We had tried to clean our area rug with a Rug Doctor from the local hardware store. I called Scott at GTRC and he immediately diagnosed the problem...our rug contained natural fibers which had reacted to the Rug Doctor solution. He explained the chemistry of the stain, and had lots of experience in correcting this problem, although he was honest to say that his technique had about a 75% success rate in these situations. When we dropped the rug he said that we would only be charged if he was successful and if we were completely satisfied. Two weeks later the rug was ready, and it looks amazing, The stains are completely gone for the most part, and barely noticeable in only a few small spots. Scott is really a "rug whisperer", and we learned so much about caring for our rug in the future (including how best to take care of pet stains and spills when they happen). Sean Seabass refused to share any information with myself or my unlicensed wrongfully practicing property manager. He told me none of my business when my insurance was covering the damage, and I was baffled by the extent of remodeling needed to be done over a burnt pot on the cheap crappy stove. In addition, to taking 3 months and over quoting and taking advantage of this minor accident, SErvice Masters , took all my belongings, insisting they be cleaned. They took over 2 months probrably 3 to return and when they did not damaged items such as all my electronics came back broken. My 2k television all of the sudden has a broken screen when I watched and hung out in this apprently toxic living room for over a month until they arrived. I later learned by the staff myself and family were exposed to botulism. Apparently, they only gave my insurance maybe 10% of the damaged items and just returned broken things that were not broken before, as well as forgot things such as my dining table, a large bench, an ipad. I have spent multiple months trying to get a resolution and was threatened and spoken so rude to by Sean Seabass and their team. In a nutshell this company took advantage, took their time, and stole and damaged my belongings and refuse to communicate with me. I have had a list of items missing or damaged and they won't respond. DO NOT LET YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! They are corrupt and will only try to steal or over quote your property to make a buck. We could not believe the quantity of lint material removed from our long 15 foot dryer duct, enough to fill at least half a bushel basket. Steve thoroughly cleaned the duct and dried it with a powerful blower. Afterwards it took less than half the time to dry a load of washed clothing. Our carpet looked amazingly improved after the cleaning (it was very dirty). However some of the heavily tracked areas still showed soil. We wonder if going over those areas a second time may have made a difference. The owner Steve and his son did all the work themselves, were efficient, courteous and knowledgable. All in all he did a good job on the carpet however there was a substantial soil pattern in the walk area that did not come clean. He is willing to come back out and clean that area a second time but for an extra fee. Carpets do not show soil entirely to a carpet cleaner until they are completely dry. I am from an area with tremendous choices in carpet cleaners. Where I am from prior to moving to the Traverse City area, carpet cleaners will come out within the first week and clean it a second time to see if they can remove the stain at no charge. Not the case with this company, not happy at all. He may be a good carpet cleaner but not good with customer service! Sadly still looking for a good carpet cleaner in the TC area.
