Absolute worst experience and will never go back!…read more My daughter and I both had smoothies. My daughter moved her mask down to take a drink. I asked her a question and just then an employee Erica yelled at her to put her mask back on. I was less than a foot away from my child and she had her mask down for less than 30 seconds. We also were the only ones in the store at the time. When checking out, I addressed my issue with how the matter was handled with Erica. She first stated that food and drink was not allowed in the store. No where is that posted. She said she's asked her manager for signs and none have been provided. The customers are not required to know a store policy when it's never been posted. Further, I addressed the manner in which my daughter was approached. There was never an apology. Instead, Erica gave the impression that she'd rather not be there. I own three businesses and would never allow my employees to treat a customer so poorly. If you don't like your job, find a different one! I'll never go to this hot topic again. Good thing the Cedar Rapids store is still open.

I did notice that their prices have increased quite a bit (at least on furniture and some of the houseware items I looked at). I live in Bettendorf, but am in Iowa City frequently as my wife and I have 3 daughters living there. Two daughters live very close to this hardware store and I was string-trimming at one of their houses, and I flung a rock into my car's driver side window and it shattered. I needed to drive the home on I80 but wanted some clear plastic on the window if possible. Emily gave me some used plastic from some inventory they had unloaded, and I bought some duct tape. As I went to the car I realized I would need scissors and told her I might be back if I can't get hold of the other daughter and her husband who live close. Daughter didn't answer so as I was about to call a different daughter and her husband Emily appeared and volunteered to help. She was very patient and had some great ideas like where we applied the tape to keep it off the paint. It was a loud ride home but I made it safely and Emily's great work held! This morning I got the window replaced and will not need to borrow or rent a car to drive to Chicago for a ballgame tomorrow. I probably could have made it home fine with no plastic, but it was nice to have, and I wasn't sure how long until I could get the window replaced nor how soon it was supposed to rain. I always say the world needs more kindness, and thank you to Emily for her great customer service from a business perspective, and for what I consider just simple kindness - another KO (Kindness Opportunity) fulfilled. Thanks again to Emily and Lenoch & Cilek Ace!

I especially love Eddie Bauer's lifetime warranty on things like winter jackets - I have one of their winter storm downs that I really put to the test as I spend a LOT of time outside in the winter. With such a large-ticket item and with something as delicate as a down jacket, it's nice to know that I can get a replacement as the down becomes less effective or depleted.

I followed all wash instructions, and was very gentle with the coat. I took it back to the store and explained it what happened. After a lot of Persistence, they told me they would replace the jacket with the same one. A couple weeks ago, I found myself in a similar situation. I went to buckle my seatbelt and caught a small piece of fabric on the buckle and the jacket ripped again. I went back to Eddie Bauer and explained what happened and they said they couldn't do anything. I understand misuse, but if the item rips on the rounded part of a seat belt, it seems like the material is too delicate for the price I paid. I am sad to say that I will not buy future products from them.
