I brought a satin dress I was going to wear to my sister in laws wedding to have the bust altered. What was supposed to be a simple stitch being done turned into an absolute nightmare. I brought the dress new, unworn with tags only to have it given back to me with stains they said were from the steamer. First of all, when working with delicate materials distilled water must be used if you are steaming and extra care and attention to ensure it dries without leaving stains. It's appalling that they think this is proper care for satin, let alone think it's proper to give formal wear back like this. The owner who was very dismissive and rude on the phone when I called to follow up said well had it dry cleaned for you and you won't pay for anything. 4 days later, my second attempt to pick up the dress and there was still stains. The man working (who I believe is the owner) said that when you touch this kind of material you see the marks. He was very confrontational and tried to tell me that I touched the dress and stained it which was not the case my hands were clean and dry and he was watching me check the dress. He tried to gaslight me into telling me water stains were normal but he would get the dress dry cleaned a second time and that it costed him $65 dollars the first time. I asked what happens if this happens again because clearly one time dry cleaning wasn't enough and the dress may be permanently ruined. He told me not to worry. He then tried to get me to pay for the alteration when I told him I shouldn't for this hassle. He then proceeded to threaten to undo the stitching they did on the dress. In that instance I asked for a discount. I went to finally pick up the dress 6 days later and I arrived over an hour before close and the lady working there was locking up. I asked if she was closed and she asked what I needed. I told her pick up and she let me into pick up the dress. So just a warning if you are going later in the day they do not honor their store hours. She made a point to complain about how "difficult" the material is to work with after two dry cleanings the stains were gone. If you can't work with satin, maybe you shouldn't accept the alteration or educate yourself on how to handle delicate fabrics. I wish I could give a -1 star review but unfortunately Google doesn't allow that. If you want someone you can trust with formal attire this is unfortunately not the place despite their high ratings. read more

I came in for a wedding dress fitting in June 2024. The tailor, without my permission, unnecessarily reached into my wedding dress bra cup and stroked his finger on my nipple about 3 times. Later in the appointment, he was obsessed with determining which of my breasts was slightly larger than the other, which was also completely unncessary. Along with very uncomfortable comments throughout the visit. I am left traumatized still, over a year later. read more

The service is terrible and overpriced. I was charged $152 dollars to hem a simple lined dress. It was returned to me wrinkled with no offer to try the dress on to make sure the alterations were ok. I would not recommend this business at all. read more

This was my second time visiting Nimble Needle Tailoring, and while my first experience was positive, this visit was horrible. My issue is not with his skill set, but with my overall experience. As a woman, I value safety and respect, and I did not feel either during this visit. The tailor's behavior was appalling. He called me "sexy," made inappropriate comments about my chest, and even touched my chest over my dress, saying I needed to cover it up. He continued to call me "sexy," asked about my relationship status, and, while his wife and kids were upstairs, asked to kiss me. When I declined, he persisted in asking why not. He also asked me to touch his pec, saying I had made him work hard on my dress. I did not address the issue immediately due to not processing what had happened til I left, the short notice and the fact that I had already paid. When I returned to pick up my dress, he claimed he was joking and when I asked to confirm if that was his wife and kids he said yes and blamed me for not saying something then when I had not processed what had happened til I left. I'm appalled that a business owner would conduct themselves in such a manner. I WILL NEVER RETURN DUE TO THE DISRESPECT AND THE EXTREME DISCOMFORT HE CAUSED ME DURING MY VISIT. I left really disappointed with the overall customer service provided by this establishment. I went in to have a zipper replaced on a bag and to hem some pants and left without doing either of those things. Firstly, the building is in someone's home; I had not expected this and was slightly wary and uncomfortable when entering the home. When it came to getting my pants hemmed, there was no obvious changing room where I could go to change that wasn't literally upstairs. I felt like I was intruding on someone's home and decided to forgo the service. I was just so uncomfortable that the thought of changing in this place was not an option. When it came to the bag, the man that reviewed my request simply said that the zipper would need replacing, and just flat out stated they did not have anything that would match. I was quite surprised when he then told me to head over to Bouclair and buy a gold zipper myself - I was hoping they would handle the replacement fully on their end. The lack of customer service was rather disappointing in my opinion. Overall I was left baffled at the high reviews, I can't for the life of me understand why this store is so highly rated. The home is cramped and a bit dirty, the customer service is abysmal, and the ambiance is just plain uncomfortable. I actually ended up going to a dry cleaner to get my zipper replaced and pants hemmed. Amazingly, they took it upon themselves to find a replacement that best suited my broken zipper giving me several options to choose from. The quality of the replacement is excellent and looks identical to my bag. This is the type of customer service I was expecting but never received here. Personally I won't come back as other places offer far better customer services for similar prices and are just heads and shoulders more professional than this place. read more

5 stars. I brought three suits to be tailored on a Saturday, and they were ready by Monday. Riber, the owner, returned life to my older suits that I was initially planning to give away because they no longer fit. Now, they're the best suits in my wardrobe. I'll definitely be bringing more suits here as they've earned my repeat business. Don't cut corners on tailoring--bring your suits here and invest in quality work.
