We bought this house from a brilliant mechanical engineer who seemed to pride himself on being able to figure out how to do anything. We've had to repair and replace a few things here and there that were outside his skill set. We can now add a light fixture to that list. We had a dimmer switch that didn't always work--it was just getting old. The cover plate for it needed to be custom-cut to fit with the wainscoting under it, because the previous owner set the wainscoting high enough to overlap. At some point we needed to replace that cover plate and hadn't gotten around to it. And the light fixture over our kitchen island stopped working, but just for one of three bulbs. I got multiple bids for all this work, and Good Sense was by far the easiest to work with. Their office manager is friendly and easy to talk to, and made it a no-stress process to discuss their rates and all the info they needed. Every other company either took forever to get back to me, were less pleasant to deal with, or both. Good Sense doesn't have as many open appointments as other companies, which is a good sign. They did have a cancellation so I was able to get the work done early, which is awesome. The guys showed up right on time, were pleasant and easy to talk to, got right to work, and didn't need any extra guidance once they started. Exactly what you hope for. They found some amateur mistakes in the wiring, and fixed those. They had parts in the truck with them for what needed replacing, and took care of everything in about an hour. The bill showed up via email and text this morning, and I was able to pay online, which I very much appreciate. Their estimate lined up with what they charged. Much as I would prefer never to have to pay for repairs of any kind, because having a perfect house that never breaks would be a joy, that's not how the world works. Finding nice folks who care, communicate well, do the work correctly, and charge a fair price is the next-best thing to owning an unbreakable house. These folks fit the bill. I'm happy I found them.

They showed up right on time and got right to work. They did everything quickly and pleasantly and exactly as asked; they even figured out stuff that I wouldn't have been able to explain--even though all the equipment was already here, it wasn't stuff they sold. Because the cost was likely to be high, I emailed Daniel to ask for the range of the cost. He then offered to come to my house to give me a free estimate. If you have ever called any electricians, you should know most electricians bill based on trip charge (basic fee) plus labor time and material. Even they do nothing, they still charge for just showing up at the door. I was very happy that Daniel was willing to come out to give me a free estimate. This just makes him distinguishable from other electricians. He gave me a very detailed estimate. The price was reasonable, so I accepted it. Later I told him that I might need to replace an indoor outlet as it's loose. He offered to do it for free! What a wonderful customer service! Moses was the one who actually showed up to do the work. He's very polite and friendly. He explained to me his work. He was very patient with me when I didn't understand his explanation. He was great to work with. He also cleaned up after his work. I had previously looked into getting some fans installed in two bathrooms and after looking up 3 companies for quotes I had reached out to them to come by. They were last to visit and after the gentleman show up and stuck his in both bathrooms, he gave me a quote over a $1,000 from the second highest quote! I said thanks but no thanks and instead of leaving, he says let me call my boss and see if he wants to do something about the price. The guy doesn't answer! Now I'm trying not to laugh. He goes well let me call the "big" boss. So this guy answer and the gentleman is telling him that the quote is way too high. Big boss is kind of just stuttering before finding the words he wants to say "well for our price you get the best customer service imagined over a mediocre job performance." If that was your selling point when the customer service you already provided is a D- at best, you're not the company for me. The "mediocre option" we went with were just fine.
