Our house has a huge deck that was built around a gigantic, old silver maple tree. The tree was roughly 80 to 90 feet tall and it was estimated to be close to 100 years old. The tree was in a sad state and we were fearful that one of the large limbs would break in high winds resulting in a tremendous amount of damage to our house. We consulted with three arborists, and they all agreed the tree should be removed, but only one of them had a crane large enough to do the job and that was Nick's tree service. This was not an inexpensive project. It was just under $11k. But I cannot speak highly enough of the speed and quality of work that Nick's tree service provided. It took them less than three hours to completely remove this tree. And after they had cut, chipped, swept, and left. You would've never known they were even here, except of course, for the huge hole in our deck where the tree used to be. They're across from me now on our very narrow, old midtown street. These guys, again, leave me aghast. ( I stood in the front yard to watch this time; embarrassing!) Obviously it's not just me from reading other reviews. I'd call them first, any time. I was coming down the street, going home. The tree they're taking down is huge, so the little street was blocked. One of the workers held up his hand, indicating it would be one minute. It was less! So polite, so professional. It's done. By the time I'm finishing this review, they've finished. Like magic! They brought in what looked like a mechanized Army division and made short work of some big trees, literally plucking a tall cypress with a crane, lifting it over our little house and feeding it into a monster chipper. Then they were gone with nary a trace. The price was a great value, too. Plus Nick, Debbie, Myrna, and Elliott were super friendly. Can't say enough. The staff of Nick's Trees know how to treat huge trees carefully, and they know how to handle people carefully, too. They did a beautiful job removing our huge fallen pine tree from a tricky spot. But they also did a beautiful job relating to all the neighborhood onlookers watching the "aerial show" as they swung in their experts and swung out the tree, piece by piece, with their huge crane. Everyone working for Nick's was masked, and everyone was extremely polite and good-humored, too. The clean up was great. I called another company for an estimate before I called Nick's. The other company wanted quite a bit of money, stating it would probably take all day (8 hours) to do the work I wanted done in my yard. I asked around and my co-worker suggested I call Nick's Tree Service. So I did, and Nick himself came out to our house and looked over our yard, saw what trees I wanted removed or trimmed and went back to his office to work up the estimate. You know how you get a feeling for people when you meet them? Well, I knew even if Nick's estimate was the same as the other guy's, I was going to use Nick. He was very personable & friendly. So the estimate came in UNDER the other guy's and when they arrived to do the work, the foreman of the crew came up & introduced himself right away. Again, I could tell this guy and this company was QUALITY. They not only cut down all the trees I wanted down, they ground up the stumps, hauled all the trees to their trucks and had the whole project done within 4 hours! And the other guy said a whole day? Really dude? I know I made the right decision hiring Nick's Tree Service. I don't give out 5 stars lightly - but they definitely earned them all. read more

I've only used Nick's tree service for firewood. And only a single time but my experience will not result in repeat service. I ordered a rick delivered which cost an extra $5.00 because I live in Owasso. The delivery date was a Saturday until I got a text saying he didn't want to delivery on Saturday. Then I was given a choice of a few days and decided on Thursday after 5. It wasn't delivered because he had to work late. In the spirit of full disclosure I do not know who was supposed to deliver but whoever it was worked late and I told them if it was going to be later than 7:00PM then that was too late and too dark. So rather than bring it on the following Saturday when it was sunny and 65 degrees the person text me for Monday after 5. The truck pulled up at around 6:30 (after dark) and I was told the agreement was that the wood would be dropped off in the front and I had to stack it. And if he had to stack it, I would have to pay more. I told the man to just take the wood back because that was the first I had heard of that and I would never have agreed to it because I have a bad back. I gave him two choices, either take the wood back or stack it where I wanted it for the agreed upon $95. The man said he would go ahead and stack it after looking at the places I wanted it stacked. The man did not stack the wood in the places I told him but rather removed a tarp from a completed half rick and put some wood on the completed have rick and covered it back up with the tarp. All toll I received about 2/3 of a rick of wood after 3 weeks of headache. I have never had such a hassle for getting a rick delivered and having it delivered in the dark for the first time. That was my experience the first and only time I will ever use this company. read more
