Grace of India, just a block away has pleasant surroundings, chatty staff from this family run business, is quiet and with sea views all provided to make your meal a better experience. Food came in the form of chicken korma (mild) for others in our party and starter was a potato nan type chicken dish. But as they have no licence for alcohol you BYOB, which we could have bought in The Golf or can order fizzy pop. Grace have been in the town for a few years now, had redesigned the local chippy and are well established. Are usually busy, when there isn't a wedding on in the nearby. All in all we would definitely come again.

Great entrees but so-so starters and no desserts…read more After travelling in England for a few days we were desperate for some spice and based on reviews and recommendations chose the Spice House. At first we were disappointed as both our starters - the lamb chops and veggie samosas - were average at best with both being rather dry and scrawny. But then the entrees arrived and the Spice House was redeemed. The lamb vindaloo was properly spiced and perfectly delicious. The sag paneer, cucumber raita, and royal tandoor were equally wonderful. Rice, pappadam and a couple of nan rounded out our meal and we went home very happy. The service was good and the decor was modern and clean if a bit uninspired. One caveat. Our children ordered ginger ales and we were served the smallest bottles I have ever seen - 125ml (4 oz) of warm soda each. I'm guessing they are only used as mixers. And the only desserts on offer were ice creams (i.e. no Indian desserts such as kheer or galab jamun).

Great food, freshly cooked and interesting. Definitely a cut above your 'average' Indian restaurant.read more
