Bought a suite in their sale about 2 years ago for £2300…read more This was alot of money for me, but I felt it was better to get something quality that would last a long time. The shop was not cheap, but the furniture there looked very solid, and higher quality than I had seen in many volume shops. The suite was delivered on time and as promised. However, I was not best pleased when a couple of months back I had a problem with one of the sofas collapsing on one side. I have to say, though, their response to this was truly excellent. When I phoned (on a Friday), I quoted my invoice number and the receptionist found my details immediately. I was told the manager was on holiday but would be back next week. Sure enough, I was called back by him on the Monday. He was polite, apologetic and totally professional, and promised to get on it straight away. An engineer called on me the same week, at a pre-arranged time. He dismantled and examined the sofa, found the problem (a knot in the wood that had split) and spent about 3 hours repairing the inside there and then. When he left, the sofa was as good as new. Whilst the initial problem was disappointing, these things do happen and I have to say the service I received in response to the fault was truly excellent. I would definitely shop there again, with confidence that if anything ever did go wrong - which I suspect would be unlikely -, then they would not be found wanting, if my previous experience is anything to go by.

Abriachan Garden Nursery is a very special kind of place. It's probably what the tourist brochures…read morewould call a hidden gem. The garden nursery has a wide range of local plants that will grow in this climate and all are very cheap compared with the big garden centres. The secret to this garden nursery is the garden walks (with an honesty box for admission charges). I would never have imagined that this place existed on the banks of the loch. It is a fabulous garden on the side of the hill with lots of surprises around every turn (I won't spoil it by telling all the details). It is very steep however and you have to be reasonably fit to walk around. The climb is however well worth it when you see the views. Don't miss it the next time you are driving past.

As we knew they were both avid gardeners, I searched for "best plant nurseries in Scotland" and Abriachan popped right up to the top of the results list. Hamish there was very helpful and quickly responsive to my email inquiry requesting a gift certificate, and made it very easy to process and ensure that the certificates would be equally easy for our friends to pick up at the store. It sells everything you could ever need to produce DIY disasters. The staff are fantastic and give you as much advice as you need - go midweek and you can chat all afternoon on the merits of different boilers and how you can save a fortune fitting it yourself! Try not to take small children - they like touching all the nails and screws and it takes forever to find them because it is just so biiiiggg.(don't forget to look in the playhouse at the front door!). I just wish it had a cafe and then my weekends would be complete.

Front of store is not particularly well laid out and the displays at the front of the first few aisle can make it difficult to manoeuvre a trolly. Trollys themselves are often hard to find and many are in a poor state of repair. The above aside it is a very well stocked store which fills a niche no-one else in the area could hope to. I ended up leaving without buying most of the things I came for as the noise was so intrusive. No idea why they have them. As you get to the tills they're also competing with overly loud music. Take noise cancelling earplugs if you want to shop there.

Perfect to keep childrens minds away from the fact that they are waiting in a slight queue and that Santa is just around the corner. At £7 it sounds pricey, however the gift you get is nice and the child's face when they get to sit on Santa's knee inside his little Grotto is Priceless! You are free to take a picture at no charge, a nice extra keepsake of a very believable Santa.

They most definately specialize in household items, mainly ornamental items. They always have the most beautiful ornaments in stock, usually before other shops have them. They do also have bedding and diy items in the shop along with other household items. My favourite bit about the shop is they now have a craft area with lots of fabulous little crafting pieces at such cheap prices. Its any crafters dream place. They provide also materials, wool and sewing materials too. The shop is brilliant at seasonal times of the year especially christmas, most of the itme parents bring there children in to see the christmas light displays and all the pretty ornamental displays. Ufortunately if i was going to be nit picky it would be that due to the popularity, it can be a bit difficult moving around the shop, especially when pushchairs are in due to the narrow aisles. Staff are fantastic, you couldn't get a nicer group of ladies, they are friendly polite and always willing to help, and if the shop has not got it will advise the best place where to go. Great little shop - i'd definately recommend it to anyone.
