I like the convenient layout of the market where the vendors are pretty much in a couple rows and there are porta potties and plenty of parking close by. The vendors are local and reasonably priced and there were many good made to order vendors for coffee, baked goods, dog treats, and burgers too. It's a pet-friendly market too so it was a treat to see many beautiful, well-behaved dogs. I would love to return when I have more time to walk through the vendor tents.

The market has some brick and mortar stands as well as true small businesses. Some vendors will be rotated while others will be weekly staples. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about some of the vendor's products and where their business started! Roselle is the perfect addition to the "french market" cities and I cannot wait to visit again soon!

There is a great variety of items for sale: fruits and vegetables, already made dinners, (empanadas, tacos, gumbo) fresh seafood (such good quality!), meats and eggs, various baked goods, local honey, teas and juices, essential oils, air plants, and my favorite-Kettle Corn! It's easy to get to, in almost downtown Naperville and the hours make it easy: 3:00pm-7:00pm. This is my favorite Farmer's Market and I attend practically every Wednesday.

It's not picked "under ripened" and then driven across America in a gas guzzling semi. And best of all, they donate the unsold produce at the end of each business day to "Loaves and Fishes"! Why wouldn't you want to support a local business who does so much for our community? Bring cash or check. Actually, just bring your checkbook; you might see all of the produce and not want to have to keep it below your cash on hand. I am making vegetable soup tonight and every vegetable was still growing as of this morning! Knowing that brings a whole added level to the words "comfort food".

So I put up with a fleeting moment of mistreatment. But today, that same old bad attitude appeared after I asked a simple question during my visit, that could've been answered more directly & easily. I questioned myself why do I even bother, especially when their produce isn't superior to other places I can go, to get farm fresh produce. There are more farmer's markets around, such as McDonald's Farm at Knoch Knolls Park in Naperville. Maybe my visits were wrapped in (wannabe) nostalgia, or due to convenience of location. Whatever, today I hit the top of my tolerance for their rude-ish treatment. This decision should have been made after an earlier visit this summer when a cashier looked at me crazy because I did not leave an electronically-produced request for a tip. For what?? Standing there just doing your job ringing up an order??? And lastly, their produce isn't the tastiest, and is really overpriced in comparison to other places around. I guess I kind of felt sorry & wanted to support the place. But no more. I am finally done. Fed up and moving on. Mayneland Farm is no longer an option for me.

Items for sale varied from produce, meat, sweets, flowers, artisan products, and more! They also have live music being performed by Elegant Ensembles! I would certainly come back to this farmer's market to see the difference during the regular week.

There are several farmers offering beautiful fresh and unique vegetables you won't find in the stores! I purchased mini eggplants that were amazing stir fried. The market also has human and social services here providing resources for whatever the needs of the community are. I'm so happy we have this farmers market and it gets better every year!!
