We were driving down 101 in our motorhome from Eureka en route to Cloverdale and my husband was…read moreengine braking to slow the rig. The decompression sound suddenly became very loud and we had no idea what happened. We pulled off the highway into Cloverdale and looked for an auto shop we thought might be able to check it out. We went to Coverdale Automotive & Tires, but they don't work on motorhomes. The guy checked underneath our rig and said the problem was our muffler, which had separated. He sent us to Fletcher Fabrication. It was close to quitting time and the guy at Fletcher had an appointment about to start. He had us pull the rig up to the shop and said he'd be out within 1/2 hour. He said the weld bead between our catalytic converter and the exhaust manifold had separated and it appeared to not have been properly welded from the factory. In about 15 min he had us all fixed up - and after paying him $40 we were ready to go. We came by the next day to drop off a 12-pack of beer as an extra thanks. They were helpful, fixed our problem quickly and charged us only a small fee. It was the cheapest repair we've ever had done to our RV!
