l took two formal dresses in to be altered. They were both too big and needed a lot done. l paid 600.00 up front for the alterations l returned 3 times for fitting. on my last fitting I noticed that one dress was not right. The dress was pinned and I was assured it would be fixed. . When I came in today the problem was still there. It looks like l have a large right boob and nothing on the left. The dress can not be worn it looks terrible. I was told that my last fitting was it. if I wanted anything else done it would cost more. lf the dress had been fixed correctly in the first place l would not need any other service. l will not be back and I will tell everyone I know to stay away from this business. Nila was paid services were not completed. 600.00 is a lot of money. I hope this review saves others from being ripped off. read more

Used to be a wonderful place. not anymore. brought in 3 coats for alterations and was shocked at how much the new prices were. first red flag. the new girl behind the desk is horrific and argumentative from the start. second red flag, finally, picked up the coats and they were not done yet they claimed they were and wanted to charge me. i showed them that the coats, after their so called alterations didn't fit, and their response was too bad... pay us anyway. they just lost 4 customers. go anywhere else read more

This place is so overpriced. I was shocked when she told me what she wanted to him up a pair of pants that were brand new. She wanted over double what I paid for the pants just to hem them up!!! a bit of advice. Look at the other reviews on yelp. This is definitely not a good place to go. You can find a much less expensive place with better quality work most likely. read more

Had just moved to Mount Dora and was starting a new job in 2 weeks. I had 2 suits that badly needed work. We had gone Eustis for dinner on a Friday and saw Nila's. I went the following Monday. I sat patiently waiting to be helped. Cute little shop. Kept thanking me for being patient. So appreciated that. When it was my turn could not have been more pleasant. Told them I started my new job on Tuesday following Monday and needed it Saturday. They came back with could you pick it up on Friday because of Veterans Day. You mean earlier? No one does earlier. Sure enough it was ready that Friday. Everything was perfectly done. Fixing a inside leg seam. Replacing a missing waist button on one and a clasp on the other pants. It also was a fair price for everything. I have pant legs to get done and will definitely bring them as well as my wife's clothes to them as well. read more

I brought a dressing for a wedding to this business to be taken in slightly and hemmed at the bottom. Upon arriving I brought the shoes with me that I'd be wearing to the wedding. Upon trying the dress on and stepping up on the platform so the dress could be pinned at the bottom, the woman immediately pinned where she thought the hem should be versus asking where I'd like it. I did not want the dress hemmed that high and told her that and pointed to where I wanted the dress to land. It would require a very minimal hem to be where I wanted it to. The woman proceeded to laugh at me and say "that's where I pinned it." Then said "I'll move there pin a little down." Okay, then by saying that, you did not have the pin where I asked. My dress has a piece of fabric that drapes around the shoulders, while wearing the dress the woman picked up the fabric and said "what's this" in a dismissive manner before dropping the fabric. Due to her inability to comprehend fashion of any kind, she made it seem like my dress was less than because the fabric to her didn't make sense. I returned to pick up my dress. I tried the dress on and low and behold, the hem at the bottom was not correct and was well above my shoe, which I had expressed I did NOT want. When I told her the hem was too high and reiterated that she had laughed at me when I expressed what I wanted , she glossed over it gas lit me by saying that is what we agreed upon and that she would get the fabric she'd cut to show me how much she'd taken off. After searching for the fabric, guess what she couldn't find it. I got some excuse about multiple bags and it being just thrown out, I'm honestly not even sure what she was telling me. The dress in question has pleating on it, upon arrival to pick up the dress she informed me she couldn't steam the seam because it would ruin the pleating so I'd need to take it to a dry cleaner. The dress had pleats when I dropped it off, it would have been a nice talking point that day so I'd be aware. Overall I'm displeased with my experience and a $200 dress is unable to be fixed appropriately. The woman offered no apology. It was the attitude as if I as the customer am dumb and she knows more as the seamstress. If you have anything of real value you need to get tailored I'd search around before settling on this business. Further, if you choose this business please be mindful that if you ask for something specific to be done there's a chance it may not be, especially if it doesn't look the way this business seems it should. read more

Stay away from this business! My wife took a house coat to them for altering sleeve length. When returned, ose of the sleeves is longer by 5/8 of an inch than the other one. Refused correction unless we agree to be charged again! Terrible place to do business with! read more

I had a simple hemming job that I needed to have done in a couple of days. Most other tailors (most associated with dry cleaners) quoted 10 days to 2 weeks to do the job. Nila did the job over the weekend in 3 days at no extra charge. They were very prompt and efficient with an excellent work product, at a very reasonable price. I would have paid double to get the pants done in the time frame I needed.
