I was dragging my clothes back from the Wash Club when I walked past not one, but two comic book stores. Mind you, when I use the word comic book store in the context of Bruxelles, it tends to be a lot more that your typical Australian comic book store that tends to be full of superhero comes. What caught my attention was the number of Belgium (or French) comic books that were in the windows. Being a long time Tintin and Asterix fan I made the point of coming in here the next morning, particularly since they also had a large number of interesting posters that also caught my eye. So, looking around I have to admit that I was suitably impressed, particularly since I didn't actually see any part of the shop set up for your typical American comics - they seemed to be mostly French with a few English labels, such as Watchmen, thrown in for good measure. It is certainly worth another look, particularly if you prefer more independent labels. read more
