The greeting and service was excellent. The manager (owner?) came around to genuinely check on our table and all others. The food each of us had was a 5!! I had gluten free penne with grilled chicken, tomatoes and broccolini in olive oil. It was delicious! My friends/colleagues had other pasta dishes they said were wonderful. We look forward to visiting here again on our next visit!

The place has a great feel - dim lighting, open kitchen, good energy without being over the top. Easy spot to settle in and enjoy a meal. Our waiter was excellent for most of the night. He knew the menu well and pointed us toward the handmade pasta over the boxed options. It came with an upcharge, as expected, but worth it. Toward the end of the evening he started disappearing for longer stretches. We weren't in a rush, but it went a little past what you'd want. Food was excellent. I started with the oysters - fresh, cold, clean, with that nice briny hit. For my entrée I had the scallops over fresh pasta with mushrooms and thin crispy potato chips. The scallops were spot on with a good sear and the whole dish came together really well. My wife had the chicken piccata (which I sampled - and really liked), daughter went with the wild mushroom tagliatelle, and her boyfriend had the pappardelle with grilled chicken and scallops. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We also a bruschetta app to start, which was not as flavorful as I expected. The wonderful warm bread disappeared fast. A couple Caesar salads were ordered and received compliments from those who partook. We left full and satisfied. Overall, really good experience and consistent with our first visit. Would recommend and we'll definitely be back.

My kids liked their meals, especially with the included dessert of homemade gelato. My wife and I had the Smokehouse Smorgasbord which offered a good sampling of all the meats and sides. We liked all the meat options, full of flavor and tender. Portions were plentiful and we both ate our fill. I have to make a special note on the chicken and turkey, most times, those choices make the bottom of my list but their poultry was so juicy and tender! There was also a lot of variety when it came to sauces - sweet, heat, mustard based, vinegar based, it was all represented. Prices were fair and service was "small town" chill and friendly. Two saucy thumbs way up!

It was getting busier by the time we left at noon; they also handled a lot of take-out orders. I'm glad we were there on a rainy Friday in the off-season--I can only imagine how packed this place would be in the summer! Service was great the whole time. A single-sided big menu has most of the food offerings, but there is a separate Spam menu that can be brought out on request. My husband had a beer while I was happy they had cans of local Loon Juice cider available. For our appetizer, we ordered a side item: fried okra. I don't think we've found okra anywhere else in the state! It was perfectly cooked with a cornmeal coating, piping hot and delicious. I had the Smokin' BBQ Platter. I had brisket for my meat option, with coleslaw and cornbread on the side. Perfectly cooked brisket, not dry at all. I'm an avid home baker and something of a cornbread snob, and this was excellent stuff--a perfect little loaf, sweet and perfect with butter melted within it. My husband had the Combination Platter with pulled pork and ribs. Now, he is a rib snob, having BBQed many over the years, and he declared these to be perfect (a rare thing to find in a restaurant). Not a shred of meat remained on the bone. Pulled pork was great, too, and he agreed that the cornbread was something special. He liked having pit potatoes, too, something that isn't common. Three kinds of BBQ sauce sat on our table in full, non-sticky squeezable containers. I tried the bourbon and loved it. My husband also tried the inferno; he can handle a lot of heat and said it wasn't really hot to his perception, but the flavor was good. In all, a fantastic experience here. I'd definitely come here again when passing through.
