I grow many things but my garden space isn't big enough to grow all of the things I want. So I both garden and use a business worthy of my money. Mayneland has been in business for generations. A small local business who gives so much to the community. Their produce is minimally treated and picked fresh and ripe every day. It's not picked "under ripened" and then driven across America in a gas guzzling semi. And best of all, they donate the unsold produce at the end of each business day to "Loaves and Fishes"! Why wouldn't you want to support a local business who does so much for our community? Bring cash or check. Actually, just bring your checkbook; you might see all of the produce and not want to have to keep it below your cash on hand. I am making vegetable soup tonight and every vegetable was still growing as of this morning! Knowing that brings a whole added level to the words "comfort food".

I've come to this Farm Stand a few times when I used to live in Naperville about 7-8 years ago. I'm so happy this place is still open it's hard to find a Farm Stand now in West Chicago where I currently live. The produce is always fresh and there's a very good selection of interesting and normal produce. It makes you want to experiment in your cooking. Looking forward to the next time I make a stop!

I go to the farm for pickup every week, and I love the variety, that I can pick and choose between over a dozen different herbs and veggies, the extras they often have, the UPick tomatoes and beans and etc. It's also such a relief to know where my food is coming from, that there are no chemical fertilizers or pesticides in it, that it's not downwind a feedlot so no chances of salmonella outbreaks in their leafy greens, that it hasn't been sprayed to ripen -- the peace of mind itself is invaluable. They have three seasons (spring, summer, and fall) that you can sign up for (that often sell out early, especially the summer season), as well as Thursday farmstands in the afternoon. Also, at the beginning of May they sell seedlings, with prices cheaper than The Growing Place, and most of the plants I buy from there thrive in my garden with no additions required (I put compost in the hole and around the base when I first plant them, mulch around the seedlings, and that's pretty much it, by mid-July I'm getting more tomatoes and basil and etc than I know what to do with).

PSA: Be mindful of how Black customers are treated at Fresh Thyme Market in Naperville…read more.. I had one of the most upsetting and disrespectful experiences at this location on Thursday, July 17th around 7:51 PM. I came in on my work break to pick up just two items: a plant-based Italian beef and an avocado that was clearly placed in the section marked "4 for $5." However, it rang up as $2.99. What followed was nearly 20 minutes of frustration and poor treatment. A young cashier delayed helping me, questioned me about the price in a condescending tone, and then called a manager who treated me even worse. Not only did the manager refuse to honor the price I saw posted, but he also accused me of switching the avocado sticker--a claim that was extremely offensive and baseless. I offered for them to review the security footage, and they refused. I felt racially profiled and disrespected over a simple produce item. As a Black woman, I can't ignore how I was treated in comparison to how I've seen other customers treated here. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and I will not be returning to this store. I hope management will address how they treat customers with more respect and dignity going forward.
