This review does not reflect on Dr. Kish at all. Dr. Kish is great. The employees that are "in charge" of the glasses section need to be REPLACED!!!!! They are very young and inexperienced. They ordered my glasses to THEIR specifications and NEVER confirmed with me what they were ordering. I have been wearing glasses since I was in 3rd grade! These little inexperienced people ordered me COMPUTER glasses!!! I wear my glasses ALL THE TIME! They were trying to put the blame on Dr. Kish. I told them it was THEIR error and they needed to make it right. THEY DID NOT!!! I had to pay an extra $178 to change the glasses. I told them to refund me all of what I paid for the glasses and keep them so I could go somewhere else. I was told I could not get a refund because the glasses were made special for me. I told them they were not made for me because it isn't what should have been ordered and was not known to me they were ordering computer glasses. I had friends and family who were going to go. They will see Dr. Kish, but will not get eye glasses there because of the inexperienced employees who are there now. I have been an RN twice as long as they have been alive. I was also told I was wearing my glasses wrong which was a bad comment made on that girl's part. I am very disappointed in these employees and their excuses and them blaming Dr. Kish. read more

We love Dr Kish, she is Amazing! so, kind. Dr Kish, has been our eye dr for years. I'm sadden by the RUDE OFFICE STAFF! on our visit yesterday. I think they lack billing or insurance billing had no idea about Insurance Coverage maybe to lazy to file. Even, the Optical Lady was very RUDE as well. Both, staff were talking, down to my sister. I see a review on here saying Dr. Kish is unprofessional because she curses (like literally every other human) and thought it was funny lol. Personally, I loved my experience with Dr. Kish and her office. She's relatable, straight to the point, and I can tell she's very passionate about her work which is hard to find among medical professionals these days. Her staff were very helpful and enthusiastic. Her dad took off work early to make sure to take her, that way her little brother didn't have to be stuck In an eye doctor office for who knows how long.... Week before when scheduled the doctor was sick. week before that we had to reschedule for our on personal reasons... today comes and my daughters dad takes her in and they turn them away!!!!! The Yelp reviews made me a little nervous, but glad I went out on a limb with Kish. I love her personality and that she is a down to earth doctor. Glad to know there are still some of those out there. Front desk staff could use a happy pill, but nothing i couldn't move past or out of the ordinary when it comes to medical receptionist. Really appreciated Dr Kish taking time after the exam to go over the images of my eyes and explaining how other medical/environmental factors affect eye health. This doctor really goes the extra mile to take a look at the actual health of your eye. She has the latest and greatest testing machines that I haven't seen at any other place. They have always been friendly and helpful towards me and anyone I have sent them. read more

My Husband gets his eyes checked here so made an appointment for my daughter... she hasn't had her exam yet but was not impressed with the receptionist that was scheduling... when I asked how much the exam would be and she told me I said that's a lot more than what we had to pay in California with the same insurance company her response was " well this isn't California" well duh... I just want to know why it cost more for one person to go than what we paid for a family of 4. Seems high. Also when asking about if we can just get the paper prescription and shop around for better priced contacts she kept beating around the bush I had to ask a few times if we had to buy from them or if we could get our own. Dr Kish is extremely thorough and personable. She has a really nice approach towards her job. She also makes sure that I have a complete understanding of my options. I wish I could give this place a 1/2 star. This place is terrible. Let's start from the beginning. I had recently gotten my eye insurance and figured I had better find a Eye Doctor and get some contacts(It's honestly because I was getting tired of watching 3D movies with glasses, ha. Plus contacts are generally just nice to have). I figured this place would be the best because I had called and they told me it was walk-in and no wait. I took my Brother along as well giving them 2 new clients. For "no wait" we still had to wait a while but were greeted nicely and I was happy with the service. Both of our exams were done and he went to look at glasses(all very over-priced) and I went to talk about what kind of contacts I'd like. Then the crap started to begin. First off I was give a trial pair of a monthly contact. I was told that It would be covered by my insurance and to come back if I like them and sign a paper or come back if they didn't work and they'd put me in something else. We'll, the contacts didn't work for me. My eyes puffed up bad and they were horribly itchy. I went back and they were nice and put my in a 1 a day that I was told would be covered by my insurance. I loved them! They were so great! I called to tell them I liked them and asked them what to do next and they told me to come in. I came back in(keep in mind I live waaayy on the other side of Norman) and I was told I would have to pay a extra 90+ dollars. I was lied to. I was pretty upset and was sure enough to tell them that because I was indeed lied to about them being covered by insurance. Then things really took a turn for the worse. They were very rude about it and told me I could get a cheaper version and this time I could just call if they worked. They were okay and I was tired of going back and forth and wasting all the gas, plus I was told that they're cheap enough that I can get a 6 month supply free with insurance. When I got home I realized all the trials were over 2 years expired. I called and the receptionist said "Uhhh, that doesn't matter." so I literally sucked it up and stuck these old contacts in my eyes. I called them and told them to order them for me so they "did". 3 weeks go by...Nothing. I called and told them "I ordered contacts 3 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything" This time the lady was VERY belligerent and said "Uhm, did you get a call?" and I said "no..." then said said "That means they're not ready then" I asked her if they were even actually ordered and guess what, no they weren't. She told me she would place the order for a one month supply because that's all my insurance would cover. I was pissed because I was yet AGAIN lied to but I just said, sure whatever. By this time I was so tired of dealing with these guys. A month later, I still have no contacts, I haven't gotten a call and I'm sure they were never actually ordered. I am putting off calling them because I am so worn out and tired of talking to them. Please guys, don't go here. Go somewhere else there are many, many other options in Norman that are walk in. read more

I have used her for the past two years for my terrible eyes. My insurance is covered here, and I think this is the only local place that it is covered. I have been to her establishment (in Sooner Fashion Mall) about 6 times in the last two years and have only seen her once. There is always some other doctor on staff. Maybe, it is my weird hours that I've kept in the past. I have been slightly disappointed with the staff and the lack of customer service. I watched 3 of the ladies behind the desk fumble around for my file while eating lunch. I, however, am not displeased with Dr. Kish. I've gotten my prescriptions for new glasses (stylish ones!) and my contacts as expected. I would've given her four stars had she been in the office more. (Again, maybe it was the fact that I only scheduled on Sundays) I don't know. But this is where I go to get my eyes fixed. read more

I am very disappointed in my recent visit for my teenage children. I have seen Dr. Kish for years and like her very much. My issue is the front desk staff being unprofessional. It is pretty bad when your 15 year old child is more mature than the employees, and your child points out how unprofessional they staff are acting in front of customers. It was a party behind the desk the entire time we were in the waiting room. I then received an unexpected bill and called for explanation of the charges. I can accept that my insurance didn't pay and I know owe the amount. I CANNOT accept the unprofessionalism, regarding the responses I received when asking questions. Not to mention the conversations loud enough in the background to be overheard that they were seriously planning a party with invitations. The woman who answered the phone last, did not even bother to give the courtesy of a full sentence much less who she was when I am expected to give my credit card number over the phone. I am very angry at the situation and honestly don't know if I will even bother to go back. If you are employed in a customer service position, you should be trained to handle your job and speak intelligently on the phone. Out of respect for Dr. Kish, I would have like to address this with her ... however, her front desk employees did not want allow me this privilege. When asked if I could speak with Dr. Kish I was told I could complete a survey, where would I like it sent. The more I think about it, the more angry I get!! I suggest everyone stay away from this organization and take your time and money where it will be appreciated. If Dr. Kish is reading this I strongly suggest setting up a break room for personal conversations and keep the front desk professional. read more

Dr. Kish is a wonderful and thorough doctor. I have a substantially bad astigmatism and each time I've been scheduled in her office I have been seen by her. She is a no-nonsense provider and if you ask her opinion you will get it with the nicest delivery. I highly recommend her to anyone. read more

Scheduled me last minute, then would not see me because I was 15 minutes late. Super unfriendly about it.

When sitting inside the office for 40min waiting to be seen, I heard the girls calling someone about undercharging someone for whatever it was by $80. I thought nothing of it, but now I'm charged $78 extra dollars for an optional service that I had no knowledge of, or accepting. The receipt you get is just total cost nothing to show what your charged for. Called them and I kind of got an attitude from the front desk even tho I was polite on the phone call, it's apparently a mandatory service only that office forces, and met life doesn't cover, Nice doctor but shady business. read more

I recently started on medication which requires me to have my eyes checked every six months. I was unhappy with my current optometrist office, and was told about this office. From the moment I walked in I felt like family! Every person I encountered from check in to check out was friendly, professional, and efficient. My wait time was really nonexistent. Dr Kish is so funny, and down to earth. She took the time to explain the reasons for the checkup and why it was so important on this medication. She and her staff have my appreciation and my business. I read some of the other reviews, and all I can say is, the front desk staff must have changed, because the ones there on my visit were great! Preliminary procedures were done within minutes of my appt time. From there, I was seated in a hallway near the back door with 5 other people. There was a tv on the wall that had a political ad running on a loop. I felt I was a captive audience being taken advantage of. Don't go to the eye dr to hear her political views. My daughter went to this eye clinic, the office states she was not seen by Dr Kish but an associate, whomever saw her made my daughter feel very pressured and uncomfortable, my daughter did not feel comfortable going back so I also felt she should not go, she was also charged for a service our previous eye doctor did not charge and I found out through our insurance and our doctor it was also an invalid charge. We attempted to basically fill the contact prescription with our other provider and was threatened by Dr Kish's office manager and we were basically told if we did not get our contacts through their office they would file for the materials through their office, leaving us to have to pay out of pocket for my daughters contacts even though our insurance pays the equivalent of 4 boxes. I have nothing to say about Dr Kish herself, except for the fact she must not want return clients if she keeps this woman on staff!!! read more

I first started seeing Dr Kish 16 years ago. She was able to quickly figure out what my vision needs are and start me down the path to clear vision. A few years later I moved to Dallas. The 2 different eye doctors I saw in Dallas could not figure out what was wrong with my vision and kept prescribing me the wrong strength and lens type, even though I told them what I had been using for years and what my issues were. I found myself driving back to OK just to be treated by Dr Kish. A few years later I moved to Austin and then to Los Angeles and I had experiences similar what I found in Dallas. Dr. Kish is the best, hands down. Now that I am back in Oklahoma I have received the same superb service and care that I received when I first started seeing her years ago. She takes the time to assess your personal needs and find what will work for your unique situation. My entire family goes to see her and I would recommend her to everyone I know. Even now, I live in NW OKC and it is worth the drive down to Norman. read more

If I could put a negative I would. This is by far the worst customer service experience in my entire life. First of all the front office staff is very immature and completely unprofessional. Secondly, it took nearly 2 hours for a scheduled appointment. And then they didn't tell me that the contact fitting was not covered by my insurance and are now holding my prescription hostage until I pay them $137 for the exam. Not only that but they humiliated me by making me take the contacts out that they made me wait half an hour for in front of a full office. I will never go back to Dr Kish. I would never recommend her. I was charged for a glasses and contact exam and never received either. She told me with no exam that my eyes looked irritated. I told her yah, I'be been wearing contacts for 32 years, they are usually red and sore. She then told me I had dry eye and that it would be a waste of time to do an exam until I saw Dr. Powell and got on Restaysis. But then she charged my insurance for an exam. Dr Powell said there was nothing wrong with my eyes. I went back to Dr. Kish asked if I could be examined now Dr. Powell said there was nothing wrong with my eyes. She still did not give me an exam. She told me she wanted me to try a different type of contact and had me put them in. They were the same strength of my last exam two years early. Then told me to come back in a week. I was concerned about not getting an exam so I came back the following day and beg for an exam. This did not please her. She sat me at the machine, set it for my last prescription told me to read the chart and said, "See I told you you were fine" She did not ask me if one strength stronger or weaker was better. She did not even check for presbyopia even though I am 48 years old. I pushed her about the matter and she changed the setting one slot stronger from a -1.50 to a - 1.75 and said, " that's clearer for you isn't it?" and I said, "Oh yes, that is clearer". And she said, "Well, I'm not giving it to you." You have Presbyopia and therefore I am not going to give you clear distant vision because your near vision would be more distorted." She then put a reading card in put of me and said, "See it's fuzzy.. See, I am right... I know what I am doing". So I asked her if I could please try Focus Dailies Progressive contact lens (a daily contact designed for people with Presbyopia). She insisted strongly that there is no such lens, there is no daily contact with bifocal. I told her I was on the Focus website that morning looking for rebates and saw that there was. She became more irritated with me and insisted that there is no such lens. I decided not to make her mad and just asked if maybe I could try a regular contact lens with a bifocal. She became firmer and said there was no such lens. I left like a puppy with it's tail between it's legs. The following business day I printed up the information from the Focus website about the lens and took it to her office and asked the receptionist to please show her and ask her if I could please have a lens ordered for me. He showed her and then came back to me and grimaced and said she said she will not order anything for me. He mad it clear that I ticked her off and wasn't going to get helped. I ask him, "Person to person I understand their is a stubborn issue going on, but is there anyway I can convince her to help me?" He grimaced and shook his head slowly, looking down. Then quietly suggested I go to another doctor to get help. I was never confrontational, or aggressive. Every question I asked, was asked sincerely and respectfully. I did everything that was requested of me. I backed down when I felt that things weren't going smoothly and I was creating tension. There was nothing I could have done to convince her to give me an exam, or to allow me to try a contact lens that would might help me to see clearer both near and far. She didn't care about me the patient. 1: I paid her over $100 for a contact lens and glasses exam and never really was examined. Got a lot of attitude, but no exam. 2: She had no interest in helping me to see clearly near or far. Never even examine me for Presbyopia just told me I had it. Well at 48 years old I do have it, but what power of reader glasses should I buy, or what about bifocals? 3: Even though she gets and distributes Focus brand contacts she refused to order me any. I can only assume because I somehow hurt her pride. Instead of an attitude of "Wow, they do make a lens for Presbyopia now, thank you for taking the time and showing this to me; this might be a really good choice for my other patients". Instead I got,"get out of here, I am never going to help you". Why was I treated so unprofessional? Maybe she had a bad day or something, I really don't know. But I guess if I want to see better I am going to have to suck it up and pay for someone else to examine me. read more

I went to have an eye exam along with a contact fitting on February 20, 2013. It is now April 9 and I still do not have my TRIAL pair of contacts. They have already charged my credit card and my insurance for the 6 month supply of permanent lens but have yet to get the trial lens to make sure they are what I need, much less get the permanent lenses. After over 45 days they offered to call the company to see where the contacts were. Very poor customer service. read more

Dr. Kish is an excellent doctor with an enjoyable, friendly personality. Very good at soothing ones concerns over cataract surgery.

The staff at the office are terrible and they have no knowledge at all. They don't know which insurance plans are accepted and which are not. There are the three ladies in a huddle in the receptionist who view you more of a nuisance than a patient. Also, I have not seen Kish, only her assistants.
