Came here to have a couples massage with my partner and it was lovey and very relaxing. We felt refreshed and the pressure was great for me, not too hard on my back. My fiancé preferred his massage with a little more pressure but he throughly enjoyed it he said. Two reasons I'm not giving five stars is the girls were talking during the massage and it was disrupting the relaxation. You can talk but come one full blown conversations. Secondly, like another reviewer before me said... I booked the couple's massage almost a week in advance yet we showed up and panic was on their face. There was only one person there and they acted as if they had no idea we wanted a couples massage. We're pretty go with the flow people so we went next door and had a drink in the bar while that lady called her other associate to come help her with the couples massage. Which worked out great for us. I'm just glad we weren't on a time crunch and/ or there wasn't someone else booked right behind us. I'd definitely come back to have an awesome massage, but just keep in mind if you want a couples massage they might not relay that message to their employees and you may wind up frustrated. read more

I have been seeing Emily for several massages and cannot say enough about how professional and strong she is. She is very considerate, kind and listens to your needs. She knows what she is doing, and I have never had an even average massage experience. They have all been over the top, 10/10. I have had full body and Thai massage. Both with incredible results. Emily was my massage therapist. She's a small woman with lots of power. She listened to me. I had a bad headache. She worked on my scalp, forehead and face. She begins with an all over relaxing massage. She then goes into all parts of your body. She gets up on the table to get into your body more and stretch you. Not worth the price. Got a family member the 60 minute Swedish massage and it was supposed to include essential oils and hot stones. She didn't get any of that and when I asked why the lady on the phone told me it was because she was older and they wanted to focus on just the massage and she can get it when she buys another massage. disappointed, went for a couples massage and this is the only time I did not want to leave a tip, and I always tip very generously. The reason being most of the massage just felt like they were filling in time by shaking my arms, and legs, and patting my back. I asked for hard pressure, as well as my partner and we both agreed it felt like they just were lightly running their hands over. The lady came after us and said we need to tip, and then she proceeded to say we owed her double as if it were two hours instead of one because we didn't tip. I will not be coming back. read more

I have gone to Anna;s Calm Down for a long time now, each time to get a 90 minute full body massage. Anna has always very kind and professional to me each time I come in.I have had Judy as my massage therapist for about three years now and I believe Judy is the best massage therapist in Tucson! Judy is also very kind, peofessional, sweet and I really enjoy talking to her. Her massage technique is firm on your shoulders, back, legs and feet but soft on your face, neck and hands, her technique is very relaxing.At times she will use hot rocks on mu back which is very nice. I would recommend Anna;s Calm Down and Judy to anyone who is looking for a great massage!! read more

This place is VERY, VERY professional and clean!!! My husband and I just came in for 30 minute massages. They were amazing! Normally when we go to a massage place, one of us leaves feeling like it wasn't very good. This time we both enjoyed it. We came in without an appointment and the kind owner accommodated us but I'd recommend you call and schedule an appointment. I don't think I want to go anywhere else for massages now. They do great work! You have the option for hard or medium massage. I chose the hard massage. It's pretty intense, but it's well worth it. The massage entails pretty much everything: hot stones, hot towels, oil, kneading with hands and knees, and standing/walking on your back. I've never done that kind of massage before, but the masseuse checked in with me frequently to make sure I was comfortable. Also, the facilities are clean and new with pleasant decor. Very interesting time. I went to this place for just a shoulder and neck massage. I would give 5 stars but no one speaks English, because of this I received a basic 30 minute massage rather just my neck and shoulders. I came here with back pain. 20 minutes to get out of bed, call into work back pain. My chiropractor recommended getting massage. My go-to massage place was booked. The first 4 places on Yelp were booked. I called Calm Down. A very polite Asian woman answered the phone. She knew very little english, but understood that I wanted a massage asap and said "Ok, you come now." We all know the stereotype of the Asian massage parlors. I was a little concerned that I may be going to a house of ill repute. I had never been to any type of Asian massage parlor but do frequent American massage practitioners, usually as part of full service spas, or those who work at a chiropractors office. I will say this; Asian massage is much different than Western massage. I was greeted at the door by "Coco." I am sure that's not her real name and I probably couldn't pronounce her real name anyway. It doesn't matter. She spoke almost no English. That doesn't matter either. I just pointed to what I wanted on the menu; 90 minutes for $75. She took me back to a clean comfortable room and I got ready. Like an idiot, I was laying the wrong way on the bed and had the wrong blanket covering me. Once we got that squared away, she got started. The techniques were not what I was accustomed to and I had a hard time relaxing at first, but once I settled in, it was great. "Coco" asked if I wanted "hard or soft" to which I replied hard. This entails walking on your back and using her knees to really break down your muscles. Pretty up close and personal, but it worked. Next morning, the intense stabbing pain in my back was gone, leaving only a mild, tolerable pain. 2 days later and I'm pain free. I've been back twice. I'm now a believer in Asian technique. The other women at Calm Down speak better English and are great to talk to. So far, I have been able to walk in and get worked on without an appointment, although "Anna" says she prefers an appointment. I recommend Calm Dawn. This is my new go-to massage parlor. read more

I came here before finding a more legit place. First, I called to specifically ask for an appointment for a foot massage. The lady that answered explained that they were not busy and if I went that instant they could provide a foot massage. I parked, walked in and was greeted by two Asian women. One woman spoke no English as evidenced by the other woman translating for her. The non-English speaking one escorted me into a room and motioned to remove my clothing. I explained to the English speaking one that I was there for a simple foot massage. She responded, "the man that do that won't be here until tomorrows." I responded, "it doesn't need to be a man, I just want my feet rubbed." Non-English woman says something while throwing her hands up, Other lady turns to tell me, "she said she no do woman, you take clothes off for massage, she is the best one." So I decided to try this place out after reading all the wonderful reviews on Yelp, but was pretty disappointed. My boyfriend and I were looking to get a couples massage and I called and booked for a Sunday. When we went in we were led to separate rooms and the practitioner didn't understand when I asked about being in the same room. I thought no big deal, but after getting undressed and lying on the table she comes in to tell me, using a translation app on her phone, that she is the only one there and she can call someone to come in, in half an hour. I decided to just let my boyfriend have the massage, he works in construction and his body really needs the work. I also didn't want to lay there naked on the table for half an hour or more and ruin our lunch reservation that was set for afterward. He said he felt good after the massage so at least there's that. They were apologetic, but said they thought our appointment was for Saturday and we just didn't come in. It would have been nice if I had received a call when I "missed" my appointment-then we could have cleared this up. Place looks very tidy and clean, but we won't be back. read more

this place was clean and the staff was friendly. however, this is the first massage i refused to tip afterwards. at first the room was dead silent. i requested music and it took an additional 15 minutes to get that situated while I waited. then finally music was brought on a phone and i was relieved to finally get started. there were three or four interruptions of people comin in and out of the room as the massage took place and because of this i couldnt relax properly. I liked the hot towel rub down but it was unexpected and a surprise. definitely a language barrier that i did not have the energy to battle. id try them again but only cuz she gave me $10 off my next visit amd they were friendly and only on my feet. i also find it tacky to ask for your gratuity. read more
