The Indian southern garlic dish was flavorful with garlic permeating through every bite. I'm not a fan of extra spicy but the balance of heat kept you engaged- although the sauce was delicious, the prawns were ok. As for the buttered chicken, sauce was addicting. The garlic naan along with the rice pilaf , brought all the flavors together. It's a intimate vibe perfect for any celebration. There's an upstairs room that was also available for larger groups.

We stopped in for breakfast and from the moment I looked at the menu, I knew this wasn't your typical brunch spot. As someone who's been sober for over a decade, I genuinely appreciated seeing a thoughtful nonalcoholic drink menu instead of the usual afterthought. Creative, intentional, and every bit as interesting as the cocktail list. Then the food showed up. The breakfast naan sandwich absolutely lived up to the hype. One of those meals where you immediately start thinking about when you can come back and order it again. Everything was packed with flavor, beautifully balanced, and somehow comforting while still feeling completely different from anything I'd had before. Dishoom's breakfast menu has become famous for those naan rolls, and after trying one, I completely understand why. What impressed me most was that nothing felt gimmicky. The concept, the atmosphere, the drinks, and the food all supported one another. Honestly, I'm not aware of anything quite like this in the States. It feels less like going out for breakfast and more like stepping into another city's café culture for a couple of hours. Dishoom was one of the culinary highlights of my trip to Edinburgh, and it'll be one of the first places I return to the next time I'm back in the UK

The bun maska was perfectly drenched in butter, and the chai was hot and comforting. The chili chicken was also really flavorful with the perfect spice level. For our mains, we got the Ruby Chicken and House Black Dal with garlic naan, chili paratha, and a side of plain rice. The Ruby Chicken had a delicious tomato gravy, and the chicken pieces were really soft. The dal was thick and creamy. Everything paired together so well. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself was beautiful, with a Bombay-inspired atmosphere. There's seating both upstairs and downstairs, and while we didn't have any issues, I've heard there can be long wait times. Our server was friendly, although the service felt a little sloppy at times. They also surprised us with complimentary champagne since we were celebrating a special occasion, which was really nice. I found the portions to be a little smaller, and it's definitely on the pricier side, but I think it's worth the splurge. If you're visiting the UK, I'd definitely recommend checking out Dishoom!

Grace of India, just a block away has pleasant surroundings, chatty staff from this family run business, is quiet and with sea views all provided to make your meal a better experience. Food came in the form of chicken korma (mild) for others in our party and starter was a potato nan type chicken dish. But as they have no licence for alcohol you BYOB, which we could have bought in The Golf or can order fizzy pop. Grace have been in the town for a few years now, had redesigned the local chippy and are well established. Are usually busy, when there isn't a wedding on in the nearby. All in all we would definitely come again.

This was, hands down, the best meal I ate in Scotland. For any of you skeptics who believe the UK is doomed to have gross food (and you're pretty much right), this place will change your mind. Everything was incredibly fresh, really delicious and the menu very unique - no marginal, generic poser-Indian-Pakistani fare like what we get in the U.S. The servers were delighted to explain and recommend their favorite dishes and clearly took a lot of pride in how awesome their food is. The white tablecloth service was top-notch. Oddly, the dining room was very empty for an early dinner, but the customers coming in for take away was nonstop the whole time. Score!
