They used to be amazing! I loved their produce and friendly service. However, since the farm has been sold to another management, it has gone downhill. Numerous times, I have caught them overcharging and quoting weights that were larger than what it was. I stopped going to their questionable integrity. I decided that today will be my last visit here. I live right down the road, and sometimes I walk here to get my "steps" in. I have gone here for over 20 years, and during most visits I have not been treated well. The ladies have been unhelpful, or closed-mouthed when answering my questions, and just simply unfriendly. Perhaps they are just over-worked or tired. At least that's how I justified their off-handed treatment of me, and my continued patronage over the years. So I put up with a fleeting moment of mistreatment. But today, that same old bad attitude appeared after I asked a simple question during my visit, that could've been answered more directly & easily. I questioned myself why do I even bother, especially when their produce isn't superior to other places I can go, to get farm fresh produce. There are more farmer's markets around, such as McDonald's Farm at Knoch Knolls Park in Naperville. Maybe my visits were wrapped in (wannabe) nostalgia, or due to convenience of location. Whatever, today I hit the top of my tolerance for their rude-ish treatment. This decision should have been made after an earlier visit this summer when a cashier looked at me crazy because I did not leave an electronically-produced request for a tip. For what?? Standing there just doing your job ringing up an order??? And lastly, their produce isn't the tastiest, and is really overpriced in comparison to other places around. I guess I kind of felt sorry & wanted to support the place. But no more. I am finally done. Fed up and moving on. Mayneland Farm is no longer an option for me. read more

I guess I've never written a review on Mayneland Farm but we've been here many scores of times over the years.  Mayneland is a small and quaint old school farm, and one located right in the midst of a modern suburban community to boot, and we lived nearby in that same community for 14 years.  Even now, if we happen to be in the area, we always try to swing by and putz around to see what's available.  There's nothing quite like farm fresh quality.  The goods are on pricier side, but you know it's all as fresh as it can be, locally grown, and you're also supporting a long standing mom-and-pop operation.  They're all a friendly bunch here as well.  At closing time on this Thursday we picked up a $5 quart of jam berries, basically older strawberries, as that's about all they had left.  We'll be back sooner or later. read more

I grow many things but my garden space isn't big enough to grow all of the things I want. So I both garden and use a business worthy of my money. Mayneland has been in business for generations. A small local business who gives so much to the community. Their produce is minimally treated and picked fresh and ripe every day. It's not picked "under ripened" and then driven across America in a gas guzzling semi. And best of all, they donate the unsold produce at the end of each business day to "Loaves and Fishes"! Why wouldn't you want to support a local business who does so much for our community? Bring cash or check. Actually, just bring your checkbook; you might see all of the produce and not want to have to keep it below your cash on hand. I am making vegetable soup tonight and every vegetable was still growing as of this morning! Knowing that brings a whole added level to the words "comfort food". read more

I've come to this Farm Stand a few times when I used to live in Naperville about 7-8 years ago. I'm so happy this place is still open it's hard to find a Farm Stand now in West Chicago where I currently live. The produce is always fresh and there's a very good selection of interesting and normal produce. It makes you want to experiment in your cooking. We love Mayneland Farm for all of our produce needs. The employees are always so friendly and helpful and willing to help you find what you need. I love that they sell cut flowers with cute little cards as well! Such a cute idea! The star of the show at Mayneland, though, is the corn. I was born and raised in a rural area with fresh corn on every corner and this corn puts ALL of them to shame. Fresh and sweet and amazing. I can't recommend this place enough! read more

My mother & I decided we are tomato snobs, not wine snobs, but tomato snobs! We have gotten tomatoes from 5 different farm stands , and every time we tried a different one we kept saying "this isn't as good as Mayneland farm in Naperville". It's very difficult to give them away as they are so good & I don't want to waste them on someone that doesn't appreciate them! I heard from a source that they are so much better than the others as they use organic mushroom compost . I'm not sure if that makes a difference, but they are definitely mor flavorful than all the other tomatoes we tried! read more

Cute little farm to hold you over during the week in between Saturday Farmer's markets! They have fresh veggies and fruit and strawberries that actually taste like strawberry! They also have raw honey. Definitely on my list. read more

OMG! Where have you been all my life! My husband stopped on his way home from work and picked up strawberries and asparagus. I haven't eaten strawberries in years because the ones at the stores just have no flavor. These actually taste like strawberries!!!! Ate them all in a day. Will be going back to get more. And the asparagus was huge! And delicious as well! You have to go!! We will never go back to the stores again! read more

Family owned and operated, MayneLand Farm is in Naperville. They have a bountiful selection of the freshest veggies and fruit; absolutely the most gorgeous tomatoes! I like red onion on a burger or in a salad, but seldom buy because stores usualy just have huge bulbs and I have no use for more than a slice or two. Their stand has large and small Red onions..they had purselane and dandelion greens and several varieties of lettuce...and as I was leaving I was invited to sample a wedge of melon. I love this place. It's one of the best things about Naperville. I buy all my vegetables here, and take a big bag to work to make salad at lunch. I can't even count the number of times people will comment on how delicious it smells--salad! --because everything is fresh and at its peak. One person asked me why I don't get tired of it every day. But when produce is this fresh, you crave it. The tomatoes are the high point of the season for me. Juicy, silky, sweet-- I look forward to them all year. Last night I had a chopped tomato over burrata with fresh basil, olive oil, salt and pepper-- heaven. Mayneland is a treasure and I hope the community supports it to the fullest. read more
