The building is as big as a barn, but it's dark brown facade rendered it invisible to my mind as I buzzed up and down the Kenai Spur Hwy on other errands and tasks. I like this variety and hardware store. I especially like that it sells Hallmark Cards and Hallmark Christmas ornaments ... I like buying a distinctive Hallmark Christmas tree ornament each year. I can't say much more since I have yet to explore every corner and floor level of this store.

I went there looking to rent cross country skating skis and was very well taken care of. The shop had a surprisingly good selection of all manner of outdoor gear. Their ski selection was good and the help (and great deal I got for a weekly rental) was excellent. I wanted to give them a thumbs up, because it was a great experience.

Hardboard is a dark brown and either solid or with holes in it commonly called peg board and used with various pins to hang tools or any object you wish to hang in plain view. I did not find what I needed at my normal GoTo big all purpose home supply. They closed the SBS in Eagle River during COVID and never reopened. It has been a great loss to our area. Their is on several miles away in Anchorage or in Wasilla. We were in Wasilla to pick up a large used double order item my wife bought on Market Place online. We passed the Wasilla SBS on our way to pick up the item. On our return we stopped at SBS to see if they had the hardboard. They did and at a considerable savings to what I was almost going to buy because I couldn't find the 4 x 8 sheet of hardboard. We were very pleased and I told them I miss them dearly in Eagle River. They were able to identify exactly what I needed from my vague description of what I remembered the board to be as I did above and what I was going to do with it. They were helpful and efficient. Escorted us into the employees only warehouse to see the two choices they had so I could select just what I needed after comparing them. That is excellent service for a customer that is looking for one item of very little value overall to their profit margins. SBS is an excellent source of building materials, home appliances and hardware. I have been a customer for over 50 years. Thank you

I bought over a thousand square foot of trafficmaster vinyl plank flooring from Home Depot 3 years…read morelater the flooring started falling apart so I went into the store with my receipt to start a warranty claim I was instructed by the flooring Department to contact the manufacturer and I was supplied with a phone number. Customer service from the trafficmaster manufacturer told me I have to go through home depot. I go back to the store and again I was told by the flooring manager that I must go through the manufacturer it was good calling the manufacturer again I was told since I'm getting the runaround that the manufacturer would help me I complied in emailed the photographs of the problem description of the problem and the receipt of my initial purchase 3 weeks later I had not heard anything so I contacted the manufacturer by email quickly I got a response saying I must go through Home Depot I've now responded saying this the third time I've spoke to you and I've been to Home Depot twice I feel like I'm getting the runaround and my floors becoming quite dangerous as far as tripping and I'm worried somebody's going to get hurt all I want is this product that is warranty for 30 years to be warranted and fixed like it should have been in the first place. I'm very happy with the manufacturer that Home Depot has chosen to sell their product and the fact that nobody including Home Depot is helping me correct this problem. I strongly suggest going somewhere else for your flooring and do not use trafficmaster for any reason it is a inferior low-grade product

In the past, several years ago…read moreor a few, their delivery guys apparently dragged my washer snd dryer up my wooden front steps, and broke them significantly. I complained to the store and I was totally given the runaround. It was up to me in the end to hire and pay someone to rebuild some of my stairs. The delivery people could have lifted the appliance better or taken another route, but they didn't. I thought they seemed lazy or unprofessional, as well as the Home Depot manager who gave me no help whatsoever. Last month I ordered a bathroom vanity. This is a second case where Home Depot failed me. I am not a builder, I ordered online an item that was the wrong size for my space, and within an hour or two I realized my error and I called Home Depot in Kenai, Alaska, and I was told I could not cancel my order, and she said it had to go to the vendor first. She said it would take only two days to sort out. She told me she would help me every step of the way, and that was a big lie. I never spoke to her again. I tried but she was never there again each time I called and asked for her. I called Home Depot many times in the first two weeks, and they rarely answer the phone or speak to anyone and they aren't very polite. After calling dozens of times with no success, I was finally told I needed to talk only to corporate office regarding any online purchases! After waiting almost a month with no resolution, I went ahead and ordered the right size from them. However, the very next day the charge for the item I had been trying in vain to cancel since I had first ordered it, it was charged to me. Corporate told me I had to only talk to them in the future and that the branch has given me wrong information! Not only that she told me they had probably told me wrong on purpose! it took about five weeks and countless calls but I finally got my refund. No one should have to go through what I did! The website online does not clearly direct consumers to speak only to corporate. They should! They misinformed me at the store and wasted my time, and as of now, I am not happy, although some in corporate tried to assist me and at long last I did get the refund on the return for the item that I never wanted in the first place, only because it was the wrong dimensions for me. So it turned out all right but I had to call dozens and dozens of times, worry, be lied to, and have my time taken up by all this nonsense, and that isn't fair! Home Depot makes things hard!

I came here to buy groceries earlier in the week and made regular stops for coffee at the Starbucks inside of here. FredMeyer also sells supplies. I was able to pick up some fishing boxes to ship the fish that I caught home. FredMeyer stores operate in northwestern United States. This location in Soldotna is open everyday 6 AM - 11 PM. They have a pharmacy and a fuel center. They also offer grocery pickup for online shoppers.
