I'm leaving for a better agency after several years and here's my honest assessment of this "agency." pros: - Chelsea who's Shawna's (agency owner) works her A$$ off. She's the only one who really works here. - I booked a few jobs with them. Helped build my portfolio so I can move elsewhere. cons: - This "agency" is Shawna's passive income. She's impossible to reach and doesn't do anything to "develop" you which is critical if you wanna have any success as a model. The "portfolio meetings" are "the pictures look great! you're beautiful!" and that's it. - They're completely online and don't meet with anyone in person. Terrible communication. I had to practically BEG them to have a portfolio meeting with Shawn (they never know when she's available, but Shawna's never in office or doing anything agency-related so... what's keeping her so busy?) - They sign a bunch of people but don't manage them well at all. Since my daughter is stinkin cute, we thought we'd try and capitalize on her cuteness =) I decided to go with Niche since they're relatively new in the business and they were so easy to work with. They request a few photos of a headshot and full body shot. Then they requested to see her. Being that she was Asian, they were thrilled to have her join their crew since they feel they didn't have enough Asian toddlers. They've got two child photographers who they usually recommend. I went with Tracy Corvo Wright who did an amazing job for my daughter. Tracy pulled out all her tricks and just about bent over backwards to try and get the absolute best shots of my daughter. Her pictures were soon uploaded to their website. I guess prospective clients search for potential models online as well as in their office. So far we've been to two auditions in the few months we've been with this agency. Apparently they find work for a ton of adult models according to their facebook page. I guess there's not a million jobs for toddlers on this island. Still, it's been a fun experience. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I left a review before but deleted it because I felt it was unfairly harsh. I'm not sure if this agency has networking references posting reviews or what...but as an honest reviewer and former employee (who has had several years modeling/commercial acting experience, & different agencies on the east and west coast..I just don't ever brag or advertise it at my age), honestly I just want to express my first hand dissapointment and embarassment being involved with this one. The manager here has some communication, scheduling, organizational issues. Don't be surprised if scheduling errors occur. For example, if someone shows up at your appointment time and the manager looks all fake shocked, just leave..It's petty and tacky. Telling you to wait 20-30 mins when you had both agreed on a time commitment, is disrespectful of your time schedule. There's also other red flags. You have to be prepared to pay hundreds to thousands of dollars to start your portfolio at this agency. They won't advance you or help you, all that is on you, and is YOUR responsibility, and yours only. That being made clear to me here, I was basically encouraged to put myself in debt. Even with the agency approved photographers, none of the photos were ever good enough. The lady here made me jump through hoops and waste money for nothing. Her communication style is quite passive-agressive. There's a lot of wishy-washy vagueness and abstract changeability. Not when it comes to castings (that's the nature of the industry), but okay, other goals are just made unecessarily confusing & not clearly outlined. My partner and I immediately cancelled our contracts once the toxicity of the environment here outweighed the possible pros. After almost a couple years with this agency, money gone to waste, no clear outlines, and basically set up for failure, we regretted ever signing here, and just moved on to a different talent agency. I understand this is a boutique agency, but the way its set up is more like a retired person's fluffy hobby rather a professional functioning agency. My honest experience was bad, to put it kindly. Im a photographer from LA visiting Hawaii on whim. I wanted to assemble a test shoot with a model to build out my portfolio. Contacted Shawna through eail via recommendation of a peer. Shawna replied to me right away. Very courteous and accomodating. She sent me a list of 5 females to choose to work with. I chose to work with Sarah Lau since her look fit best for the type of work I was looking to produce. Sarah was wonderful. Very professional, on time, takes direction and feedback. This is the most unprofessional modeling agency on the face of this planet. My wife took our baby daughter from Maui to Honolulu whereupon they thought the child was cute and they gave us a contract with the instruction to get some professional photos of her and told us that there was a good photographer on Maui that they recommend. After sending numerous emails and phone calls leaving messages simply asking for the name and contact info of this supposed photographer that they recommend, all attempts to contact them went unanswered and ignored. This literally went on for months without anyone from this agency ever answering a single email or phone call and all we were ever asking for was the contact info for their photographer. Eventually after months of trying we finally got a hold of someone on the phone where they told us in a very rude fashion that it's just too much trouble for them to take on a child from the next island over and they were going to cancel our contract. Why couldn't anyone respond to the numerous calls and emails to tell us this? Just a single email stating that it was too much trouble for them and it's not going to work out would've been just fine and we would all move along but no, that's the amount of effort this place will put in which is essentially zero. The icing on the cake was the lady on the phone spoke with my wife and told us that we were the unprofessional ones when they don't answer a single email or phone call asking a single question. Seriously, do yourself a favor and avoid this place and these people like the plague. read more

Just as many reviews have stated, this agency is a joke. I was signed with this agency and went to several castings through them, not one time was I told the correct location, time or date for the casting. I would show up and they would have no idea I was coming or say that it was a different date or time. Any time any of the people tried to get ahold of Shawna, she would never answer. The one positive with this agency is Brandon, Shawna's brother. He is professional, honest and I think if he ran the entire agency, there would be a lot more positives than negatives. read more

My daughter recently signed with Niche Models and Talent. This summer they offered several workshops for models and actors and I can't say enough good things about it! Anyone who is serious about working in the modeling/acting industry should really think about participating in these workshops. The runway class was excellent! It was a physically intense class, but i can see how it improved my daughter's runway walk and gave her more confidence about what she's doing. The photoshoot she had was sooooo professional! She was able to get some really fantastic, high quality fashion photos. Finally, the acting courses helped her (and her sister) to build on their previous acting skills. The acting workshops provided much more in depth knowledge about acting for different genres and about auditioning techniques. Without a doubt, I know that they'll be prepared and confident for any upcoming auditions. I love the fact that Niche offered these intensives to help them sharpen their skills. It was an awesome (& different) educational experience for the summer too! read more

The most unprofessional agency I have dealt with. They keep telling me different things about my daughter . first they want me to come in interview with her, then they say send a video then, saying they mixing her up with another girl that has the same name as my daughter. Then offers me a submission without even representing my daughter. Unorganized. Then after everything tell me to apply back in 6months because they not taking her age range. And also stating that I need to apply when i move back on the island when i never even told them or even left the island. I don't want this company representing my daughter they cant even get the staff on one accord. And of course she ignored the fact when i asked were they accredited with the BBB. And ignored my email. Some people had already told me not to waste my time there, and i read the reviews but decided to still give them a try. If i could give zero stars then i would. read more
