Nice bookstore with and large selection of books. You can find wherever you need (magazines,…read morenewspapers, comics, art books, travel guides, dvd's, music, and a hug etc..) On Saturdays you can have a nice cup of coffee and a portion of cake while you listen someone playing the piano in the cafeteria! Love it!

I absolutely love this place. It's a really huge place, with tons of books to choose from, no…read morematter your age, including a section for other languages (such as English, Dutch, and Spanish, for example). The staff is very knowledgeable and some obviously adore books as well, so they'll be more than willing to recommend you book depending on your tastes and/or what you're looking for. They also have a whole mini-cafe in the middle of the store, with a grand piano to boot (though I wish they'd have someone to play it more regularly, or perhaps have one of those pianos that plays on its own!). The only thing I have to say against it is how cramped up the entrance is--you have to plaster yourself to the side to let someone else go by, and that while making sure you don't inadvertently make a pile of books fall to the floor (because they're everywhere!). In any case, this is a dangerous store for me to wander into--I could spend my day there, and I'm always bound to leave with more books than I'd originally intended to buy!

Went to Garage a Manger and seeing that Pele-Mele was attached, we decided to check it out as well…read more This place is awesome to find secondhand books, CDs, DVDs, records, etc. They also have a wide selection of books in various languages (most are in French throughout the store), including English, Dutch, Spanish, Polish, German, Italian...you can find a good number of children's books. At least for the foreign languages, the books are a bit expensive (especially the children's books). Nice place to find your next book to read!

Fun place to visit. too bad the manager (one of the guys who buys back dvds, books, etc.) is so…read morerude and insulting to customers. if you buy dvds there planning to resell them after viewing them one time be prepared to be refused with the excuse that they are scratched, too outdated, or that you couldn't have purchased them recently from their store...when none of the above are true.

Brusel is located right in the heart of the city along with a ton of other shops, but this one....this one hit different. I went into probably five or six different comic book shops in Brussels and this one was my absolute favourite. On the lower level of the shop you have all of the comic trades, the manga, and a bunch of random other things like Smurfs figures and Studio Ghibli stuff along with the cash register to pay. Upstairs is a random shrine to Harry Potter with a ton of his merchandise and even a hanging display of owls, Harry Potter fan or not, it's very very cool. Overall, Brusel is my favourite comic store in the city and the store we each picked up four comics to bring home with us. This store should be on any comic lovers list of places to stop!

This is the comic book shop without the clutter and far more streamlined. Was walking past and had…read moreseen Brusel's a few times prior, their storefront semi-piquing my interest but never enough for me to enter. This time around I walked by and caught a glimpse of a gorgeous framed Blacksad poster/picture and was like holy crap... I think I can finally buy that book. Sure enough they had everything plus an art book. It did cross my mind to just go buy it on Amazon, but it was just so in the moment. Long story short, I splurged a little. This place really will ruin your wallet. I almost ended up buying even more books and a few adorable French zines. Languages for the books vary from French, Flemish to English and a small section in Japanese. Their manga section was also really fun and I love the European publication style to their Manga which is almost 1:1 to Japanese print in size and feel unlike American publications. Almost nabbed a few of those too... They also have an upstairs and downstairs filled with framed artwork which I assume are actual originals, but if not, my mistake. They all looked very nice and well displayed. They require you to leave your bag at the front if you are to look at them and enforce no photo policy of the artwork, since I was semi in a rush, I opted to not look at gorgeous art for hours... sigh. Brusel's also packs lots of other fandom items from Harry Potter, Batman, etc.. the like. Things like wands and themed chest boards. Seriously would have killed my entire wallet here... The damage was only one very expensive and gorgeous graphic novel.

This is more of a 3.5 star, but I'm being nice. :) Stationary store that has more pens and fullscap…read morebooks than anything, with some reading material, wonderboxes, and craft stuff for kids mostly. A few things like paperclips and sticky notes can be found at the back. I went in on a whim, surprised at how big and busy it was... Long lineups here! Bought a discounted pen set and one was broken, so I exchanged it for another. One of the pens was a fountain and didn't have ink (no way for me to know that) so they showed me how to use it for ink wells (really? Cool) as well as some ink cartridges. The staff member made a deal about erasable ink, no idea why, and I walked out with some fun purple and teal ink cartridges for €1.45/6 cartridges, and two working pens. Yay! The staff are a bit slow here and the waits long for help, but it's a fantastic location, and has a huge amount of stock.
