At first, the work on my shrub trimmings and mulch looked good. After a month, the shrubs were showing that the trim work was not tight enough and the weeds have been growing out of control! We have had different companies do this work and we have NEVER paid so much and have never had to re-weed during the same season. I do not recommend their work. In addition to the drainage system, we had Scott Nickett & Team design our landscape, clean/weed, and install plantings. Landscape planner, Jeff, evaluated our needs, developed a design plan, and returned to personally oversee the installation. Nickett coordinated the landscape installation to coincide with the drainage work. The installation team was hardworking, had excellent attention to detail, and was eager to please. Neatness counts and it showed as they removed all debris and ensured the right look. End result was fantastic! They left watering instructions which we followed to a T. A couple of months later, our new azaleas, rhododendrons, spruces, and numerous other plantings are thriving! Unfortunatly, 2 of 4 arbs did not make it. Jeff returned to examine the root balls so as to prevent future issues for other clients. Of course, they honored the plant warranty and replaced the arbs. When we moved into our house we had a large crop circle in the center of backyard from an above ground pool. We also had water drainage issues. Fast forward to June we hired Nickett to remove the stone, drop dirt, and seed it. The crew showed up on time and we had a communication issue between us and the salesman. This was solved by spending more money. I waited till now to write a review because I wanted to see how the end result would turn out. Fast forward to today and the area they seeded is dead and the area is not level. I received a card in the mail asking if I would allow them to use this job as a referral and I wrote that we are not happy and not to use us. No phone call and no follow up. The only reason I gave two stars is because they had showed up on time. In the spring I will be forced to order dirt and seed the lawn myself. The seed they used was mostly weeds. I seeded a patch on my front lawn with Scott's and have thicker greener grass then what Nickett planted. Quick to schedule, quick to take money, and they disappear after the job with no follow up. Do not hire. Horrible lawn cutting service. Refused to refund me for a single cut after destroying the edge of my lawn. Instead of using a mower in my backyard they tried used a line trimmer to knock down the grass - had to call them three times to correct this behavior. They'll cut during wet days and spray clippings all over your house and porch and kill grass. They leave your gate open after cutting (my dog has gotten out twice). As it turned out through their investigation, it was not a landscaping issue, but a plumbing issue that I was missing. They were thorough in their work. I imagine some other companies may not have seen this, and charged me for work that was not necessary. Nickett's did drainage work for my house 14 years ago, and that system is working fine. I called Scott for help with a problem we were having when strong rains flooded our driveway and yard. Scott was on time for our appointment. We walked around the property together as Scott looked for solutions, including checking the drains along the road. Then Scott told me the problem wasn't with my yard but that I should check with the highway department about having the storm drains cleared. That really made my day; I was planning on spending thousands to have my yard regraded. Instead, I followed his advice and called the highway department, which solved the problem. I offered to pay a fee for his advice, but Scott refused it. Not only that, but he called a couple weeks later after another storm had passed to see if the problem had been solved. I highly recommend Nickett Landscaping and would use them for future work. They are very honest and knowledgeable. read more

There are much better smaller landscape companies in Bucks County from which to choose with owners that actually care about the quality of their work and charge a lot less. Before you use Nickett this would be worth the read if you are having a decent size project done. We needed to have new beds, trees, and bushes added to our property. We went with Nickett even though they were on the higher end of companies we had quote (family recommended them who have also since ceased using them because of their own issues with them). The total cost came to over $7K with Nickett. In the first year, three trees dies, and two bushes. They were replaced per contract. Two of the new trees (worth $700) didn't look good with in the first week of being replace, which I raised alarms about and sent pictures to them, I was told to keep watering and it was just heat and shock. Unfortanately, the trees didn't make it. I know we are dealing with living things and get that things die and you can't help every little thing. Their policy is one warranty replacement so they will not be replacing these trees. The trees have heavy root balls, so after dropping over $7K - I asked Chris and Scott Nickett if they could pop out their warranty dead trees (which would take less then 15 minutes for 1 guy with their little machine), and was told no they are washing their hands of it, and they would give me pricing to do so. Now I am not one looking for a hand out or arguing for them to replace them, if you check my google reviews you will see this isn't in my nature. I never even asked them to reseed all the new grass they put down that died in the two months because I realistically get that stuff happens sometimes. These trees that didn't look good at time of replacement should be repectfully popped out by Nickett. At the end of the day I would not recommend using them, when push comes to shove with trying to keep a customer they aren't interested. read more

I would avoid this company at all costs. I recently moved into the area and needed to hire a temporary landscaper. I spoke with several companies and based on reviews chose this company. I spoke with someone on the phone told them I only wanted my grass cut one time. I did not want to sign up for a service until I saw there work first. I stressed that I was only looking for one cut. I was told to sign up online. I did this and a few days later my grass was but. They did a bad job; specifically they were a lot of spots they missed. But, I paid for the service because they did cut it. Their price is almost double my current provider. I thought nothing of it, thinking it was just the one cut, but they came a week later and cut again. I received no notice prior to this. I called up and let them know i did not request this, apparently if you sign up online they automatically give you recurring service. This is a very dishonest practice. The second time they came the did a bit better but it still wasn't satisfactory, especially for the high cost. I expressed my concern and told them I did not want them cutting my grass again. I was told I would receive a call from a manager or someone else but this call never came. To sum up, they are overpriced and do a terrible job. This is probably the worst experience with a lawn service I've ever had. They cut the grass extremely close to the ground, they dug up patches all over the yard and yet left other areas, huge areas, completely untouched. The weed wacking/ edging is a complete joke. This is our second year using Nickett Landscaping. I met the owner at the Y in the locker room. I was sharing my stress about working 60 hours a week and then cutting my own lawn. I did not think I could afford a lawn cutting service. He said he would send someone out with a quote. He did and I as impressed, so much so that I have not cut my lawn in 11 months!!!( this is now time I spend with my kids..priceless) I had complained once about the guys not doing a thorough job on the edging. This is the last time I've dialed their #!!! Everyone makes mistakes, but how do they make it right? This company and the group of guys they send out are top-notch.... I do not recommend Nickett, they broke my fence several times, dug up my backyard with their horrible lawn cutting. And they will charge you if they miss a week. I didn't hire them again this year, I was just outside with my fence guy, and found a ton more parts of my fence they hit. They have two strikes against them: 1) They instituted a new 0-2" policy for snow removal. They charged me 80+ do use a leave blower on my driveway for 60 seconds. Then spread calcium cloride for a few minutes more. 2) It is the day AFTER the big snow of 2016 and it is 8pm and STILL NO SHOW by NICKETT. No Phone calls from them, No ETA, No email from them, They are so ignorant, that they do not answer their phone nor answer any emails. However, after 2 years, our lawn is still in a bad shape, despite us getting them to do heavy aeration twice and multiple applications They kept on promising that the lawn would come up, but its still in a bad shape, and they have not even bothered to check its status. Awful. Simply awful. 2 years ago, we had them regrade our backyard and install a drainage system to prevent pooling water. They put in a system that a) doesn't turn off automatically, so you run the risk of burning out the motor, b) installed the outdoor pump incorrectly so now it gets flooded often quits - resulting in the pooling of large areas water. Also, we asked them to install a basement window - which they did, but failed to allow enough room on the outside for access, so not only does the window not open fully, but also it's not within code. You're better off burning your money, and praying for your problem to go away than hire them. read more

Horrible company. I first called to get an estimate, which was pretty simple since my address was in their system from the year prior from a previous client. Still, it took several days for a response. Okay, it gets busy- I get it, I let that go. Next, the first billing- they charged the wrong card. On creating my account, they left the credit card number of the person who used to live here in my account and proceeded to charge HER card after services were completed. Had to call and get that sorted out. Two weeks later, I come home to find the rear driver's side panel and bumper completely scratched up and dented. Easily over a 1000$ in damage. This company is the ONLY people in and out of this driveway during the day. My car, which has been parked for months- has not seen a road or highway for months since it is not inspected, currently. I call to complain with them and within 2 hours- I notice a Nickett truck in the driveway (white, in color). They sent a mechanic to look at the damage and take some pictures. He was apologetic and couldn't believe this happened. He was going to get back to his boss and someone would get back to me soon... 20 minutes or so later, I receive a call saying they discussed the situation and that there's NO way any of their crew did it. The equipment is green and they said there's white and black scratches on my car. NOT paint, black plastic from the bumper and the white primer, since that's how badly it's scratched, is how I explained it. The mechanic who looked at my vehicle, agreed with me. Now, I am out over 1000$ to pay for the damage on my car that was made by a careless, lying individual and the company is out of a paying customer. Completely unhappy with their horrible customer 'disservice' and coverup. I'm looking for a new one though, if anyone has any recommendations? read more

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. So unprofessional it made my eyes water. They ran a special in the summer of 2020 for FALL hedge trimming. My mother pre-paid for this service. When we scheduled it, these people showed up at 4:45pm in DECEMBER! The sun was going down. I called and asked why they would send them to do this so late in the day and they said they always trim hedges in the dark...... What? So that work was not done. Then by the summer of 2021, my lawn looked so bad, and the hedges were so overgrown on the front of the house I could not see out of the windows! I called and scheduled them to cut all hedges across the front of the house. They cut half of them (all to the Right of the front door and down the walkway, but not to the left and under the bedroom windows) and stated they wanted me to be home to tell them how to cut the hedges that were blocking the windows beneath the bedroom windows..... What? I FIRED THEM BY EMAIL and got a new landscaper who has my lawn pristine, and hedges trimmed. But wait, it's not the end of the story. Nicketts has the audacity to try to send me a bill for work not done, and was trying to bill me for cutting my lawn that they did not cut!!! My new landscaper cut it!! they were trying to take credit for a cut they did not perform. These people are the worst in customer service, they lie, and have very poor business practices. No accountability. Started with them almost 15 years ago. They were dependable and did quality work. The last couple of years the work became shoddy, there was property damage (even to my neighbors that did not use them). Three months ago we had a new swing set installed and wrote and email asking them to stay away from it because we were told that cutting into it would void the warranty on it. Also, who wants a brand new, expensive, swing set damaged? Well..on the second mow the entire set was cut into. They had reps come out to see the damage and they said they would have it repaired. The contract we signed even says that they will stay 6" away from all structures. Multiple emails and calls later NOTHING has been done AND they are billing me for the mowing on that date. Nickett's has been cutting my lawn for 9 years. I sent an email asking for a leaf clean-up quote. I received a cheery email back from Jill to call the office. I did. The person on the other end of the phone did not identify herself. She was totally disinterested in words and tone. I would have thought they'd be interested in doing some work in the off season and would recognize the importance of a 9 year customer. They were not hired to cut my lawn. When they started to cut the lawn I asked them to leave. The gentleman cutting the lawn said could he finish the front "because the grass is uneven". I said yes. He cut about 60% of the front and left. I received a bill for the entire lawn, while I was on vacation. When I called them and explained what happened, I was told that they would give me a 30% discount because they didn't know the size of the entire lawn. Funny that the complaints I am reading here all have to do with communication issues, and that the company does know how to listen. I was told by owner that I lacked communication skills because I was an accountant and accountants are numbers people and lack communication skills. This guy knows nothing about me. I teach at the University level and I am also an ordained minister. Bottom line is that I know how to communicate, and much better than he. The problem is that they do not know how to communicate, and really just don't listen. I used them for drainage issues. What a mistake. When they were doing the job, I had issues. I tried to bring this to the job foreman's attention, but he was always on the phone getting things in order for his next day's job. No direct attention was given to this job by the owner or his foreman. When I brought this up to the owner, he bullied me down. You get nowhere with this guy. He never admits or takes blame for a bad job. The front drain was totally wrong. When I brought this to his attention, he tried to place the blame on me for not supervising the job as it was progressing. Here I thought that I was paying the experts for their expertise on land drainage. Now the drain in the wrong place is my fault. Today I had them come out in hopes of resolving the front drain issue. The one worker stated that the drain was in the wrong place. HELLO !! SO he called the owner. I was told by the owner that he would fix it but I had to pay for the work. Hold on. The expert placed the drain in the wrong location and now it's my fault. Very interesting. I tried arguing with this guy, but you get nowhere. He starts yelling that I am rude for talking over him, yet he never lets you talk. And when he does, he puts your down, by telling you accountants lack communication skills. Needless to say nothing productive get done here today. Best that you continue your search for a company with more expertise and better communication skills. read more

This was the worse service I received from a landscaper.Do not hire them because they have no customer service. I tried calling and I had to go through 3 different people just to schedule a quote. Apparently Chris is the only one that can schedule a quote, but he is never in office. So we just kept playing phone tag and he would not e-mail me and they would not provide an e-address to get a hold of Chris. Very disappointed as I had a $10,000 dollar budget for a landscaping job that I will give to a company that care about their customers. I call again one final time and John picked up the phone and made it seem like I was at fault because Chris left me two messages when I was at work. He literally called me and left a message and I called him back within 3 minutes and he was gone. If you are going to call somebody leave your cell phone so that I can get a hold of you. I talk to the secretary and she would not schedule a request for a quote. On the final time I called and said ok I said you know what I am going with someone else and the guy on the phone said ok and hung up. Wow I know business has been good, but it's not always going to be that way and you should treat potential customers with respect. If this was such a hassle imagine if I would have hire Them to do the job. Do not hire stay away. You don't want to hire some overrated company because in the long run they will just not respond to any of your needs and leave you and go to the next guy because they can. There are other reviews about no one to contact. You think they would get the picture and update their process, but no they are too good for that is what the guy sound it. Stay away stay away!!
