I'm seeing he lists Spanish as a primary language in his websites, and that is obviously incorrect. Being asked to interpret raises HIPAA concerns, and infringes on his right to adequate medical care and interpretation in a timely manner. Needless to say, I would NEVER recommend this bozo with a subpar Louisiana degree. Do better! Este médico brinda una atención deficiente e inadecuada. So after waiting an hour for my husband to be called back for his vasectomy . I am 37 weeks pregnant, I asked if i could use the restroom and I was told they would have to ask the doctor because they have strict rules on restroom usages. The front desk goes back and asks and the doctor who said "it's not his problem." There are no signs stating they don't have a public restroom or that they refuse the right to serve anyone. The Doctor is a jerk. Acted like I was wasting his time. The restrooms are not accessible unless you are leaving a urine sample. This is a bladder doctor, but you can't use the toilets. I had an appointment with this doctor today. August 24, 2023. I arrived 15 minutes early. Place was empty. Filled in their paperwork. Last month it's the first time for my husband to see the doctor Thaker Nimish, but we had a very bad experience. He scheduled so many patients one day and we had to wait for more than two hours, but he spoke English too fast to be understood, only talking about the case for 2-3 minutes, then asked his assistant to talk to us. The reason was he was very busy. They don't allow patients to use their restroom and we had to be out and look for restrooms everywhere. We were feeling so bad. Since considering the location is not that far from where we live, we continued to take the second appointment they made. After the lab report, only my husband had to see the doctor by himself, but he can not understand his English fully. My husband asked him to talk to our son on the phone. He said he was too busy and asked my son to talk to his assistant on the phone. If we consult an assistant instead of a specialist, would it be much better for us to search google? We paid $65 for a specialist instead of an assistant, why did he charge us with a specialist fee and also from insurance as well? That's not the correct way for the doctor to earn money!. Later on, the assistant told us they'd send a medication order to our pharmacy nearby. We checked for two days, and the pharmacy said they didn't receive both answer machine or email. I called the clinic again. Afterward, they sent it, but they made a mistake for my husband's birthday so that until now we couldn't pick up the medicine. The doctor made another lab order asking my husband to take it on 06/06, and an appointment to see him on 06/08. But today at nearly noon they called and said we can not see the doctor as scheduled, and they asked if my husband can do the lab today and see the doctor on Monday.06/06. The bladder lab needs my husband to take a lot of water before two days of the lab. So we were so angry with the doctor's poor service and complained to them very badly. My dad was a patient here and I am so glad he decided to switch doctors mainly because of the staff. He said he would walk in and not be greeted just ignored, also they would confirm appointments for wrong days so when he showed up they tell him he's not scheduled. Overall very unprofessional, rude and incompetent. After switching my dad had the DaVinci robotic surgery at a well known hospital who is the leader in robotic surgeries. Oh and by the way if you ever need your medical records they say it's 14 business days plus $30 dollars and on the 14 business day that is when they will work on them so you have to wait in the office while they copy your records! read more

Clinic staff and MA seems to be in disarray shuffling papers around. I was called by the MA to fill out forms after 45 minutes of waiting and I told hm I have it done during my previous visit. I ask the female staff where are the forms I filled before and she snap back to me and said ask the MA (medical assistant) The MA finally called me afterb 1.5 hrs to measure water in my bladder. It was not enough water volume so he told me to drink more water required and walk for 5 minutes. MA called me again and said he can not do the test and that he is leaving, And nobody else can do it so he has to schedule for the next day. I was referred to Dr. Thaker several years ago by my primary physician when he diagnosed a problem that I had as being the result of bladder stones. I was referred to Dr. Thaker because he is considered to be the best (locally) in his field. Dr. Thaker has performed two successful (solving the problem) surgeries on me, and at this point, I would not trust anyone else to do as thorough a job as him. Yes, the office wait time can be long, but I have other doctors with long wait times too. I think that's just how it is nowadays, as I've heard that there's actually a shortage of doctors now since more people than ever now have medical insurance. In addition, I never feel rushed when I see the doctor, and he lets me give my input on tests and procedures that we may be doing. My husband had a stroke and some urine flow problems after. We went to Dr Nimish Thacker's office approximately 4-5 times and only saw the doctor once. The test were administered by the staff, Telemed appts were with Dr Thacker. After a urine flow test they said the flow was within limits. After a Telemed appt, I told Dr. Thacker I recorded the flow of my husband's urine, and he refused to listen to it because he's a urologist and knows what the issues are. We had another appointment to check the flow, and then a TeleMed appointment with the doctor a week later. Well things became worse for my husband, and he couldn't hold the flow which became a problem. I called the doctors office to see if we could get an earlier TeleMed appointment because of everything that was happening and it was bad. I spoke to three people explaining our concerns. The second woman I spoke to is the office Mgr, I will refer to her as E, came back onto the phone after I spoke to all three people and began to tell me that we did NOT have an emergency and would have to wait till our telemed appt, totally dismissing me, and didn't have time to talk to me because she said she had a real emergency on the other line. I asked for her name and she put me on hold. I had to hang up and call back to ask her name. I told her that I'm beginning to think that Dr. Thacker is a quack because my husband had been seeing him since October of last year and still had not fixed the problem. She flipped out. Needless to say, we never received the call from Dr. Thacker and he dropped my husband as a patient because of my comment. How unprofessional is that!! This doctor based the care of my husband not on medical issues but on feelings because he didn't like what I said, and I didn't even say it to him, I said it to an office manager. I was referred to Dr. Thaker as a Worker's Comp case and I was pleasantly surprised on how thorough and professional he has been with my diagnosis and treatments. As a result, I had my Primary Care doctor refer my husband to Dr. Thaker for a second opinion for a prostate issue because he was going to have a biopsy and possible surgery by another Urologist. However, due to Dr. Thaker's conservative approach, my husband did not need a biopsy nor surgery and we are so blessed and thankful for that. Absolute waste of time. Ancient facilities and terrible practices. They run late... and not by a little, by hours. The staff doesn't communicate anything. I sat in a room half nude for 30 minutes... mind you I had already waited an hour past my appointment in the main lobby. This place sucks, stay away. STAY AWAY. I took my 83 year old dad, who is at a skilled nursing facility, for his (initial) 2:30 p.m. appointment with this specialist (urologist). We arrived early, but had to wait TWO HOURS. We were ushered into an exam room at 4:30, only to wait another 10 minutes. The doctor finally arrived, and he rushed in, sat down, didn't look at us in the eye or greet us, and proceeded to talk and go through paperwork that I had provided (copies of medical records) in a very rushed manner, as if he only were thinking of money, not the patient in front of him. I was appalled at his rudeness. So, I turned to him and said, "HELLO, DOCTOR THAKER". Then he gave me an irritated look and kept talking. He behaved as if he were barely tolerating his work with us. He also made no apology for making us wait two extra hours to see him. He stated that the initial PSA test given to my dad was a "waste of time", and then didn't offer any explanation. He was in a grumpy mood during the entire (short) exchange. Then he asked me what date my dad had started his medications. I told him to review the medical document copies that I had taken the time to provide, as I could not recall the date. With that, he stood up suddenly and marched out of the room. Then his office manager came in. She was gracious, but explained that somehow we were at fault for upsetting her boss. I told her we would be getting another opinion elsewhere, as his behavior was completely unprofessional. My father and I had wasted an entire afternoon for five minutes of basically no good information and haughty, abusive behavior from this doctor (driving time was extra because it was pouring rain all afternoon). Obviously Doctor Nimish Thaker believes he can abuse his patients with impunity like a demigod, but all I see is a callous, arrogant, unhappy man who will surely be more sad once the medical board in Sacramento receives my consumer complaint form, which I have compiled and am ready to post in the mail. He also won't like his review on Ripoff Reports, ratemds.com, my3cents.com, Complaints.com, Avvo.com, ComplaintsBoard.com, ConsumerAffairs.com, Measuredup.com, PissedConsumer.com, Trustlink.org, Yelp, or his report to the Better Business Bureau. Then when we finally got through we had to leave a message with a staff member because it was lunch time and no one was available; they never got back to us! If you really care about finding the right doctor, read this, at the very least, read the last paragraph. There isn't enough space for all the issues I have had with this office. First, their office staff refuses to leave voicemails. I took a day off work for a surgery, they had to reschedule me. I was NEVER notified. According to the office manager, Imelda, they could not leave a voice message due to HIPPA (not true!) telling me it needed to be rescheduled and "they tried calling yesterday" so I wasted a day off. The following week when I called to confirm my surgery date their "office is currently closed" system was still on despite the fact that their office had been open for 90 minutes! When I attempted to complain to the office manager, Imelda, in person she apologized and, unbelievably enough, asked for a good review online. I agreed, mistakes happen, my only stipulation for a good review was that she or her staff notify me of the results of my surgery in a timely manner without me having to call them, given it's a nightmare to get in contact with them. She said a few days after my follow up test, she would have my results. My follow up test was on June 15th, it's four weeks later... NO RESULTS! So I started calling them. I called again today, only to be given the run-around. Left messages, spoke with three different staff members who could not connect me to Imelda, nor give me my test results. I called a final time at 4:30pm and, lo and behold, their automated "office is closed" message came up. They close at 5pm. Peoples' hopes hang on medical results... "Congratulations, you're cancer free!" or "I'm so sorry, it does not look like you and your wife will be able to have a baby..." Either way, good or bad, elated or heartbroken, patients should not be left without an answer. They should not be ignored. Dr. Thaker, you may be a good doctor, I honestly have no idea what my surgery has yielded because your staff won't take my calls or call me back (please let that sink in...I STILL DON'T KNOW IF MY SURGERY WAS A SUCCESS!). The only way I can judge you as a professional is by the individuals with whom you surround yourself. Given this, I wouldn't trust your office with a pair of scissors, let alone life changing surgeries. If you give a damn about your practice, your name, your patients, find some competent staff! This facility is the worst run office that I have ever dealt with and I am 61. I would rather go to the DMV!! I have been going to Thaker Urology for 5 1/2 years because it is where my insurance sent me. The issues that I have encountered are too numerous to list. A few examples; I have waited over 3 hours for a scheduled appointment several times and they have canceled appointments that I had for 6 months on the day of the appointment (if I did that they would have charged me $45). My surgery date was re-scheduled 3 times. They NEVER call me back and their phone message is left on saying to call back during business hours even when it IS business hours. If you do get the answering machine, the box is always full and if by some miracle you do get through, you may be on hold for up to 20 minutes. Most of the staff is cold and borderline rude and treat patients like they are an inconvenience. Guess what, some of us have demanding jobs too. This doctor is absolutely brilliant. Sometimes the wait is long but it is so worth it. I would rather wait for excellent medical care then go to someone who doesn't care as much about his patient. Dr. Thaker is very passionate about his work and it shows with the care you receive. I took my daughter to several other doctors before we found Dr. Thaker. I had a medical procedure done by Dr. Thaker in his office. I was extremely impressed by his skills and his willingness to educate me prier to the procedure, how to prep for the procedure, and what to expect following. Dr. Thaker had a medical student with him, but he himself did the procedure. After the procedure and following the recovery there were no surprises! I can't even see the incision site three weeks following. The only down fall was that due to his high demand for emergency surgeries I needed to be rescheduled for each of my appointments, but being in the medical profession myself, I totally understood. Be patient, his care and knowledge and is well worth the wait!!! I will say, the staff is friendly when you are face to face with them, but there needs to be some better organization within the office staff. Hiring a consultant would be a great investment for the office to bring this group up to speed. read more
