Just another stellar job from these guys!!! Last night we had a pretty devastating fire in our 3-car garage, used as an electronics shop. A cheap power strip flamed out and set the room on fire and it ripped through and destroyed thousands of dollars of electronics gear. But the worst part is our well control box and pressure tank are in the garage (detached from house, thank God!). So we had no running water. And we share the well with a neighbor, and they also lost water. So first thing this morning about 11:30 I called Nicholson and spoke with super-nice Chris and he actually said he'd be over at 12:30 to "look at the scope" - but he brought another guy, a brand new pressure tank (he just assumed ours would be dead), and within less than 2 hours they had the old one out and the new one in and our water was restored! There were other gizmos and such as part of the system, but Chris inspected them and said they were just fine - he could have just said "it's all trash let's replace it" but he clearly doesn't roll that way. Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching and Chris and his assistant clearly showed to me they "have it". I'd have never questioned if they sold me all new boxes/bits - but they simply "did the right thing" I just can't speak more highly of Nicholson. This was our third dealing with them and once again, epic performance, friendliness, and price. Full TEN Yelp stars - you guys made our lives 90% less miserable today. Called them on a Saturday and they were super helpful over the phone as my well pump wasn't working correctly. They came out first thing Monday morning, explain the problem and fixed it right away. Really helpful, educational and pleasant. Super efficient I wish all companies were this efficient! I highly recommend them. read more

I have used Nicholson for the maintenance of my current well so when I went to purchase a new property I went to them. The report was vague and without detail. I called for clarification and was treated rudely to say the least. Less than two weeks later the pump that was inspected and questioned by myself failed. Thankfully the repair is on the previous owner as we are days away from signing. I believe this company is negligent and will go out of my way to use anyone else! My real estate agent has been shocked at how we were treated as well. read more

Woke up one morning and had no water...called Nicholson Drilling and even though they were fully booked they were able to get someone out that same day to at least tell me what the issue might be. They told me that my pump needed replacement (it was only 30 years old!) and came back the next day to get it done so me and my 93 year old mother would have water back on....we only had to endure one day of no water thanks to these angels! I won't call anyone else but these guys when it comes to my well needs! BTW - I live in PO now....not Federal Way anymore. read more

We have used this reliable company for at least 10 years to service and repair our well system. Honestly, I cannot say enough about their professionalism, knowledge and personableness! Something was wrong with the well - probably control box, and the house had no water. I called Nicholson drilling because they had serviced this well before for us. They were great before and didn't disappoint this time. Jay came out the very next morning, (someone would have come out that day on a Sunday, but I knew it could wait until morning. Jay figured out what the problem was and fixed it quickly and efficiently. Instead of a major problem it turned out to be a minor problem, but to figure it out, he needed to dig a bit around the well, which usually is not their job. He did it anyway. He was so kind and courteous explaining it to me all the way so I could understand what he was doing and what it may cost. He got everything up and running within in about and hour and half. I highly recommend this company and I highly recommend Jay. read more

We asked to get a quote for a new pump which we already knew it was bad and they sent a technician out to tell me what I already knew, then turned around and charged us for the technician. I ended up using another company that was a little over half of what Nicholson quoted. They gave the quote over the phone and didn't charge for it. It's too bad because we have been using Nicholson for years but no more! read more

I've been normally happy with Nicholson, but today after making appointment waiting 3 weeks and taking time off from work I had to call to find out why not here. Was told that technician went to a emergency first and would come after. This doesn't seem appropriate to me, think I should get a call on time expected instead of being second option and waiting for a call. I'm still waiting and will update when complete. read more

Twice now I've tried to go this company for a quote on getting a storage tank installed and both times after asking for my address they have quit responding. I waited weeks before telling them nevermind the first time and then I was promptly responded to saying they are busy. The second time just radio silence. read more

I have just got to say, if anyone is looking for an outfit for well maintenance, emergency water services, pressure tanks, anything well water related, you cannot go wrong with Nicholson Drilling Inc. In the past year or so we have had two water related emergencies and they have come through with stellar service both times. The latest was a complete loss of pressure from our well. I sent them an email, early in the morning before they were opened. I followed up with a call shortly after they opened. We were already on the schedule for the day. When they arrived, they fully diagnosed the issue, keeping us involved through the whole process. When it was determined that the pump was failing, they had a new one installed, tested, and working. All within just a coupld of hours. Five Stars, would recommend for any of your water needs (that they support of course!). read more

Our well froze in the unexpected freezing weather. Nicholsons answered their phone right at 8am when they opened and were able to quickly send a pro to show us how to keep the well from freezing and successfully got our faucets up and running in under an hour. Our experience was excellent and as new home owners we are so glad to have businesses like Nicholson's to call in an emergency. The tech was great too! Thank you so much!! read more

My well pump stopped working while I was running water. Called Nicholson and within a half hour a tech had called and was on his way. He diagnosed the problem, fixed it and was on his way in 15 minutes. He was very friendly and professional. Thanks Nicholson! read more

I don't give 5 stars, there is always room for improvement. My interaction with Nicholson Drilling could not have been any better, so I cannot just give them 4. My parents 30 year old well was down to 1 quart a minute. Alan came out and said that he could clean it out, replace the pump, the water line and controller and it should be just about good as new. Other well drillers told us to drill a new one for $15K. Alan and one other (sorry I don't remember his name) came out and did just that. When they were done the well was back to 7 Gallons/min. They were nice, funny, and did not mind my dad and I watching them work. When I got the bill, it was $500 less that the quote, which was several times less than a new well. If you need a new well or service to an existing one, don't waste you time by calling around, just use these guys first. read more

Very poor communication. Tried to get a quote from them for decommissioning a well in Longbranch a couple of people in the area said they were the ones to go to for this type of work. Spoke to & sent numerous emails to Brittny & Nic over the course of 5 months (late '16 thru spring '17). They indicated that yes, this is something they do..and they had a 3rd party guy that only does this type of work...& is not as booked solid as they are for drilling wells. So I sent them over the info they needed to prepare a quote. They never followed through with a quote, never returned calls (Nic was never in office) & didn't reply to emails. Ended up going with an outfit out of Kitsap Co. Was a complete waste of time dealing with this company. read more

Nic said they would start the well drilling last week of January, but didn't actually get around to us until a month later. We've been waiting a week AFTER they said they would return to come back and finish the job. Still waiting. No one at the company knows anything -- only Nic. I think I deserve to have the courtesy of a response. Crickets. My advice is go elsewhere -- they don't seem to need or value the business. Sorry, I never like giving bad reviews. But I hope this saves someone the experience we've had. read more

Wish I could do fewer star. Scheduling seems to be a challenge. Works seems to be good, but they don't show up when scheduled.

I recently had to have an old hand-dug well decommissioned in the way of a new septic system. I was stressed to the max about the septic. Nic came out and looked at the old well. He said that we could get a variance because of the location. Rather than having to drill out the old well and casing ($$$$), they could fill it with Bentonite ($). This saved me over a thousand dollars! All of my communications with Nicholson Drilling were not only prompt and professional, they were reassuring. read more

I built a house a couple of years ago and the property did not have a well. I called Nicholson and they had a quote back to in a reasonable time. They were within a few hundred dollars of 2 other company's quotes. I went with them because Nick was very prompt and knowledgable. He drilled the well and found us a good supply. One small part went out 6 months into using the well, I called Nick at 4:00 in the evening and someone was out the next day. No charge. It was under warranty. These people were AWESOME! Communication was clear and when I wanted more info, they came through with the right person answering the question(s) in full. I kept in communication with them laying out our expectations and confirming when the drilling could take place. They worked to keep us in the schedule in amongst all the others needing wells at a similar time. The demeanor for true customer service (patient and approachable) was much appreciated. Even after 6 months, when I had a question, they looked up the well and got me the answer. 5 stars for sure. Happy to have used them. Ty did the well and Nick handled a lot of the communication. These guys are great! People don't think a lot about their water until it doesn't flow. There is a lot more to drinking water than you think and you want to make sure the person working on your water system knows what they are doing. I hired them to change my failing well pump because they are the best, end of story. I work in the trades in this area and these guys are recommended everywhere you go for a reason. They did a great job and as a woman I really appreciated their professionalism. read more

I called Nicholson when our well water pressure suddenly dropped to a trickle. The office said they would have someone there within 30 minutes. About 15 minutes later Alan showed up. He solved the problem (clogged filter), found an unrelated problem (worn electrical switch) since he was there. Done and gone within an hour of my original call.
