I have been a patient for a long time, however they have turned into a corporation and it doesn't have the same feel any longer. Noel the front desk girl was amazing, and now Sarah isn't there either. They both were my go to. I've received these online notifications when I've already paid. I call and the person who answers now, isn't the same. I'm asked to move my appointments, come in early or later. I feel it's very inconsiderate when I plan things. Amazing dental office!!! Ms McKayla and Dr Nikki fixed a hole in my tooth that had been there for over 3 years! She took special care to explain what was going to happen and why it needed to be done from the radiographs and the different drills used and how long I would expect to be numb. I took my 14 year old daughter there for a teeth cleaning and checkup. Afterwards they informed me she had 12 cavities and they would have to fill them in multiple sessions and it would be several thousand dollars even with the insurance. My daughter cried for 2 hours after we left just at the prospect of all these dental visits and also because the implication that her teeth were in such terrible condition. I decided to get a second opinion just because this was such a awful assessment of her teeth. I went to another dentist and they found absolutely 0 cavities not one. I was beyond furious at their attempt to put a child thru 12 fillings they didn't need. This was over a year ago and today my daughter teeth are perfect and she has not had 1 filling. read more

So glad I found this place on yelp! 5 stars all the way! I upgraded my dental plan recently and was looking for a high quality dentist. Dr. Nikki's practice is down the street from my house so I was really hopeful that this would turn out well. Prior to that, I had multiple Sacramento area dentists and no luck in finding a good one. Having just relocated from the Bay Area, it was disappointing that it took so long to find a great dentist up here! Everything about this place is perfect, so far: the receptionists are friendly and let you keep the pens (mostly because of the pandemic but I have a nice collection of high quality pens, even one of my friends is jealous - I said, get an appointment and you can have a pen, lol). The dental assistant (Kiko? Not sure if I spelled her name right) is very personable and made me feel at ease. You can tell that "leadership starts at the top" because the moment Dr. Nikki came in to greet me, you could feel the energy was very positive and optimistic. She did a very thorough exam and pointed out what needed to be done. When conducting restorative work, she narrated everything she was doing and explained why, which really helped me feel calm. In addition, while small talking with the dental assistant, she would pause mid story to fill in details for me - not that I was a part of the conversation - but how refreshing to have a dentist that does that versus the dentists I've had where the assistant and dentist stare at you in silence or where they engage in a political conversation as if you're not in the room. Anyway, even when I was getting shots to numb my mouth, the pain and discomfort was very minimal. The hygienist was awesome, too: narrating what she was getting ready to do, empathetic, and personable. For every visit, they take your blood pressure, temperature, and make you rinse your mouth with two different mouth washes for at least a minute. Talk about taking hygiene seriously! This is one of those practices where everyone knows your name when you walk into the door, you're seen on time, and even with just three visits, I feel very comfortable. That speaks a lot about the practice of this office and the "good reviews" they received. Below is my original review. I was scheduled to see Nikki Chauhan as a new patient within days upon my call. Nikki Chauhan found a fracture on one tooth and a cavity on another on the upper left. I told her that I also had pain on my upper right. She did not want to look at it during the appointment and said we should focus on the left side first. She sent me away and referred me to see an endodontist. After I was rushed out, I called back to the office to inquire when I could come back for the cavity treatment and to take care of the pain on the upper right. The office said they were completely booked for the next few months and they won't be able to treat me. I then asked if they were unable to provide treatment, why did they agree to see me as a new patient in the first place? The receptionist said "Good question. I do not know. We bring you in as an emergency because you have pain. But we are completely booked for the next few months. We are hoping your endodontist can refer you to a general dentistry to get treatment." I do not know if they are indeed fully booked or Nikki Chauhan does not want me as her patient due to the multiple issues of my teeth. In either case, this is not an honest practice. If they have no time to provide any treatment, they should not take a new patient. If Nikki Chauhan feels incompetent in handling my case, she should have the decency to tell me right after the exam. If I did not call back to the office, I would have waited for weeks only to find that they would not treat me. By the way, this office is not as friendly as other viewers said. I have seen my fair share of arrogant doctors. I am ok with them because I am not easily offended. Their attitude is a reflection of their true self. I do not care as long as they do their job. But Nikki Chauhan is of another level. She has the attitude like she is some kind of goddess who graces her patients with her presence. I think she probably had decided not to take me as her patient during the exam and thus did not bother to be polite. I put up with her attitude during the exam because her office is close to my house and I was impressed by the good reviews. Take your chance at this dental office if you have extra time and money to spare. Otherwise, go somewhere else. read more

Is it possible to enjoy going to the dentist? Yes! You walk in the door and it doesn't smell like a dental office- they have relaxing lighting and candles, lots of good reading material (not that there's time to read any of it- short wait!), Wifi, and awesome music. The technicians do a thorough job on your teeth and they're always happy and laughing. They have this cool camera and X-ray equipment so you can see your teeth on a computer. Very hi-tech. They even gave me a hot lavender towel when they were done! The dentist is wise and caring. She steered me in the right direction to see specialists for my bite and bone loss. I'm so glad she wants to fix my teeth the right way so they'll last forever, not the quick way that will break in a year. It has been years since I needed any dental work aside from routine cleanings/exams and now needed a crown because I had pain due to a cracked tooth. I was unaware of why I had a cracked tooth (since I feel I take good care of my teeth) but Dr Chauhan took the time to explain the mechanics of my bite in detail. She is very knowledgeable in her field and is genuine, kind, and compassionate. I was so nervous to have my crown done but she was amazing and made me feel comfortable as can be along with her wonderful assistant Christie. Not to mention the rest of the staff, always cheerful and helpful. At 70 years old I have been on of the most dentistry adverse people on the planet. Back in the day my old family dentist solved much of the problem with liberal use of laughing gas for even tooth cleaning. I suspect it was as much for his benefit than mine. After he retired (and laughing gas went out of vogue) I switched to a fine practice near where we live in mid town Sacramento. At that time Dr. Chauhan provided me care in such a caring way that it was okay. When she left to open her own practice I did not want to drive the extra distance to the South area. However last year I rethought that decision and am so glad I did. I needed to have a crown replaced and some work on the underlying root. Her gentle care and that of her staff almost had me looking forward to going. I did not even take my usual relaxing dose of Xanax before my next visit. I love how welcoming and homey it feels when you walk into the dentist's office, because let's be honest here, the dentist's office is not my first choice of where to be on any given day.
